Competition Theme: I Like Big Comps and I Cannot Lie
First of all, congratulations to Phoenixfeather for winning WCDC 10.13!
Earlier this year, Pircival won Hearthpwn's Class Competition with Izzy Jameson, the Archaeologist. You can find the full post here: Pircival's Archeologist Submission
This week, make a card from any class (or the Archeologist class) that features the keyword: Decay.
Decay is the class keyword of Archaeologist, representing the antiquity of their antiques. (Don't judge the diction, this is a direct quotation from Pirc himself).
Decay reads as follows:
Note: Decay does not stack.
Some examples are shown below:
You can choose the Archeologist class by selecting more classes on Hearthcards.net and selecting the "Pirate Hero" icon:
This competition is a way of dipping your toes into the world of custom class creation! Competition Process
Below is a list of all the deadlines for this contest:
Preview Phase (Nov. 19, 2019 [10:00 PM CST] - Nov. 20, 2019 [10:00 PM CST]) The Discussion Topic is made available, previewing this week's competition theme. Entry and Early Voting Phase (Nov. 20, 2019 [10:00 PM CST] - Nov. 24, 2019 [10:00 PM CST]) During this Phase, the Submission Topic will be unlocked. You may also, of course, feel free to give early up-votes to any submissions that you like! Voting Phase (Nov. 24, 2019 [10:00 PM CST] - Nov. 25, 2019 [10:00 PM CST]) During this Phase, the Submission Topic will be locked, so no more entries may be submitted. Instead, use this time to browse the submissions and up-vote your favorites! Final Phase (Nov. 25, 2019 [10:00 PM CST] - Nov. 26, 2019 [10:00 PM CST]) During this Phase, the Discussion Topic will also be locked, and a Finalists Thread will go up. Discussion will be allowed to continue in the Finalists Thread, and it will also include all the qualifying finalists and a poll to decide the winner of the competition!
Discussion Topic Rules
To make sure that everything runs smoothly, we need to reserve the Submission Topic for submissions only. Everything else goes here. What is everything else, you might ask?
Rules or Process. Do you have a question about the competition's process? Do you need clarification about one of the entry requirements? Are you not sure whether your entry adhered to the rules? Ask here!
Feedback or Ideas. Do you have some ideas you'd like to run by others before settling on one? Do you need help balancing or wording your entry? Do you need help finding art that will fit your card? Or do you just want feedback from the community on your entry? You're in the right place! Remember, although you are allowed to make minor tweaks to your entry after you've submitted it, you're only allowed one submission per week, so make sure that you've settled on your card for sure beforehand.
Discussion! Do you have thoughts on other people's entries? Are there directions you don't like that you're seeing too many people take? Or directions you'd like to see more people take? Would you like to help others and contribute to a greater community understanding of Hearthstone card design and balance? This is where you want to be!
All of that said, please refrain from the following:
Posting TONS of Ideas. Discussion topics become an absolute mess if everybody is posting a dozen different ideas. Please post not more than 3 distinct ideas at a time. Any more than that and we'll have to delete your post.
Advertising Your Entry. As a rule of thumb, please don't pop in here just to advertise your entry only to never be heard from again. This includes only asking short, generic questions like "Thoughts?" or "Do you think this is interesting?". Yes, getting feedback on your entry is one of the purposes of this topic, but we're not just here for other people to help you. We're here for you all to help each other.
Plagiarism. Many people post their ideas here before finalizing them in the submission topic. Directly plagiarizing those ideas to post in the submission topic yourself is absolutely not acceptable.

Plague of Decay and Plaguemaster Rancel are straightforward board using the keyword. Suramar Nightfallen using the keyword to justify her overstat status but can be reduced by casting spells, signify the Nightfallen magic addiction.

Just because I'm pointlessly pedantic: there's a small typo in the Rancel card: it should probably read "After this minion takes damage" rather than "After this minion take damage". Interesting card, though IMO it should cost less, since it is an understatted legendary which self-harms, is easily removable (it is effectively a 1/3 for your opponent unless buffed) and has a damaging effect which is a worse Despicable Dreadlord (which only harms enemy minions). Just my two cents though, I wish I was half that creative ;-)
This idea instantly popped into my mind. I think it'd be more balanced as a minion than a cheap spell. Obviously there's synergy with Fandral/Untapped Potential, but I think there might be a need for druid cards that synergize with Decay for this to work. Still not sure about the stats.
my idea for this comes from the fact that not all cards have to be good, "bad" cards are made for every expansion, also known as pack filler, so here is some pack filler!
Wait, now that I think about it, will a poisonous decay minion kill itself? I assume that losing health counts as taking damage for various effects, as unlike the set health to x mechanic, the character counts as damaged. I think it works like that, but I might be wrong.
When I first looked at it I thought it was a little weak, but the more I thought about it I think it's well-statted and could be pretty useful. Nice card!

I had the same feelings when creating this card :)
Plague of Decay and Plaguemaster Rancel are straightforward board using the keyword. Suramar Nightfallen using the keyword to justify her overstat status but can be reduced by casting spells, signify the Nightfallen magic addiction.
Suramar is stronger then should be, as it is not really hard to keep her at her 6 health as mage, without even try focus on it. So basically you have stats for free without valid reason why...
On the other hand, plague of Decoy is little bit underpowered, as decoy trigger on end of turn of player which control them, so enemy player can pretty easily play around it.
Plague master is really nice and have interesting effect, on other hand, his ability is not something legendary, maybe epic? From balance point view, it seems solid, maybe even 6 stats would pass.
I went with three... rather extreme applications of the Decay keyword:
(Another alternative is giving Harrison the effect of the Cube)
Harrison: How somebody already wrote, this card is not very fun to play against if on curve and can bring so much value. I really don't think highlander decks need some help now.
Chestkeeper: Bullsh... Let's go on next.
Cube: Oh nice one. Standalone weak card, but i think there could be created cards around this card for making some interesting combo deck. + the feel, when you would see enemy slowly die even before fatigue is great.
my idea for this comes from the fact that not all cards have to be good, "bad" cards are made for every expansion, also known as pack filler, so here is some pack filler!
"you can't even call it a dragon at this point"
Make it 2 mana and it would be serious pack filler, as it is neither weak or strong.
I think it is pretty strong card for this class, where you have so many decays. I think 4 mana would be better. Anyway effect really fit this class very well.

Look at the full post of the Archaeologist class... There is not "so many" decay minions. Usually its a weapon with decay. I think 3 mana is okay.
Hey guys! Finally, so happy to get an Arch comp! Here's a tip: Decay works best on weapons with auras (passive effects), so I would recommend a focus on that.

I love them. Submit them to the submission topic and you have my vote in finals
Thank you! Which one do you like the most? I can only submit one...

"you can't even call it a dragon at this point"
Definitely Harrison. Keep it as it Is. The Cube is neat, but his effect is more interesting.
Wait, now that I think about it, will a poisonous decay minion kill itself? I assume that losing health counts as taking damage for various effects, as unlike the set health to x mechanic, the character counts as damaged. I think it works like that, but I might be wrong.
"They need to hurry her every time..."
I'm sure I won't be the only one with this design idea. Is 6 health too strong? I was debating between 5 and 6.
When I first looked at it I thought it was a little weak, but the more I thought about it I think it's well-statted and could be pretty useful. Nice card!
Flavour text : "Just a rager with a garden hose"
Let me know when to pick up my award.
I had the same feelings when creating this card :)
Harrison makes minions with 1 Health near useless. Very strong when played on curve. IMO needs to higher its mana cost.
Cursed Chestkeeper. First I thought that cool, but if he recieve a stats buff from another card its became too overpowerfull, isn't it?
Cube of the Titans - for 5 mana enemy hero receive 1 damage at the end of each his turn. Far from be legendary spell IMO
Suramar is stronger then should be, as it is not really hard to keep her at her 6 health as mage, without even try focus on it. So basically you have stats for free without valid reason why...

I think it is pretty strong card for this class, where you have so many decays. I think 4 mana would be better. Anyway effect really fit this class very well.
Mediocre idea, but totally overstated. Why would it have normal stats, when it can do additional dmg "forever", 1/5 would be definitely better.
Water Rager: Oh i thought, it was Mist Rager, it would even correlate with effect.
What’s the Point of this card? It just die in the first turn right? Or I am missing something
Favorite Cards: 1. Lord Jaraxxus | 2. Malygos| 3. Edwin VanCleef | 4. Zephrys the Great| 5. Deathwing
