Was originally going to call this "Behead", but felt that some people would think a name like that would feel inappropriate on a Hearthstone card. I really liked the idea of a falling star with Druid, but started to get the idea for a card where you're taking the head off of an incredibly important character, like the head of a Queen. I also didn't like that Druid had a number of cards that referenced stars, not to mention, Warrior doesn't have much removal. Wanted to stay around the theme of a card where you're beheading something. I couldn't rationalize a minion being bigger being the reason it's destroyed. Thought a bit about how the design focuses on revealing a high number, and how Hearthstone is not just a game notorious for being luck based, but references a game that features systems seen in Dungeons and Dragons. When rolling a high number using dice, the higher the number, the better the result. A Critical Hit can end some encounters.
When you play Critical Hit! as a Warrior, all you really need to see is a high number to instantly win.
Critical Hit!
For the high-roll Chad Warrior players among you.
Some thoughts on my submission: Did you know that
Howling Commander
is actually a card? ;) Well i tried to improve on the concept of a
Divine Shield
paladin archetype, and came up with General Turalyon. If the reveal doesn't trigger, its an overcosted
C'Thun's Chosen
.
if there is no cards in one hand, it reveals a card from the other hand, but whiffs, and keeps the mana cost the same.
Edit: switched from to in, and capitalized the name.
Keywords are bold-faced words, for example, Battlecry , Taunt , Overload , Discover , etc.
Synergies include : Al'Akir the Windlord , Corpsetaker , Finders Keepers , Volcano , Doomhammer
Because Shaman has the Overload mechanic, its cards tend to have more keywords, thus making this joust mechanic favorable for Shaman.
Flavor Text: P-Please... Just one m-more... turn...
He carefully jots down all the notes, but sometimes he still can't pass the exams.
Flavor: Yes, keep taunting me. My companions will enjoy a noisy meal...
"Because rolling a 1 is for losers."

This allows for interesting combos as you can somewhat controll which minion is revealed.
STATS =ATTACK AND HEALTH, NOT MANA. I wrote it this way to reduce text lenght.
(sorry i couldn't find a joke with lamia like the joke with gorgon zola).
Edit: Forgot to add battlecry
Silent Scout

However, as with all cards of this type, you can built your deck around it, so that you only "recruit" cards like Tirion Fordring , Argent Commander , Crystal Lion , Gilnean Royal Guard , Sunwalker or The Glass Knight . Hell, even Ghostly Charger might become viable.... One can dream! :)
Such a deck would naturally run Prince Keleseth to beef up all those Divine Shield minions... Oh, the value (and tempo!) :)
Hope you like it, and good luck to all competitors!
