Discussion Topic Rules
To make sure that everything runs smoothly, we need to reserve the Submission Topic for submissions only. Everything else goes here. What is everything else, you might ask?
Rules or Process. Do you have a question about the competition's process? Do you need clarification about one of the entry requirements? Are you not sure whether your entry adhered to the rules? Ask here!
Feedback or Ideas. Do you have some ideas you'd like to run by others before settling on one? Do you need help balancing or wording your entry? Do you need help finding art that will fit your card? Or do you just want feedback from the community on your entry? You're in the right place! Remember, although you are allowed to make minor tweaks to your entry after you've submitted it, you're only allowed one submission per week, so make sure that you've settled on your card for sure beforehand.
Discussion! Do you have thoughts on other people's entries? Are there directions you don't like that you're seeing too many people take? Or directions you'd like to see more people take? Would you like to help others and contribute to a greater community understanding of Hearthstone card design and balance? This is where you want to be!
All of that said, please refrain from the following:
Posting TONS of Ideas. Discussion topics become an absolute mess if everybody is posting a dozen different ideas. Please post not more than 3 distinct ideas at a time. Any more than that and we'll have to delete your post.
Advertising Your Entry. Please don't pop in here just to advertise your entry only to never be heard from again. This includes only asking short, generic, or insincere questions like "Thoughts?" or "Do you think this is interesting?". Yes, getting feedback on your entry is one of the purposes of this topic, but we're not just here for other people to help you. We're here for you all to help each other. 12 hours after this competition begins, there should be plenty of other posts here for you to give specific feedback or for you to comment on a trend. If you post your entry for feedback after this time and do not also offer some form of substantial commentary, critique, or praise of others' work, you may find your post deleted.
Plagiarism. Many people post their ideas here before finalizing them in the submission topic. Directly plagiarizing those ideas to post in the submission topic yourself is absolutely not acceptable.

Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
The benefit of participating in the Big Comps is that you can retool the cards you left by the wayside heh
This is only +1 mana over Stormwatcher (and trading Elemental synergy for Mech), but it's a class card and an Epic so hopefully that can justify the added effect in regards to cost.
Edit: If you think 8-mana is too high, I created a 6-mana version. If you don't like the Harvester at all, I now have Axil. He pushes a Token Druid that combines Mechs with Treants; the Magnetic benefits cards like Witchwood Apple.

Kind of reminds me of The Boogeymonster. Is that good or bad? The tree pun is kind of 'eh', trees aren't really harvested so much as felled. Axil is interesting, but it only applies to ones in hand so it'll be somewhat parasitic to Witchwood Apple, as the only other way to get treants in hand is to bounce them.
Splinter: Destroy your treants making them into splinters that randomly hits enemies. Root: Protects your Treants until your next turn, could be used to set up an OTK. War Club: Based on the WCIII spell where Mountain Giants uproot a tree and use it as a War Club. If buffed by any means you would equip a treant with the buffed stats. This card might be too OP.

It could also remind you of Giant Sand Worm, a better card :P Presumably Axil would also change the Treants on the table into Mechs, allowing you to interact with them via Magnetic or whatever. At least, that's the intention.
In my opinion Sapgrow kind of clashes with Cenarius, being a 9-mana Choose One Legendary with Treants as one option and a buff as the other. I also think the stats are too horrific: Bonemare gives +4/+4 and Taunt for 8 on a 5/5, and has no restriction as-to its target. Yours is a class Legendary with a very-specific target.

Should have named him Vicious Druid. Unleash the Hounds is 3 mana. 2 of them combined is 7 (3+3 and +1 for double value in one card). That makes this practicly a 1 mana 3/3 ,or 0 mana 3/3 if you add another combination cost But just like unleash, without a big enemy board, this is useless. Also it can't go face, so no trying to remake force of nature/savage roar.
Splinter's pretty cool; I like that one the most. It can also function toward an OTK, attacking with the Treants before you blow them up. You could also combo it with Living Mana to open fire with a C'Thun-like barrage (returning the mana afterward). That's 21 damage with two cards and 9 mana (7 for the full board, 2 left to play Splinter), so maybe drop the damage to 2.
War Club's primary usage would probably be to set off Twig of the World Tree early, and I don't know if I'm comfortable with that. I don't find Root very compelling to be honest, although the flavor is on-point. They all have solid flavor, really, so I would still vote for Splinter.

Are the Ancients considered treants for the sake of this competition or nah?
From what I gathered conversing with CheeseEtc, Yes: we are putting technicalities to the side for now and relaxing what is allowed. "Treant", in regards to this competition, can refer to the gameplay term or the flavor of living tree creatures.

Well, it seems my idea of transforming Treants into bigger minions is not so original, as 2 people already posted cards like that. My cards are simpler, though.
I think Miracle Fertilizer has better flavour, while Wicked Overgrowth has a cooler effect.
However, I can't give the "Transform Treants in your hand" effect to Miracle Fertilizer, as adding Treants to your hand is a Witchwood thing.
Maybe it should be 0/1 to make it easier to get rid of, but I felt this fits the whole nature/druid theme pretty well. When you play this, once your next turn starts, all the saplings become regular Treants. Any thoughts?
So I have a few rough ideas at the moment. So there is the gardener which can help to either create more treants or help them grow so to speak. I also have planting which will make a dormant treant, and when you play a spell it will become active (however I'm wondering if I should make it have a deathrattle which will return it back to it's dormant state).
Anyway any advice would be helpful.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
My Entry for this week's Card Design Competition - Season 8.16:
So I thought a direction to go into with Treants was the "growth, tending" aspect, y'know what better show of life than living trees? I though to demonstrate this theme in one of three ways. The Green Father has a Houndmaster Shaw type effect, more limited in scope, but makes up for it by giving himself the benefit, as well. His "This is a Treant" tag also lets him activate Dendrologist and Mulchmuncher.
Manwe, though combines cultivating health with the classic Druid flexibility, either restoring Health to your hero, or bolstering his own health and becoming just a big boy your opponent would have to get through. Finding the right wording for it, though, is tricky, since you want to get across that both options are affected by how many Treants died, and that he doesn't get the Taunt keyword multiple times, separately. So maybe, if there's no good wording for Manwe, the Witchwood Nymph is the way to go to at least get the Health Restoration effect.

Wicked Overgrowth - broken with Living Mana. Sorry, I need to read more carefully. Well, I don't remember the Witchwood Apple being a thing, so this card would hardly see play.

So, what's the general opinion on Treant synergy from pre-Boomsday sets?
Treant → Rotten Applebaum
The name is supposed to be a reference to Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life. Only, it's the opposite. It makes trees go bad.
jaswitzer97, if you're reading this, you gave me this idea.
