Welcome to the Grand Finale!
It's finally here! After our longest competition yet, we've arrived at four stellar finalists, each vying to be crowned the winner of our fifth Class Creation Competition. This one featured an extended timetable and more focused challenges, leading competitors towards better class designs.
Still, as much as each of our competitors deserves to win, there can be only one victor - and you can only vote for your absolute favourite, so consider carefully!

Card Design ChampionGood luck, everyone! I'm sure this will be close, everybody made a good class.
There's a minor issue on this post, though. The Archaeologist hero power shown is the upgraded version from Baku and Justicar. This is the normal version:

Card Design ChampionHoping on Archaeologist to win also, it's the most elegantly designed one in my eyes. The keyword's simple, has a wide range of applications and allows for passive weapons to be a lot more possible and the themes work well and are well grounded. The Lost Ark is still a dumb card though, and I feel you should probably have included the Quel'Delar token for Nightblade Traveler.
I like Enchanter a lot also but I think it gets massively held back by Phase, which is a keyword that I don't think works out in practise very well. I like everything else, the class themes are concrete and distinct, even if I'm concerned with how functionally the class would work out in play.
For lich, I think it's been executed mostly quite well but it doesn't feel like it stands out enough to really interest me. A class built around ice and death without much more to mechanically distinguish it just makes me feel like I'm looking at something I've already seen hundreds of times, and I dislike the hero power and a lot of the overly long cards such as the death knight.
Quite happy with the finalists this time around overall, even if I wanted Alchemist to get through Archaeologist has always been my favourite. Good luck to all.
Guys it's 2019, omega cards deal 10 with no combo piece required for half as much mana and stronger stats than these legendaries.

Card Design ChampionEveryone did really good here. I'd honestly say everyone has an equal chance at winning, but if I can only vote for one person, I'm also voting for Pirc on this one.
I hope to see if any of you guys will continue with your classes after the competition, and best of luck in your future fan creation endeavors.

Card Design ChampionI hesitated between Lich and Enchanter. Enchanter has interesting mechanics and great artwork, but it's very complicated sometimes and I don't like the Phase keyword which is unintuitive and therefore not fitting as a class keyword. Lich on the other hand is cleaner, simpler, and has consistent flavor.
I ended up voting for Enchanter. The mechanics, the artworks (!), the general effort put into the class manage to offset its other design weaknesses. Tek big comp winner again.

I will finish the class. Eventually. Maybe.

I might have voted for you except for the fact that the hero power is "Freeze a character".
hero powers should have very poor effect. something that would cost 0 mana or less. and it should also be something that when done every turn does not make a big impact. and being able to freeze a minion every turn is just too much.

Card Design ChampionThis honestly is the biggest issue with custom classes. Design space for basic Hero Powers is extremely limited, as all of the really streamlined, simple designs are basically already taken.

Freezing Potion exists, so I have half of that covered at least. *shrugs* I maintain that the constant tempo you would bleed away from using the Hero Power over and over again would get you in trouble. I'm spending two mana every turn to stall one target; go wide and fuck me up :/
Edit: Frostfur is a Dungeon Run boss, with the same Hero Power, and she's one of the easiest bosses there is.
Edit2: Nevermind me; I should stop being defensive. You have the right to vote for whomever you want.
