Hey, guys, so I got inspired by the new mechanic to design the following cards. If I come up with more ideas, I will post them here. Enjoy.
Small notes:
1) This card rewards the player for dumping their own hand. I don't think it's that problematic since if you coin this on turn 1, then you will have lost 2 cards along the way. If someone is worried, then I might lower its health to 2.
3) A bit more controllable Spreading Madness + weaker Volcano effect + the Echo mechanic. I would expect to see something like this from the upcoming expansion, since Echo goes well with cheap cards and we all know, that the cheapest removals are part of the shaman class (for a price of course).
[edit] Thanks for all of the posters here, who shared their opinion on how to balance the cards. I will balance the mummy a bit later today.
Really cool ideas! But the cards are op in my opinion, except for Ancestral wrath (love the Grim Dawn art).
1) Cursed mummy should probably cost 2 mana, because having it at 1 mana may lead to a potential 21/21 board from just one card. Of course it can discard your whole hand but if you play it from an empty hand or simply don't care about your other cards then this is just not fair. And maybe stats should be adjusted to 3/2 or 2/3.
2) Mutual agony should be increased to 3 mana or the damage reduced to 2, because the card may lead to killing your opponents on turn 10 for example just because you have 16 hp and your opponent 15 hp.
I'm going to start with Mutual Agony - I have to agree, that especially in zoolock, since if you play against any control deck, they are the ones, who will constantly lose health, so the warlock player could be hurling those Darkbombs without any penalty At 3 mana I think it would be too underwhelming, since the reward is really insignificant for a such huge price. So I also think, that narrowing the damage to 2 is reasonable.
Cursed Mummy is a more attractive Succubus as a standalone body and in some cases a better Living Mana regarding the ability to make a wide board. But if you think about it, if you discard a card and let's say that has 1/1 stats, then this is a 2/2 body; not to mention, that dumping your hand and aiming to make a 21/21 board means, that you are playing this in the late-game, when your opponent will already have the ability to respond to it.
I really think, that this at 2 mana will be a lot worse Succubus and you will have a harder time to fill out your curve, just to increase the value of this minion. No, I don't think it will be problematic at 1, but I DO agree, that decreasing its health to 2 will make it more balanced, since even weak AoEs will be able to deal with the flood.
Mutual agony should be priest card since shadow priest is using this mechanic.
And can cursed mummy discard it's own echo copy? Can you just fill the board with it if you too deck it on turn 7 and you don't have anything else in hand?
If you click on this link, you will see, that when you cast Unstable Evolution, the effect goes off first and then you get the card back. So, no, you won't discard the Mummy, but yes, you can make a whole board out of it.
Ok, I'm not going to disagree about how prevalent 1-drops can be in HS (I just have to remember Small-Time Buccaneer to tell you, that you are right).
Echo cards should be slightly worse than their non-Echo counterparts, because they provide more value.
But a Squirming Tentacle isn't that bad on its own. It's just slightly under average or average regarding the power level in comparison to its mana cost. In constructed you don't care that much about plain bodies, which don't go in line with your deck strategy, so this card is outshined by better taunts (Tar Creeper, Hot Spring Guardian, Lone Champion) In arena this card can be an ok inclusion, if you don't have anything good to choose from. What I'm saying is - a 2 mana 3/2 body, which discards a random card, sounds really slow and thus devastating in a zoo deck. I would prefer Saronite Chain Gang over this Mummy, because I would profit a lot earlier from their effect and as a benefit I'm going to get 2 taunts w/o risking the cards in my hand.
Dunno, I just feel like my card should be either a 1 mana fragile 3/2 or maybe a 2 mana 3/3 body. Or a 2 mana 3/2 body w/o the Discard drawback, but the idea of this card was to include it in the first place.

1 and 2 are really op, as mentioned.
I love 3! Might increase to 3 overload, but overall a cool card that I'd love to see for some Control Shaman to become viable again.

Another version of the Mummy vs A suggested version
I thought for sure they would print something like this:
I was thinking something like Fire Fly, but after reading this thread... I don't even want to think about quest rogue, token druid,
Needs some finetuning, but I love the Mummy (maybe with 3/2).
Your ideas made me interested in those cards blizz will present and overall interested in the keyword.
Sorry for spam, I got new ideas and I wanted to post them. Not saying, that they are exciting or original, only new:
