For a controlish dragon hunter to succeed, they need card draw. So here's a bow that gives you a dragon on dying which also gives you a dragon on dying.
My card is Feranor, Dragonhunter, based off the questline from World of Warcraft, in which you have to hunt down Searinox and retrieve his heart. It's a bit of a complicated card, but I think it captures a great flavor, and has provides a powerful effect for the Control Hunter deck we've all dreamed of.
Ysera has fallen to the Emerald Nightmare's corruption! She now returns to the land of mortals, to infest this world with evil and instill terror in the minds of dragon, beast and man alike.
Gameplay-wise Nightmare Ysera is pretty slow for a Hero card; it would be the only one whose
Battlecry
has zero immediate impact. However, it has numerous benefits:
Provides a lasting effect for your Dragon Hunter (you're always holding a Dragon).
Refills your hand with minions that benefit from the lasting effect (the Scaleworms).
Has inherent Beast synergy with the Scaleworms, to use
Kill Command
and the like.
The passive Hero Power gives the Hunter what s/he badly wants: card draw.
Behold, foolish interlopers! I am commanding this mortal to spread the will of the Scourge throughout the interwebs, encouraging you to seek out me, Archlich Kel'Thuzad! Now coming to you as the tenth class of Hearthstone!
I am a finalist in this Class Creation Competition, so if you could give it a look I would be greatly appreciative <3
It seems when Blizzard intends to push a more control based archetype, strong effects on 3/6 bodies are the way to go. So, is this effect strong enough? The base concept is simply that as long as the Denmother is on board, it's still keeping a dragon in your hand (It's the sam effect style as
Valeera the Hollow
's Hero power), which was a large strength of the
Netherspite Historian
while also providing the flexibility of having an extra 1 damage to throw against an enemy minion if the need arises.
Makes it possible to get
Emeriss
out on T8, which is huge. Yes, I crafted Emeriss and it is a “I win card”… but T10 is a long wait to play it, getting it out sooner is the synergy that he needs. Or if played after T10, leaves much needed 2 mana at the end of the turn.
In addition, it gives a tempo advantage throughout the game, if played early.
Faerie Dragon
is a free cast, and
Marsh Drake
a 1-cost. (
Carrion Drake
, 3-cost. And makes late mid-game dragons like
Bone Drake
, and early mid-game play.
The
stealth
and 4 health make it difficult to remove, so that it can stick around and do it’s thing, while staying within balance guidelines.
The idea is that when you play a minion after playing this
secret
your opponent sees just a paper dragon instead. The stats and effect are hidden but their consequences are not. Battlecries, end of turn effects, buffs... they will all work normally so it's up to your opponent to guess what card is behind the Paper Dragon.
An extra bonus of the card is that being a
secret
your opponent might thing that it's something else if you haven't played a minion yet. Another important piece of information is that the
secret
will be revealed when the minion is damaged or destroyed.
Potential strong options with this card would be anything with Poisonous such as
Stoneskin Basilisk
or
Doomsayer
but the possibilities are endless.
My entry. Enyoy!
The bones of this bow is made from what now??
Bone Drake

Token:
Serves as good damage source and minion generator. Whelps can be good for board presence, Quest completion and Dragon-holding synergy.
This card can be very powerful in dragon hunter if you can make a deck around it.

Also, sorry for the terrible art recoloring.

It is a Beast so that it can be pulled by Kathrena Winterwisp , and a 1 attack so could be pulled by Master Oakheart .
So to be clear, dragons in both your hand and deck become 5/5 versions of themselves and cost (5). They still retain all of their printed abilities.
