Congratulations once again to nobravery for winning WCDC 10.10. They've got a fitting competition theme as we near Halloween.
Competition-Specific Restrictions:
You will create a Zombeast. However:
It must combine with an in-game beast that costs (5) or less that has no text or simple keywords. (River Crocolisk, Young Dragonhawk, etc.) Youinclude this in your post.
You create a Beast, either Standard or Wild. As with all Zombeast cards, this must cost (5) or less. You do not post this card.
The resulting card, the combination of an in-game Beast and the Beast you create, is the Zombeast you enter to this competition.
You don't have to name it "Zombeast", name your entry however you'd like.
Interestingly, nobravery did not specify that the Beast you will create to combine with has to be a Neutral or Hunter beast, nor did he specify the in-game Beast you will use have to be Neutral or Hunter. The end result, however, must be a Hunter Zombeast.
As a rule of thumb, balance your entry as if you used Rexxar's Hero Power to create it, instead of a standalone card.
This is a special, seasonal contest! What better way to celebrate the spoopy season than with a prize of 7 free packs to the winner?
Competition Process
Below is a list of all the deadlines for this contest:
💀 Preview Phase (Oct. 29, 2019 [10:00 PM CST] - Oct. 30, 2019 [10:00 PM CST]) The Discussion Topic is made available, previewing this week's competition theme. 💀 Entry and Early Voting Phase (Oct. 30, 2019 [10:00 PM CST] - Nov. 3, 2019 [10:00 PM CST]) During this Phase, the Submission Topic will be unlocked. You may also, of course, feel free to give early up-votes to any submissions that you like! 💀 Voting Phase (Nov. 3, 2019 [10:00 PM CST] - Nov. 4, 2019 [10:00 PM CST]) During this Phase, the Submission Topic will be locked, so no more entries may be submitted. Instead, use this time to browse the submissions and up-vote your favorites! 💀 Final Phase (Nov. 4, 2019 [10:00 PM CST] - Nov. 5, 2019 [10:00 PM CST]) During this Phase, the Discussion Topic will also be locked, and a Finalists Thread will go up. Discussion will be allowed to continue in the Finalists Thread, and it will also include all the qualifying finalists and a poll to decide the winner of the competition!
Discussion Topic Rules
To make sure that everything runs smoothly, we need to reserve the Submission Topic for submissions only. Everything else goes here. What is everything else, you might ask?
Rules or Process. Do you have a question about the competition's process? Do you need clarification about one of the entry requirements? Are you not sure whether your entry adhered to the rules? Ask here!
Feedback or Ideas. Do you have some ideas you'd like to run by others before settling on one? Do you need help balancing or wording your entry? Do you need help finding art that will fit your card? Or do you just want feedback from the community on your entry? You're in the right place! Remember, although you are allowed to make minor tweaks to your entry after you've submitted it, you're only allowed one submission per week, so make sure that you've settled on your card for sure beforehand.
Discussion! Do you have thoughts on other people's entries? Are there directions you don't like that you're seeing too many people take? Or directions you'd like to see more people take? Would you like to help others and contribute to a greater community understanding of Hearthstone card design and balance? This is where you want to be!
All of that said, please refrain from the following:
Posting TONS of Ideas. Discussion topics become an absolute mess if everybody is posting a dozen different ideas. Please post not more than 3 distinct ideas at a time. Any more than that and we'll have to delete your post.
Advertising Your Entry. As a rule of thumb, please don't pop in here just to advertise your entry only to never be heard from again. This includes only asking short, generic questions like "Thoughts?" or "Do you think this is interesting?". Yes, getting feedback on your entry is one of the purposes of this topic, but we're not just here for other people to help you. We're here for you all to help each other.
Plagiarism. Many people post their ideas here before finalizing them in the submission topic. Directly plagiarizing those ideas to post in the submission topic yourself is absolutely not acceptable.

I saw this art and thought of using it at the time ahhahaha .... Sapphire Riverbeast is a Card that I thought of making it Legendary, but I thought it would be too weak to such a level (although Hunter's legendary history is not so good hahah). She has a slight defect that is necessary to attack her, that is, a taunt with a high life would be welcome, so I could think of Stegodon, which besides being cost 4 and having taunt, also has 6 from Health, which helps very much the Sapphire Beastriver.
Zombeasts are definitely not about balance, right? You can't just put together a penguin and dragonhawk and receive a well-balanced 2/2 windfury for 1.
Gotta hand it to you Wailor; you're pretty good at designing great cards. A 2 mana 1/1 rush reborn would be cool, flavourful, and seems to be well balanced (even if like many zombeasts the combined form is pretty OP :-P ).
Wanted to make a beast that was ok/good on its own, but turned Weasel Tunneler's battlecry into a more aggressive upside.
Base card is a 2 mana 3/4 that typically deals 3 damage to you when drawn (may be more if you've somehow buffed it). Felt it should be hunter-only so as to not powercreep too much on Ornery Tortoise; if they were both neutral, you'd be looking at saving a mana and 2 life to only lose 1 health on the minion.
Edit: just considered that a 2 mana 3/4 with no potential downside when in your starting hand may be a tad too strong even for Hearthstone, so may look at making it a neutral 3/3 when submissions actually open - only being 3/3 means it probably isn't really stronger than Tortoise if it's not in your starting hand, and if it is in your starting hand 3/3 for 2 isn't *too* oppressive. The alternative would be making it a 4/3 so that even if it ends up with no downside by being in the opening hand it's easier to remove, plus being 4/3 would make the Tunneler synergy even juicier. Open to input on the direction I should take this one (and thanks in advance).
Isn't this insanely strong? It's 4 mana, and totals up to 10/8 in stats. You can deal 4 damage, and you summon 2 Big Bad Wolfs. It fits the competition perfectly, so it's a well designed card, but man it's strong.

(I'm not Wailor) but yeah, it's definitely strong. But the two individual components of the card - Big Bad Wolf and the new hypothetical 2 mana 1/1 rush reborn beast aren't OP on their own. Now, would they consider wild and Deathstalker Rexxar when potentially designing the hypothetical new card? They probably would, but generally they tend to consider standard much more, so it may be able to sneak through.
For my own entry, I decided to go with Vilebrood Skitterer and a 2-mana Neutral Spectral beast, 1/1, with Divine Shield and Reborn. The result is below. I'm not sure if it can be problematic, but I like the idea of Hunter having more removal. Plus, nothing says creepers to me like spiders do.

I like the overall flavour of this card, it's very good. I'm interpreting this as a 3 mana, 4/5, that shuffles a bomb into your opponent's deck, but it deals 4 damage instead. I think the end-product is balanced well enough, and I like how you combined two effects that compliment each other very well. I think it works like this, but I also think you might get away with your own Beast having 4 Health. Quite a lot of minions have 4 Health for 2 mana anyway.
I'm not really sure what I'm looking at here, which means it's too confusing. And then when you start reading the card, it's even more confusing. Overall, for the effect it does, I think 5 mana is too hefty a price for something that you spend 2 mana on creating it in the first place.

Does the format matter? (Standard or Wild beasts)
Good question. He did not specify, but I imagine both are fine. I'll add this to the rules.

Rate my Death Knight Concept Class (be nice in the feedbacks... hehe).

(oh and the second beast is an obvious Magic Dart Frog)
I think there are already better cards than this, but...
Kindly Grandmother + Mummified Locust (2 Mana 1/1 Rush Reborn)
Please double check the rules. While you can combine any and all beasts, your end product must be a Hunter beast.

WHEEEEZE
its Weasel Tunneler +
Hungry Crab + Golakka Crawler
Choose one syntax never contains "battlecry", but i would like to keep condition of eating something in order to get +3/+3 stats.
is the zombeast or our designed half to be judged in the competition? also, we can only submit hunter or neutral cards, right?

My bad, i've read this in the morning and i thought it could be any beast

Dreadscale + Swamp Snake (3 mana 1/3 Hunter minion)
There are two pools in making a zombeast:
The first pool consists of cards with complex effects, such as Cave Hydra, Webspinner, Lifedrinker, Tundra Rhino.
The second pool consists of cards with simple keywords or no text, such as Vilebrood Skitterer, Stonetusk Boar, Bloodworm, Snowflipper Penguin.
You cannot make a zombeast with two beasts from the same pool. That's the fundamental rule of zombeast making.
Also, if a beast has both a complex effect and a simple keyword, it would appear in neither pools (examples: Springpaw, Witchwood Grizzly)
THERE IS NO GAME.
So my entry is faulty for that reason, I guess?
