Meh, not even salty, was more annoyed than anything. I guess I just put too much work into making sure my cards match themes when I could just make pop culture refs on random effects XD
Glad I cucked you for this competition without even trying.
Boom's Guide to the Galaxy: too random an effect, IMO. There's a reason Blizz nerfed Yogg. Also, this one will continue to grow in power indefinitely as the game continues.
Tinderling: Well-balanced mechanically, and a well-executed pun. Voted for this one.
Pi-Rat: Why is it a Pirate and not a Beast? Also, it's far too swingy for my tastes. Depending on your opener, this could consistently vary from a 1/4 to a 9/4 for 3 mana.
Do You Mind?: As intriguing as the effect is, I feel like it's too disruptive, especially because it doesn't have the risks associated with cards like Dirty Rat. Plus, this sort of card could be very frustrating to play against.
Megagma Rager: I'm tempted to give this one a vote for memes, but no, sorry, this is just too horrendously UP.
Deja-Moo: This one's a little on the weak side, but it's essentially a second, more value-oriented Hero Power (imagine +1 cost, +1/+1 on Paladin's Hero Power). Add in the Beast tag, and I think it's solid. The art isn't doing it any favors, but I voted for this one as well.
Leave Nofin Behind: Continuing the time-honored tradition, I see. The restriction of minion type, plus the fact that Murloc Warlock is generally in less need of board clears, makes the reduced cost quite fair. Voted for this one.
With My Bear Hands!: This would be incredibly powerful in Face Hunter, often netting 8 or even 12 damage for just 4 mana- so powerful I think Face Hunter would return to the meta because of this card alone... But the real problem is that, per the wording on the card, this effect is active on your opponent's turn. Let that sink in.
Today in my free brawl pack I got Barongeddon, then I had a cup of fresh green tea. As a result of that, I think Priest is OP because my keyboard is not a mechanical one. I hope Blizzard will address this issue.
Hey it s not disruptive, it costs 6 mana. In a control match up it is useless, how many cards cost less than 4 mana? And then, also if you manage to play 1, wasn t mind control just better? It s a control tool against aggro if you manage to survive until turn 10, so you can gain value from this card. It s very similar to Lay On Hands in this sense.
"The flow of time is always cruel... its speed seems different for each person, but no one can change it... A thing that does not change with time is a memory of younger days..."
I think puns should have been explained here, because some design wont be understood (like tinderling, its hard to know what is the pun whitout reading the explanation, or mine PI-rat people may not pay attention of the 3,14 stats and just see a name that look like pirate)
I always reach final poll but didn't manage to win a single WCDC yet
least you reach the poll :/ I mean "Booms guide to the galaxy" isnt even a pun, they replaced "Boom" with "hitchhiker" idk how that should count, and not a dragon based card called "Tip the Scales"
i think booms guide to the galaxy is a pun. it is just as much a pun as leave nofin behind. where they just changed "nothing" to "nofin". replacing one word with another to make to new message, but similar to the other one is what a pun is.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.
Nope, i dont think its a pun. Are Star Aligner Wars, Star Aligner Trek, Goblin of the Galaxy, Starship Treants also puns? If yes, then Boom's etc is a pun also.

Storm Trooper would’ve been a good Shaman minion though.
And thanks to the mods for running this theme even if not thrilled about it, was fun to see what people came up with. I’ve been at a conference since Sunday so I apologize for not being as active in the threads and for not selecting a Wildcard entry.

You don't understand what a pun is. A pun refers to a joke that exploits the different possible meanings of a word or words which sound alike but have different meanings: https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/pun
Leave nofin behind is a pun because it exploits the fact that "nofin" sounds like "nothing".
Tinderling is a pun because "Tinder" has multiple meanings (it refers both to the dating app and flammable material) and both are referenced in the card (the art is of firewood while the effect references the way the dating app works).
Simply replacing a word in a well-known phrase or book title is not a pun unless the replacement word sounds like the original word. "Boom" sounds nothing like "Hitchhiker" so "Boom's Guide to the Galaxy" is not a pun.
(P/S: I'm not saying that Boom's Guide shouldn't qualify because the competition rules simply require a pun or a "play-on-words", the latter of which is quite vague and broad. But I would give more points to cards that actually are clever puns, like Tinderling.)
Oof, I forgot to submit my card before the deadline. I voted for the Bear Hands card because it gave me a good laugh, but kudos to Tinderling and Deja-Moo on the clever concepts. Looking forward to see the winner, and what the next contest is.
Edit: Just noticed the stats of Pi-Rat. Welp, time to change my vote.
Tinderling complies just fine. It’s a choose one effect like Keeper of the Grove.
Glad I cucked you for this competition without even trying.
I love Tinderling, but it needs a 'Battlecry' in front of it's text. :P

I'm not sure what do you mean... Choose One always works on play, so it's like a Battlecry.
Anyway, it's my fav card, its design is really clever and fits the pun very well... Even though I don't use Tinder :_D

Love the tribes.
Troll creations seems to always make it, no matter what.
You sound irritated...
Come visit my Card Emporium. Strange things, you will find inside...
Come take the test, if you're daring. Feel free to show me your results in a message.

Why is the rum gone?

Tinderling and Pi-rat are the most creative cards in a while. Really well done and could be a real card
