You must make a card that utilizes or interacts with Overkill, the new Keyword from Rastakhan's Rumble!
Keep in mind that we do not yet know for certain all of the little details about Overkill; it seems like a simple Keyword, but we are jumping the gun here.
We have whittled down ~140valid submissions to just 20of the community's favorites. The Final Poll has not been consistently on time in several weeks, so on behalf of the mods I again want to apologize for this fact. Season 8 is very nearly over, so - hopefully - we can address this issue such-that it will no longer be a problem come next Season in January.
To close things out, I do have one final thing to address. Because I pushed back DestroyerR's week to fit in a Halloween theme, I accidentally created a problem: we're juggling too many winners. To fix this, RazorofArtorias will be the closer for Season 8 with the 21st theme, starting tomorrow. As it is a run-off/extra week to clean house, the winner of 8.21 will NOT get to choose a future theme. You can still earn yourself a winner's banner if you don't already have one, but the chain-reaction has to stop somewhere :/ This works out just fine in terms of scheduling, as after Mini Comps we usually have a dead week anyway before proper vacations begin.
The winner of the Overkill theme will still get one like normal, and Season 9 will begin with last week's winner: my fellow mod ThisOtherGuyTox.

In regards to the finalists, I like that most of the entries I voted for made it to the end: Cheese, Demon, Wailor, Scuba, and Progenitor all made it. Unfortunately for you guys, I also made it, so none of you will be receiving a follow-up vote from me lol :P

Maybe have the poll start on a different day? You did say that Tuesdays were especially vulnerable, and the dead days after a season ends would be a perfect time to implement such a change.
On another note, lots of submissions this week. Some are solid, others not so much, but that's what you get with so many finalists. I also think it's interesting that the top 2 cards are both Soulpriest interactions, though I went for Gonk's Chosen, Wardruid Loti (Feral Druid FTW), and Excessive Violence (objectively the best card ever made), with honorable mentions to Shadow Mend and Alleria of the Void.
I'm not sure how Twist of Fate's Overkill effect would work. Once you kill your hero, won't the game end immediately? The effect of setting your hero's health to 40 won't even trigger.

I like the idea behind shadow mend, those card who need a special condition to trigger are cool. The same way, inspiring champion is cool because it needs to be buffed.
I also like the flavor behind Abandon ship! , purging flame and overkrill.
All the cards can potentialy win but those 5 are the best for me.
Memedeck-seeker. Always tries to build new decks. Hates tournements, streamers, netdecks and poor-o players. ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!

Well, since Overkill works only on minions, this would not work at all (but given the lack of knowledge about how the keyword works when the comp started, it was decided that we let it slide); that being said if it did work, it would be pretty busted. Very easy way to get 40 hp. I suppose in the world of "destroy your hero", it might not seem as powerful, but dunno.
Anyway, most of the finalists r actually very good, im super happy about that. Only one card with Classic watermark ahaha, phew .. too bad tho, that one is actually very cool too.
To bring some precisions if anyone wonder, here is what blizzard officialy said about overkill:
Overkill is an ability introduced in the upcoming Rastakhan's Rumble expansion. Overkill activates whenever the card with the keyword deals damage to a minion exceeding its current Health and destroys it during your turn.
If an area of effect card with Overkill destroys multiple minions at the same time, the Overkill effect will trigger an additional time for each minion killed.
Cards can only activate their Overkill effects on the controlling player's turn.
Overkill effects on minions can trigger regardless of if the minion survives or not.

Sorry, I still don't get it - what do you mean by it heals the overkill?
My understanding of the card is that the Overkill effect could only ever trigger if you have Auchenai Soulpriest or Embrace the Shadow active, and your hero has less than 15 Health. So you heal your hero, the card Overkills your hero, and then the effect supposedly would trigger and set your hero's Health to 40 instead.
My point is that this would not work since your hero would be dead, and the game will be over, before the Overkill effect triggers.
(This is leaving aside the latest clarification that Overkill would only work on minions anyway - I'm questioning whether it would work even if Overkill could work on heroes)
I was understanding the same for the way it works. You need auchenai or something that turn heal into damage and then overkill apply. It simply can not trigger just by healing.
That said, if we consider the fact that overkill can kill a hero (who is not the case), it would trigger after the death of the hero. Your hero can have a negative amount of life, if the healing effect that trigger after put the hero at more than 0 hp, the hero is still alive. (that also works with minions). So it would works in that case. Here is a concrete exemple of resurection (start at 4:20):
Lots of excellent designs this time around. My votes for cards good enough to see play that aren't broken: Extortionist's Blade, Abandon Ship!, Overcharged Bolt, Purging Flame, Inspiring Champion, Gonk's Chosen, Gutspiller, & Wardruid Loti.
Honorable Mention: Overkrill. Balanced card on its own, but it would make Deathstalker Rexxar too powerful. Fun stuff though.

Has it been confirmed Overkill works on heals like that? Over healing feels like a different thing.

I just love Overcharged Bolt. Simple, elegant, card flavour on point, but with a clever twist. Perfection!
