The Custom Class Competition is back for its seventh iteration! With the success of the previous format, it has been decided to bring it all back for another round, with a couple of minor adjustments. We are now on Week Four.
The following entries have made it into Week Four. Congratulations to all who entered!
The Fisherman, by B3ckemon [26]
The Seer, by Klipce [23]
The Skaven, by Noah_McGrath [23]
The Riftblade, by McF4rtson [21]
The Traveller, by MvonTzeskagrad [21]
There was a tie for 4th place, so both entries were allowed through.
This is the Discussion Thread! Ask for feedback, return the favour, ask questions, etc. here. Those who did not make it into Week Two or were never part of the contest are still welcome to give feedback.
Do NOT post your submission here. There is no Submission Thread this week.

Overview
All contestants will create one custom class, following the layout of Demon Hunter.
There will be a total of 45 cards to be made.
All contestants will select one out of the three expansions for their custom class to arrive in-game: Ashes of Outland, Scholomance, and Darkmoon Faire. These are the three sets that came after the arrival of Demon Hunter.
The contest will run for 4 weeks.
Week One: 10 Basic cards.
Week Two: 10 "Initiate" cards.
Week Three: The other 10 "Initiate" cards.
Week Four: 15 expansion cards.
"Initiate" means the supplemental 20 cards Blizzard printed for Demon Hunter. Yours do not have to be named Initiate set.
Challenge
B3ckemon: Faire
Klipce: Scholomance
Noah_McGrath: Ashes of Outland
McF4rtson: Faire
MvonTzeskagrad: Scholomance
This week's challenge is three-way, depending on which expansion you chose!
Ashes of Outland:
If you choose to have both a Prime and a Dormant minion, then they must cost the same (the original minion that generates the Prime token, that is).
If you choose otherwise, then one of your Legendaries must be a spell.
Scholomance:
You will need to make 8 Dual-class cards in total. 4 of them will be with another contestant who has chosen Scholomance. Therefore, Klipce and Mvontzekagrad need to work together to make 4 Dual-class cards.
The other 4 will be made independently. You will choose one of the existing 10 classes to make a Dual-class card cycle with.
All Dual-class cards should follow in-game rarities or any other patterns.
Darkmoon Faire: Almost all classes have at least 2 Corrupt cards. You will need to make one spell with Corrupt and one minion with Corrupt.
Submission Format
Week Four has a different Submission Format! Take care when reading these rules.
You will now create your own individual thread.
Each thread will be titled "[CCC 7 Finalist] Class Name"
Inside your thread, you have more freedom as to how you want to present your class:
You are allowed an extra image/graphic. So, you are allowed one more decorative image besides your banner. Again, all extra decorative images need to be behind a spoiler.
You are allowed to showcase the following cards:
Hero Portrait, Hero Power, keyword tooltip, Upgraded Hero Power, three cards from your Week Four expansion, and three extra cards from past weeks for a total of six showcase cards.
All six showcase cards will be used in the final voting thread.
Tokens should still be hidden behind a spoiler to reduce clutter.
Flavour text is allowed behind a spoiler.
Golden cards are not allowed.
Rules
How is the Initiate set split in half?
There are 8 commons, 6 rares, 4 epics, and 2 legionaries. That makes splitting the Initiate set in half rather easy.
For Weeks Two and Three, contestants will create 4 commons, 3 rares, 2 epics, and 1 legendary.
What expansions can I choose from?
You may select either Ashes of Outland, Scholomance Academy, or Darkmoon Faire.
Uh oh spaghettios, class cycles.
You must have at least one all-class cycle.All-class, in this context, means both a cycle shared between all 9 classes, or a cycle that the League of EVIL classes or Explorers classes share.
While, at first, it seems to make sense that your custom class should adhere to all all-class cycles in a given expansion, Demon Hunter did not have a Prime legendary, therefore you only need to use one such cycle.
To clarify, here are the all-class cycles you may choose from:
AoO: There is no cycle shared between all classes.
However, 9/10 classes have a Prime legendary and 9/10 classes have a Dormant minion.
Scholomance Academy: Dual-class cards.
Dual-class cards present a major logistics challenge. Depending on how many entries decide to choose this expansion as their starting point, the solution to this challenge will differ.
Madness at the Darkmoon Faire: One class Corrupt card (Rogue and Warrior have one, while Priest has three, all other classes have two)
What about card cycles not shared between all nine classes, like Studies spell cards, or Aspirant cards?
You may pick and choose from those.
What about Hero Cards?
I have decided to disallow Hero Cards. While I am aware Warlock came with Jaraxxus in their Classic set, I feel as though a new class receiving a massive power spike in the form of a Hero Card while other classes did not in that expansion will create an even worse problem DH did upon arrival.
Can I rename the "Initiate" set to whatever I want?
Yes.
What watermarks do I use?
For the "Initiate" set, you can use whatever watermark you think makes the most sense. There is a list of watermarks here.
Do I have to follow the rarity distribution of the Demon Hunter Initiate set?
Yes.
You may not introduce a Legendary spell, weapon, or Hero in the Initiate set as there are none in the current Demon Hunter example we've been given.
Do I need to adhere to Warcraft lore?
The short answer: no.
The long answer: Try your best to do so. Even if your Hero is not a character found in Warcraft, you can still achieve a general feel of Warcraftiness by using in-game place names and references. Put in the work and use some elbow grease. Do your research on Wowpedia.
Do I need class-exclusive keyword?
No.
Can I do a Monk or Death Knight class?
No.

Aw. Too bad. Congrats to all those who make it. Will drop in here and there to give my feedback.
The votes for middle 4 or so were neck and neck for a very long time, which is why I pre-emptively said only the bottom 4 would be eliminated as I suspected there might be a tie, maybe even a three-way tie.
How will be the winner chosen? Will it be the one who get most votes in this phase, or the one who will have the highest sum of votes through all phases?
Yep, I need to know that as well, also as soon as we all know wich expansions do we get to make the better (most obvios case is having to cooperate to make dual-class in scholomance)

Votes this phase. No votes were carried through during this contest so it doesn't make sense to sum the votes at the end.

I'm not sure what your question is, you didn't quote anything. I'm guessing challenges?
Okay, so I'm not sure I understand the challenge for Scholomance. Should we make only 4 dual-class cards instead of the 8 each class got in this expansion ? Can we choose which class we team up with ? Can we share the design of dual-class cards between the two contestants who chose this expansion ? Should we make one card of each rarity like official dual-class card sets or can we use the repartition we want ?

Well if you make 8 cards instead of 4, then you'd have to make 19 cards instead of 15, as Demon hunter got extra cards during Ashes of Outland and Faire. I suppose if both you and Mvon are ok with making 19 we can go with that.
And about sharing dual-class cards between contestants, I want to make sure if you guys were ok with doing 19 cards instead of 15 first.
Rarities, thought that was a given, I'll add that in.
I've got 2 different ideas for my prime (and the dormant minion, cause challenge). Which one is better?
Long and slow OTK setup combo:
Snitkch Prime is super powerful, i know, however he is a 10 mana play. Skaven is not a particularly great class at controlling the board, as so this is a very slow combo.
More miracle sort of combo:
Chain as many Warpstone cards as you can for a mega whirl of death from Snitkch. The verminlord helps you draw cards so you can get those warpstone generators and consumers.
My plan for this phase is to make cards showing Clan Eshin and introduce a combo-ish sort of aspect to the class. Because of the increased number of cards i will also fill some gaps from previous phases, showing some skipped units like weapon teams and artillery.
EDIT: Forgot the Demon tag on the Verminlord. I'll add it later.

I like the second prime more, but I think the second version of the verminlord is very powerfull, I'd change it to draw 2 cards instead of 3; IDK.
Alright, so i've decided to go with the second prime due to feedback. These are the cards i have so far, they are all first ideas, throwing to see what sticks.
Warpstone Ninjitsu:
Eshin Tricks:
Swarm Aggression:
I'll try to complete the set tomorrow. I might rework Weeping Blades into something more useful. Still thinking what my second legendary and epics might be, i'm open to suggestions if you want to see more of certain stuff.

Ok, I'm giving my two cents.
Sniktch Prime is very very weak. Keep in mind Akama Prime exists, and attacking removes stealth (also, not sure if it is good idea that the skaven master of stealth and assassins gets strong warpstone synergy).
Plague Monk reminds me of Rustsworn Cultist, perhaps could us a small stat boost.
Gutter Runner is too strong, Feral Gibberer is a 1/1 without stealth that adds the minions to your hand. Even if that minion was too weak for constructed, this one is way too long ahead. I'd say is better than Firefly, wich was almost meta-defining the year it got released.

Thanks for the feedback.
Snitkch resets his attack every time you discard Warpstone, so means he can potentially attack 2, 3, 4 even 5 times in a single turn. The stealth is meant to protect him until you can go for the kill. He has 5 health which dodges almost all board clears, but he isn't unkillable thus leaving the opponent a chance to react. Stuff like freezes, random damage and ultra board clears like Twisting Nether allow counterplay. Also keep in mind the hero power and that discarding warpstone buffs a random minion. These all add up to a pretty good OTK in my opinion.
I know Eshin isn't big on warpstone but generating tokens and spending them on flashy spells like Warp Star feels pretty cool for a combo. I can't go too heavy on the stealth stuff else i'll end up copying rogue.
I agree Gutter Runner is strong but in comparison to Gibberling i think he's fine. Probably making him 2 mana would make him more balanced.
Hey @MvonTzeskagrad and @Klipce; McF4rtson reached out to see if the issue with the scholomance class border was showing up for different people and we're both experiencing it when trying to upload. I would reccommend at the moment just making neutral mockups. Worst comes to worst, we can line up the borders by hand (The legendaries will be fun but it can be done). To that end, try to crank those cards out first, we may need a night or two to line them up if we need to go that route.
Also good luck to everyone who's still going!
EDIT: We fixed it literally five minutes later, shake my head. McF4rtson will probably contact you with next steps.

Gutter Runner for some reason strike me as really unfun. If you have this card and against another aggressive deck (or just certain class like Rogue or Druid), are very likely to snowball out of control based on sheer board presence.
I think your Epic and Legendary should focus on drawing / tutoring. Your Prime minion is really powerful, it just needs some way to consistently draw into it.

Ok, so...
Do I have to make 4 dual cards, and Klipce another 4 dual cards? Or do we have to cooperate to make between both of us 4 cards?
Also, I assume one of these have to be a legendary (like the rest of the classes that have a dual legend and a class legend)

19 total? Fine by me, at least as long as I get right how many are class and how many are duals, and the rarities.
