Competition-Specific Restrictions:

• You must create a minion from one of the basic units or buildings of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos (or its expansion, The Frozen Throne). We want the expendable, replaceable minions; no hero characters!
  
• The rule of thumb is "if you could not build more of them in the RTS, you cannot make a card for them

We have whittled down ~50 valid submissions to just 8 of the community's favorites.

Gyrocopter, Moonlight Huntress and Crypt Fiend get my vote! All three are really neat ways to capture the special powers of the original units.

Lol, how I did arrive to the finals? Not that I complain though, thanks to those who voted me!

Druid seems a bit weak. Chaplaine looking for a keyword that doesn't exist yet, and how would that interact with lifesteal such as Spirit Lash? Love the flavor of Gyrocopter, however, the effect is too weak, and since it doesn't counter the secrets itself you can't play it into secrets. Banshee seems too strong, discard isn't that horrible when they can turn it into a benefit. Could also be lucky and get it in mulligan. The Huntress's effect seems a bit weak, would be better as 5/1 with permanent stealth since all classes can do at least 1 dmg AOE. 

The remaining three seems balanced though. Throwing my vote to Crypt Fiend, Zeppelin and the Barracks. :) 

Can someone explain the balance of Zeppelin? It's a pre-nerf CtA on a body, and then on top of that it gives the minions rush.

Banshee seems interesting and balanced. Maybe mostly because I always liked the idea of discardlock...

Imo the fact that it comes down in turn 7, when most opponents will have a boardclear available, and that warrior can't generate additional tokens with their hero power makes it much worse than pre nerf cta. In addition to that you're more likely to've drawn your 2 mana minions when you play this, which makes it a bit less consistent, so I think it should be fine, albeit its powerlevel. :)

What is Chaplain doing here? He is not from Warcraft?

 it also costs almost twice as much. which is a HUGE downside because when CtA was nerfed by 1 mana, it became a lot less OP, and this card costs 3 more mana.

My vote for huntress.

 It's a Campaign unit, but you are right in-that Chaplains are not buildable RTS units from WC3. It's an oversight on my part; there were a lot of disqualifications already. I needed to do a better job writing out the prompt.

But the current comp is the final competition of the season. After the final poll is a break. The only competitions left on Hearthpwn after this point are the mini comps at the end of the season.

 We haven't nailed down yet what we might be doing during the "break" we usually have, considering this is our last time on HearthPwn, so stay tuned to see what might be in store. We might have some final sendoff-style themes; I think we should at least do one for the winner of the Class Creation Competition.

For the most part, though, you are right in-that the Mini Comps and the Season 9 Grand Final Poll will be the closer to our time on HP.
