I think there should be an explicit rule that you don't get to "call dibs" on an idea that you post in the Discussion thread. The only thing that should count is who submitted the card first. If you want to gain the advantage of getting feedback on your card, then you should also bear the risk of someone beating you to the punch by submitting that same idea. Too often I see people unjustly accusing others of stealing their ideas from the Discussion thread, when those ideas are pretty obvious ones that multiple people could independently come up with.

This is an extremely dangerous position to take. The problem has never really been about someone else independently coming up with the same idea; the real concern is that a "whoever submits first" rule is a direct benefit to actual thieves. I post my card in the Discussion thread looking for feedback, you steal my idea and post it more-or-less without any changes, and now there's nothing I can do about it because you submitted first. We're not defending the victim, we're encouraging the wrong-doer.
True idea-thievery is a hard thing to prove, which is why complaints about it don't often amount to anything. The plaintiff needs to bring it up in an official capacity via a report or PM'ing one of us moderators, and then we need to research the situation and determine the validity of the argument. Are the cards similar because the idea is fairly "obvious" and multiple iterations was expected? Do they look similar but don't actually function the same? Did they make the same mistakes, implying it might be a copy-paste job? There are a lot of questions that have to be answered before we ever get close to a verdict.
It's not okay for people to falsely accuse others of wrong-doing, but those that speak up are doing so because they believe they are in the right; if this is true, then something should be done about it. We frankly need people to complain if they feel they have a truly-legitimate complaint: having your idea stolen is not a situation that potential creators should have to worry about, and pulling back on our defenses could create an open season for malevolent interests.
Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
Do we always have to make cards according to Card Restrictions in the comps? Is there a Thread where we can post Random cards and from there it allows participation in any Season by picking cards posted on them? Pls answer.

Well, there isn’t a current place that is specifically dedicated to random custom cards. You can always make your own thread to feature your custom creations, and there’s no rule that states you can’t participate in competitions with cards that you’ve made previously. It does seem like a good idea, and we could consider to make an “official” thread for such things.

Well, the simple solution to that is not to post your card in the Discussion thread until after you have submitted it in the Submission thread.
Perhaps this boils down to a fundamental difference in philosophy, but I'm a purist who thinks that people should come up with their own ideas and balance their own cards without any outside help at all. If your card is improved because of someone else's comment - e.g. someone else alerted you to a fatal flaw in your card which you then corrected - then you don't really deserve to win. Someone else who submitted a great card without any external help should win. And if you want to access the benefits of getting feedback on your card, then you should also bear the risk of someone else stealing your idea and/or beating you to the punch and submitting a similar idea (which is basically impossible to tell apart other than the most clumsy and blatant cases of plagiarism anyway).
In fact, I think the fundamental purpose of the Discussion thread should be re-assessed. It should be used to comment on the cards that have already been submitted in the Submission thread, and not for people to ask for feedback on potential card ideas. This might sound like too radical a change, but I think it would greatly improve the quality of the Discussion threads and should receive serious consideration. Currently it's almost exclusively filled with self-centred requests for feedback, which 99% of the community probably don't even bother reading. There is virtually no discussion of any of the cards that are in the competition (which is what one would instinctively expect a Discussion thread to be about).
Alternatively, if you really want to retain the avenue for people to get feedback on their ideas, you could create two separate discussion threads - one for people to ask for feedback, and one to actually discuss and evaluate the cards that have been submitted.

I dont agree that everyone should just make their card without an outside help, that is very patronizing and entitled mindset. Many of the participants dont have very good sense of how to create a proper card, be it balance, wording or art and such. Asking for feedback is pretty much the only way to improve. Yes, they could study the cards other ppl made, or at least the finalists and look up wordings and such, but simple truth is, not many will do that. And yes, it might not be 100% fair towards ppl who do take time to study these things and improve themselves actively and not just passively post a card and w8 what happens, but our competition is quite a casual one, even tho many of us (especially me) take it mby too seriously at times :) So there should be a place, where ppl with less skill in custom card creation can go and ask for help before submitting their card. Many many times i see amazing ideas squandered just by poor execution.
That being said, you might have a point about the actual discussion. There usually isnt much discussion about the cards that are submitted. To be honest, im not sure if it is a good thing or not cause it could very well end up influencing ppl to vote for one card or the other and im not too sure if we would count that as "vote manipulation". More so, we do not allow for ppl to promote their card outside of the submission thread and this could very well do just that. But i would be willing to support an idea to have a 3rd thread, a real discussion thread, where ppl could discuss these things. The current discussion thread could be renamed to a Feedback thread for example. But it would bring in the "overwhelm" factor, where ppl could be "intimidated" by the amount of information or rather supposed responsibility that three threads could/would present in the eyes of a casual competitor, more so in the eyes of a casual voter. But like i said, i wouldnt mind trying this out.
Do minicomp winners get the avartar border and "card design champion" title? There is a Reward section talking about them in Submission#3 but there isn't one in #4.

Yeah I won the 2nd minicomp about elementals.
Ok so minicomp winners do get the awards right? So when do I get the border and title? I'm not in a hurry, so take your time. I just want to know when I'm going to get it because I'm pretty excited to have one :D

Sorry, that's my bad. In the lead up to the final card reveal I just completely forgot to make sure everyone had had their borders added. You should have it now!

I did not have any major issues this year and i have to say it was really fun and exciting for me to compete in these! Keep up the great work mods. My only issue is that the winner's gallery is outdated, can you please update it? Thanks!
I know this would be a lot of effort, but the fairest and most balanced way (imho) to do a competition would be as follows:
First stage: An anonymous and randomized "swipe left/swipe right" selection stage. If you swipe right, the card gets a point, if you swipe left, the card does not get a point (you could limit it to 5 votes per person). Later entries could get more "screen-time", which means they are shown more often so that all cards have been show rather equally in the end.
Second stage: Similar to the current setup. The top *whatever number* will make it to the finals. We get to vote and a couple days later: taadaahhh we got a winner!
Simple, elegant and I don't know how to program it...

This just isn't possible despite how favorable it could be. The website systems just don't allow this. It would require Flux to completely redesign the website, which just isn't plausible.

I want a new title, but Flux won't let me have one,
Maybe you could implement the 1 to 5 rating system you have on cards in you database. Or maybe you could add a little poll under each submission.
Over all, i liked this year (mainly because i finally started creating cards myself). I hope i'll win one of these next year, but until then, thank you for all your hard work.
Could you maybe, possibly, have more than one winner per week? 3 would be nice, and you could have a golden border for first prize, a silver one for second place and a bronze for third place. First prize would still design the next competition, but maybe you could have all the winners collaborate (or 2nd and 3rd place just send suggestions while having 1st have the veto vote). totally not suggesting this just so i'll get a border
