Hello everybody! This topic is for discussion of our "Season's Feedings" mini-competition. To make sure that everything runs smoothly, we need to reserve the Submission Topic for submissions only. Everything else goes here. What is everything else, you might ask?
Rules or Process. Do you have a question about the competition's process? Do you need clarification about one of the entry requirements? Are you not sure whether your entry adhered to the rules? Ask here!
Feedback or Ideas. Do you have some ideas you'd like to run by others before settling on one? Do you need help balancing or wording your entry? Do you need help finding art that will fit your card? Or do you just want feedback from the community on your entry? You're in the right place! Remember, although you are allowed to make minor tweaks to your entry after you've submitted it, you're only allowed one submission per week, so make sure that you've settled on your card for sure beforehand.
Discussion! Do you have thoughts on other people's entries? Are there directions you don't like that you're seeing too many people take? Or directions you'd like to see more people take? Would you like to help others and contribute to a greater community understanding of Hearthstone card design and balance? This is where you want to be!
All of that said, please refrain from the following:
Posting TONS of Ideas. Discussion topics become an absolute mess if everybody is posting a dozen different ideas. Please post not more than 3 distinct ideas at a time. Any more than that and we'll have to delete your post.
Advertising Your Entry. Please don't pop in here just to advertise your entry only to never be heard from again. This includes only asking short, generic, or insincere questions like "Thoughts?" or "Do you think this is interesting?". Yes, getting feedback on your entry is one of the purposes of this topic, but we're not just here for other people to help you. We're here for you all to help each other. 12 hours after this competition begins, there should be plenty of other posts here for you to give specific feedback or for you to comment on a trend. If you post your entry for feedback after this time and do not also offer some form of substantial commentary, critique, or praise of others' work, you may find your post deleted.
Plagiarism. Many people post their ideas here before finalizing them in the submission topic. Directly plagiarizing those ideas to post in the submission topic yourself is absolutely not acceptable.
So, without further ado, have fun and get creating!
From the Nether's Heart, I stab at thee. For hate's sake, I spend my last Health on thee!
"Who's gonna knock you down?" "No one!" "When are you going to fight back?" "Never!" "What are ya gonna do!?" "Nothing!" "That's my boy!"
Someone's been a bad, naughty little ghoul. Needs to be punished.
So the first one's a classic literature quote, the second one's a Simpsons quote, and the third one's just an easy BDSM joke. My inclination is to the first one, but humor is subjective, so, thoughts?

I don't think a Death Knight card can have flavor text.

Personally I like the 1st quote the most as it fits with the card very well flavor wise while still having a funny twist on the quote while the other two seem off and not the most flavorful at least compared to the first one.
Also thoughts on this anyone?
"Quoth the raven, Nevermo- wait that's a different raven"

I hear the first line in Khan's voice, so I'm inclined to pick that one. That said, the quote for Pacifist's War is also on-point. Not helpful opinion: they're both good; either one could be a winner.

I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
"The most clever trap is to leave a single gold coin in an empty room, and let the adventurer's paranoia do all the work."
From an actual D&D experience I witnessed.

"Quoth the raven, Nevermo- wait that's a different raven"
I recommend that it would be more amusing if Quoth the Raven some entirely different literary or pop culture reference. Maybe "Quoth THIS Raven..." The "Oh wait that's the other guy" is a bit obvious of a joke.
"The most clever trap is to leave a single gold coin in an empty room, and let the adventurer's paranoia do all the work."

I always thought the most clever trap was the Sphere of Annihilation being in the statue's mouth in Tomb of Horrors. Player paranoia is a rich vein of tabletop RPG stories.
@ShatterStar - Of direct pastiches on "The Raven," this is the kind of twist on it I like. That said, I like Midas the most, I think either the Midas or Evermore flavor text is one to go forward with. (Although, Midas did choose the Gold Life. Oh, how he wish he hadn't)

That's definitely a good one, and memorable, but it's even less succinct than my own example lol

@Cogito_Ergo_Sum - Thor Ragnarok was a layup for flavor text spoofs for Helya and Odyn, but I just couldn't think of any succinct and punchy enough. The other two flavour texts are very good, though. I especially love a good science joke with Waxed Lord (my recommendation is that it doesn't necessarily need all caps), and it's the most unique of the three compared to what's been submitted so far, but Griftah might be the one to get the most votes, and for good reason what with a bad pun and a subtle hint that it's got more value beyond memes.

So I have an idea. Funny or lame as a potato?

My Entry for this week's Card Design Competition - Season 8.16:
Oh, I wasn't sure if this would be today or tomorrow. So, I have 3 flavor texts. What's best?
It seems quiet until your opponent plays a 12/12 Edwin VanCleef.
It's a trap!
Griftah be the Giftah.
I did have a few others, but these were the best ones I had.

@Demonxz95 - Of the three, I'd say Griftah's is the best. Punchiest, most amusing, and doesn't spell out the use case.
This is by far the hardest comp for me. English isn't my main language, I don't know the jokes and everything. But it will be fun to watch.
"Quoth the raven, Nevermo- wait that's a different raven"
"Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, cast twice or Counter-y"
"I didn't choose the Gold life. The gold life chose me."

How in the hell do you paste the cards to your posts for this?

Hmmm, your thoughts?
Helya: "Tell me Thrall. What were you the god of again?"
*Lightning crackles*
Thrall: "Oh Hel Ya!"
Never look a Grift horse in the mouth.
