Preview Phase (Starts Now! Ends 21:00 UTC 5/07/18) During this Phase, the Discussion Topic is made available, previewing this week's competition theme. Entry and Early Voting Phase (Starts 21:00 UTC 5/07/18, Ends 21:00 UTC 9/07/18) During this Phase, the Submission Topic is made available for your submissions. You may also, of course, feel free to give early up-votes to any submissions that you like! Instead, use this time to browse the submissions and up-vote your favorites! Final Phase (Starts 21:00 UTC 10/07/18, Ends 21:00 UTC 11/07/18) During this Phase, the Discussion Topic will also be locked, and a new Poll Topic will go up. Discussion Topic Rules
To make sure that everything runs smoothly, we need to reserve the Submission Topic for submissions only. Everything else goes here. What is everything else, you might ask?
Rules or Process. Do you have a question about the competition's process? Do you need clarification about one of the entry requirements? Are you not sure whether your entry adhered to the rules? Ask here!
Feedback or Ideas. Do you have some ideas you'd like to run by others before settling on one? Do you need help balancing or wording your entry? Do you need help finding art that will fit your card? Or do you just want feedback from the community on your entry? You're in the right place! Remember, although you are allowed to make minor tweaks to your entry after you've submitted it, you're only allowed one submission per week, so make sure that you've settled on your card for sure beforehand.
Discussion! Do you have thoughts on other people's entries? Are there directions you don't like that you're seeing too many people take? Or directions you'd like to see more people take? Would you like to help others and contribute to a greater community understanding of Hearthstone card design and balance? This is where you want to be!
All of that said, please refrain from the following:
Posting TONS of Ideas. Discussion topics become an absolute mess if everybody is posting a dozen different ideas. Please post not more than 3 distinct ideas at a time. Any more than that and we'll have to delete your post.
Advertising Your Entry. Please don't pop in here just to advertise your entry only to never be heard from again. This includes only asking short, generic, or insincere questions like "Thoughts?" or "Do you think this is interesting?". Yes, getting feedback on your entry is one of the purposes of this topic, but we're not just here for other people to help you. We're here for you all to help each other. 12 hours after this competition begins, there should be plenty of other posts here for you to give specific feedback or for you to comment on a trend. If you post your entry for feedback after this time and do not also offer some form of substantial commentary, critique, or praise of others' work, you may find your post deleted.
Plagiarism. Many people post their ideas here before finalizing them in the submission topic. Directly plagiarizing those ideas to post in the submission topic yourself is absolutely not acceptable.

Am I the only one, who thinks that designing board clears featuring this mechanic won't be that profitable, because they could turn into bland copies of Doom Pact?
inb4 Discarding the opponent's cards can be a really dangerous design. Not only does it make us fatigue faster, but it also disrupts a lot of combo decks. That's why I'm really eager to see some intuitive cards and original ideas.
oh and 1 more thing - I bet that someone will make something similar (battlecry -> deathrattle):
Well, at least i cant complain about deck attacks since it is literally the theme :D Im kinda interested if we get some rly innovative ideas being pushed to do this or just the regular "this makes it balanced" stuff :)
Give it to rogue (Assassinate) and increase its cost to 6. The issue I'm having with this is that this might not discard any cards from the opponent's deck, which is the theme of this week's competition after all. Imagine how this card removes the copies from the hand instead.
It reminds me of a card "Echo. Do nothing." from one competition. First thoughts: What? How does it make sense, why so many upvotes? And then i thought about all synergies like Edvin or Auctioneer. Although, the only possible use i see for this card now is in King Toggwaggle decks (or to discourage players to put yogg or deck of wonders in their deck), but i'll probably find something more. I think it will find place in final poll
I came up with a (weird ?) idea for this one. Not very happy with the wording (I don't recall any existing card with 3 comma in it's text), but I couldn't think of anything better for now.
So it's a new sort of defensive tool for the warrior class. Basically, the idea is that you give your hero a sort of hyper divine shield that last until your next turn and negate all damage you should take from any source, BUT, in exchange, you burn a card each time that happen.
Honestly I think the idea have quite some depth to it's possible application: it would effectively work as an ice bloc during fatigue battles where there is no card in the deck anymore, or it could be use in situation where you don't want to loose your armor because you have an upcomming Shield Slam/Reckless Flurry the next turn, or to save tremendous amount of life against a big giant or deathwing in exchange of only one card burned, or for a weird combination with Fool's Bane in some critical situations, etc etc...
So here are my early ideas. I will comment on this thread a bit more, as soon as I finish my exams. k thx
Tokens:
Inb4 if some of those don't feel that interesting, I will come up w/ something new this weekend.
[edit] I will gladly return the feedback. 1) The card may be too punishing, but removing the opponent's cards from their deck is very disruptive enough. This is very effective against control and especially against combo. I wanted to design a card, which compensated this massive effect. 2) See Fireguard Destroyer. 3) One of my early designs. I think that removing 2 cards is just right.
[edit 2] I haven't spoken in English for a very long time. Is the text in the first 2 cards grammatically correct?
If you personally ask me - it's really OP. Discarding the opponent's cards is a big deal, you make them fatigue faster and disrupt their win-condition. Dunno what advice I could give you - even if you increased its cost, priests would still include it for some Circle of Healing shenanigans.
As a warlock main I really love to play those girls so I can't relate to a such statement. But you have to admit, that each of them remove only one resource*, while your one has the potential to discard more.

A stronger version for the first card would be:
"For every card in your hand remove that many cards from both players' decks". But isn't it kinda unfair when looking this in the context of handlock? The warlock player will tap and tap - eventually they will reach the end of their deck and then they'll play this card. They don't have anything to lose, do they?

I was thinking the same thing. "Eww, Mill is gross...but I have to do it so here we go..." Here's my current idea:
Think the stats might be too low, though. You could steal their King Krush...or their Stitched Tracker. Woo.
Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3

You can find me here! Good luck everyone!
If I really wanted to, I could submit The Lone Hunt again. Probably won't do that though.

A bit too much? Higher cost or discard alltogether? Maybe legendary?

So reword it a bit.
ezdubs
Wished to be pink.
Then did.
Then fired myself.
Then did again.
Tiny Knight of Evil approves.
So Phoenix, what purpose does discard your deck serve exactly? XD other than that, absolutely amazing card.
Just to get the ball rolling, here's the first idea I was proud of:
Suddenly, going full Northshire doesn't seem that bad.

Try telling that to everyone who says Gnomeferatu is just a vanilla 2 mana 2/3.
But I see your point, I was a bit on the verge myself when I made it.

I despise deck destruction mechanics in this game. But if we're gonna do it, might as well go all out and have some fun with it...
