Having been eliminated from the 2017-18 Class Competition, this creator has decided to continue making their own set. The Blizzard team would like to endorse all the cards included here as being super good.
1. Minions can have Armor. Through a variety of means, the Technician can pile Armor on top of a minion's Health, such that it can be as hardy as other minions might be, but its 'healthiness' (damaged or undamaged status) would not be affected. The key interactions this class has with minion Armor lie in the Fortified keyword, a minion based mechanic that gives a minion a bonus effect while it has armor. Similar to Enrage, this effect can be very powerful if you can keep your minions armored.
Here's what an armored minion looks like, as a card and on the battlefield (in the spoiler).
(just go with it as a Shaman card, it's for a demonstration)
2. Cards can be combined. The Weldable keyword allows the Technician to fuse cards together, in a way similar to how Zombeasts are created. A spell with Weldable can only be combined with another spell, and the same is true of minions and weapons. Hero Cards and Quests are exempt from being Weldable. Further explanation of how it works in the SPOILER BELOOWWWWWW
If the combined cost of a welded card would be greater than (10), it is not considered a viable card. If you don't have a viable option for a card to combine with, no options are presented and the card will be played as normal. Weldable is otherwise similar to Choose One, in that there will be two choices presented to you when the card is played:
or
Choosing Weld allows you to pick a viable card in your hand to combine with, by simply tapping on the card to magnify it and pressing a button to confirm. Upon fusion of two cards with Weldable, the result will combine two cards into one. Here are some examples:
and make
Nomenclature convention: The card with Weldable on it will be, more often than not, the second part of the fused card in wording and art (in some cases where the first word/phrase in the name of the weldable card is more important, that will be the one used). Card art is generated according to a transparency mask that is used as a filter to combine both arts. The Cost of the resulting card is simply an addition of the original card costs. Targeted effects are limited by whichever card has the most limited targeting. In order of priority: an enemy minion, a minion, a friendly minion. As you can see, while Piercing Round has more flexible targeting, Rocket Punch adds its own damage (3 + 1 = 4 QUICK MAFFS) and limits the targeting to 'a minion'.
and make
What's important to note here is that the tribe of the combined minion is always that of the Weldable one. Even if the second minion has no tribe, the combined minion that comes out of an Outlands Shredder is always a Mech. The same naming conventions follow as the spells. A slightly different combination art filter is used.
Alternatively the art of the card could just be the first one... Like Zombeasts are. But I made it more complicated HyperLUL
Once a card has been welded with another, you can not weld it to an additional card; you only get one shot, one opportunity. If you try to use a Weldable card on an already welded card, it is just not seen as viable and you can't use it.
SHOWCASE CARDS
So that's that. The rest of the cards are in the below posts.
Goblins take pride in the sport of 'Splodeboarding' which, naturally, involves explosions. Less so boarding than explosions.
Just a casual jog through a factory full of spontaneously exploding semi-sentient mechanical beings.
Not much is known about the piercing square.
"You want ME... to get inside THAT??"
Hit the Ground
Introduces armored minions in the class, and approaches them in much the same way that Warrior approaches damaged minions (and how Rogue approaches undamaged minions). If you're not mech'd up or covered in bits of funky metal, you don't deserve to be on the board!
Running Fast
A straight up buff spell. Good health bonus, even though it compares somewhat poorly to cards like Velen's Chosen.
Piercing Round
Darkbomb but with the simple caveat that if your opponent has 3 health and 10 armor, this 'pierces' the armor and kills your opponent. A bit of a cheat, you might say, but this is the only real card that does this. Gnome Rocket Just in case you want to play a combo deck with Malygos, or are looking for a free weld.
Remaining Basic cards:
Tokens:
Foundry Worker
Arc Welder
Kezan Fabulizer
Deathbot C474
Go on, gizza job.
Just apply a little plasma heat near the waist; don't worry, your Silverback Patriarch will be perfectly fine afterwards.
You look absolutely FABULOUS in that stick-of-dynamite tee and those gunpowder jeans!
While Deathwing was being vanquished in the Maelstrom, an enterprising Goblin picked up a few choice scraps of Elementium and a drop of the dragon's blood... What'd'ya know? Death Incarnate, good as new! Ish.
Common
An honest card, not necessarily a great one; it mimics Oasis Snapjaw as a 4/7, but moreso a Nesting Roc as a 5mana 4/7 Taunt. However, the extra attack is conditional on being 'armored' or healthy, and that makes this card less reliable than Nesting Roc. However, welds with high armor minions will make this more reliable.
Rare
As we all know, mashing cards together doesn't typically result in the most balanced cards. Putting a Silverback Patriarch and a Wicked Skeleton nets you a 7 mana 2/5 taunt with a poor condition, whereas a Cobalt Scalebane and a Dire Wolf Alpha is quite alright as a 7/7 with two reasonable attack effects. Thus, reducing the costs on your welded minions (but especially your welded spells) is something the class simply HAS to explore.
Epic
Supporting another aspect of the class— removal from deck— is a good start for a Classic set. What's more, since the cards are Weldable, this is one of the few ways to weld cards of your 'choice'— that is, while you remove cards to gain tempo, you can also get better versions of them. Legendary The class legendary, Deathbot C474, is effectively a reprint of Deathwing. The Technician has less access to armor gain than Warrior, so spending its Armor is less potentially expensive, but also more controllable for effects that can have different values. Utilizing your own armor to fuel 'Mechwing' is what Technician is about, in part— taking one thing and adding it to something else.
Remaining Classic cards:
No plagiarism here. 95% of these cards were made prior to January 15th. Any resemblance to a certain other 8/8 mechanized Deathwing in the actual competition is purely absolute coincidence as it happens :/
Deep Sea Diving, Tentacles of an Old God, Dirty Jobs.
I told you we should've closed that Saronite leak before we sprouted eyes.
"D.Va, there's a little man here... I feel like you might recognize him..."
"Turns out the Old Gods came with building instructions!"
Vashj'ir Shipwright
Yep, it doesn't buff Health, but that's because of the class challenge for this requires you not to add a +X/+X to C'Thun's stats. This card also provides potential for turn after turn C'Thun buffing. Quick note: The deathrattle effect occurs at the end of whichever turn the minion dies, so if it dies on your turn, you wouldn't get be able to play C'Thun with the buff until your next turn.
Seeping Saronite
GO INFINITE WITH YOGG FUEL! Of course it needs a minion target in order to be viable. A good target for this card to weld with is Social Safety.
Gnome Vortex
A corruption of Gnome Rocket (which used to be called 'Cannon Fodder'). If there are no targets to attack, you just get a random 2-Cost minion. Forbidden Blueprint Spend 10 mana to draw Y'Shaarj and Yogg-Saron? This card is very flexible in its use, and in my opinion, balanced.
Remaining WotOG cards:
Tainted Jormungling: Why does this have a 1/3 statline? Well, it's a 3 mana 5/5 delayed body with potential Mech synergy and it also possesses a Beast tag. Given you could potentially coin this out on turn 2 and play a 5/5 on turn 3, it needed to have weak stats. Deep Sea Mine: A simple damaging spell that will usually deal 4 damage. Saronite Merchant: Boulderfist Ogre that can cast your spells with no mana spent, but unfortunately it has random targets so it's kind of a downside when you eat up cards from your hand. It will always cast the 'unwelded' version of a Weldable spell, never choosing to combine it (the same is true of Yogg-Saron). Hijacked Reaver: Balance was hard on this one. There are enough mech minions in this class to justify 7/7 in stats on this minion for the effect, and it was hard to find a balance between summoning copies of mechs and an acceptable downside; turns out shuffling cards from your hand into your deck is akin to discarding them, so +2/+1 and a copy effect are fine. Geddon, Forgemaster: A simple symmetrical effect, an 'uncorrupt' Baron Geddon (or corrupt?). Very useful for activating Fortified, especially when your opponent will usually have a harder time breaking through your armor (as your minions can come with armor pre-equipped).
Gadgetzan Portal
Onyx Phalanx
Ovenfire Golem
Don't go through the portal! Spoilers!
"Knight to A3 and your Knight is my Knight now!" "What?! You can't do that!" "Watch me."
The middle sibling in the Kitchenware Family. Older than Silverware Golem, but younger than Dishwasher Golem.
Gadgetzan Portal
Pretty simple portal spell— good for activating Fortified effects.
Onyx Phalanx
A 'damaging card' is any card that deals damage, from Elven Archer to Gnome Rocket— but only neutral and Technician cards. The 'cast a spell to switch' is meant to convey the strategic nature of chess, as you need to know what you want it to do by determining how many spells you'll cast before playing this (it's an in hand effect of course). Ovenfire Golem Remove your deck? psshht. Just summon it instead.
Only two cards from MSoG will be showcased, as it's boring (unless I decide to do an alternate version with a new gang sometime in the distant future)
Animated Undertaker [Rare]
Bone Forge [Epic]
Usually bombs hurt, but it turns out this is actually a confetti one. Makes minions feel happy.
Some question why the Coin is labelled as the preferred choice over the Bomb. All I can tell you is this Casino's RIGGED!
Golden Bomb
Designed for Weldable synergies as well as deathrattle synergies, this positions the class a) as a member of the Grimy Goons, b) as a user of powerful single-target handbuffs rather than weaker multiple-target ones, and c) as a class that can go for a long time with its handbuffs.
Casino Manager
A source of Golden Bombs apart from the card itself, this is designed to be used with cards that grant Armor immediately. You're definitely taking a gamble on the power level of this card!
Remaining MSoG cards:
Forest Crystal
Venture Clearcutter
Fire Plume Guardian
Reclaiming Sholazar
"IS THIS THE LEGENDARY GEMSTONE OF—?" "No, it's just a normal crystal. Don't worry about it."
"That's a nice forest you got there. Would be a shame if something was to happen to it, eh?"
He likes welding so much, his face is actually a welding mask. That's dedication.
As the adventurer hiked through the jungle, they noticed an odd-looking rock. "Hey, it kind of looks like it has eyes! OH MY GOD IT HAS EYES!!"
Forest Crystal
The essence of Un'Goro in one card! I wonder how useful this could be...
Venture Clearcutter
He might have evil intent, wanting to cut down the forest for profit, but his pockets are stuffed full of valuable minerals and botanical samples from Un'Goro.
Fire Plume Guardian
It's technically a 6/6... More useful welded than otherwise!
Reclaiming Sholazar (the Quest) Encourages a Weld deck that uses token spells and minion to achieve an end-game reward that also rewards playing lots of cards. The reward, a permanent minion that slow-burns your opponent, is in the spoiler.
I've decided to showcase 3 cards from each of the last sets in this post. That makes six cards, so I think that's fair.
Lich King cheat card.
Animated Undertaker [Rare]
Bone Forge [Epic]
Oglethorpe, Soul Reaper [DK]
The undead are only prepared to conduct an invasion of the living world if they've unionized.
Lord Marrowgar's very favourite place in Icecrown.
"You think your iron doors and metal forges are enough... pitiful. When the ancient words are written out, all stone will sunder at my will, and your souls will be mine... to be uttered as my next command."
Card Explanations & Tokens:
Animated Undertaker aims to advance a new archetype for Technician. Previously, Technician has been focused on control and late game value, by playing weldable cards and outlasting their opponent by creating infinite value cards (ones that recycle themselves, such as Seeping Saronite). This new archetype will encourage a midrange value deck that enables board buffs like Defensive Turn to be quite useful.
Bone Forge is a multi-use card that combos well with the 1/1 archetype, allowing you to fish for a powerful deathrattle on a board of 7 weak minions. However, it can also be used in more traditional Technician decks, such that you need not build around it too much.
Oglethorpe, Soul Reaper is the culmination of Technicians's "spell-value" forging capability. This is his Hero Power:
And these are the 3 kinds of Runes he shuffles into your deck. 5 of each will always be shuffled.
As you can see, they are of different power levels and allow for an 'all-in-one' game where drawing Runes allows you to essentially play the game without your deck. Blood Rune is meant to act as direct burn and healing to help finish the game (similar to Bloodreaver Gul'dan's hero power). Unholy Rune is AOE that also helps you establish a board presence. Frost Rune helps you stall whilst you wait for more useful cards, and two can be used to clear the board entirely. Importantly, when welded these cards are still recognized as Runes, so the Hero Power will draw welded versions (e.g. with Seeping Saronite) from your deck.
Remaining KFT cards:
Tokens: Grave Rallier: Skeleton Algalon the Observer: (note: these tokens represent Chef, Sea Witch, Summoner, and Necromancer)
Legendary Hoarder [Rare]
Lesser Peridot Spellstone [Rare]
Mechwing's Head [Weapon]
The Lich King swore he'd only left Frostmourne on the kitchen counter.
In depths of caverns all too old A gleaming gem, gilt in gold It lights the path up to the surface But who does know its evil purpose?
Careful, it bites!
Card Explanations & Tokens:
Legendary Hoarder allows for a kind of weapon interaction that we haven't seen yet. Not only does it target your own weapons, it targets your opponent's. This is useful because the legendary weapon is the Technician's only weapon, but that shouldn't stop him from using someone elses— imagine getting a Gorehowl or Shadowmourne off of this? Notably weak against rogue (1/2 daggers being equipped every turn makes it highly likely that's what you'll get— and Kingsbane will also be useless as you won't get its buffs). Also potentially weak against the '0-attack' weapons, unless you've managed to ooze your opponent to pull off a 'weapon steal' combo. Similar to Rummaging Kobold.
Lesser Peridot Spellstone is another way to generate spell value. By welding spells together in your hand and then playing this, you have the ability to keep chaining your value all the way to the bank. The method of activation originates from the class' propensity for Fortified minions with end of turn effects. However, if you don't like putting armored minions in your deck (even though they are above-average in base stats most of the time), you can use other popular end of turn cards (The Lich King for example, Ysera). Upgrades:
Mechwing's Head also encourages a similar archetype to that of the spellstone; Big Technician. By running cards like Fel Reaver or Keening Banshee on or after curve with this, you can pull out major threats like Deathwing or Hijacked Reaver (a card which already has pretty high base stats).
Remaining K&C cards:
Hope everyone enjoys these last challenge cards. I'll be reformatting the rest of the posts to conform with this style.
This a very well thought out set. It seems very balanced. You could almost incorporate these cards straight into the warrior class. I do love the idea of alternate hero powers and giving minions armor. The keywords seem reasonable as well. The only question I have is about Ovenfire Golem. How exactly do you intend this to work? When it is drawn naturally or unnaturally (through card draw)? A turn 1 4/4 is unfair and not balanced! What if it is burned by the 10 card limit? Also what about the Joust mechanic where it is temporarily removed? It is a nice counter to Death Grip. If it recruited would you get an extra copy? I think you need to reword this one and consider some of these questions when you decide how powerful you want this card to be. Otherwise, great job!

I actually meant when a card is removed from your deck through Fel Reaver or Keening Banshee, which are actually coded differently than on draw effects or mill effects. Joust is just a visual effect, no card exits your deck mid-joust. What you're talking about is actually an interesting mechanic, but this is a whole lot more vanilla lol.
Anyway it's true that it could be an extension of the warrior class, but then again warrior would get a little 'busy' with all the charge, pirates, enrage, damaged minions synergy and whirlwinds. So plonk a new name and card border on it and we're good *ok sign with fingers emoji*

Ok. I understand now. I forgot about Banshee and Reaver wording. The card is fine then.
I didnt want to say anything before, but i guess now i can ... why in the hell did u not name the class Teknician in the first place?:D Such a missed opportunity lol :D But i guess it worked out with your name change, but at that time ... damn, that would have been gold :D
Anyway, good luck on completing your class, i'll be glad to check it out once its finished. I loved the idea of "ignores armor", that was one of my favourite mechanics in the comp.
This class is awesome. I love the ideas of new and unique class cores, like my Control-based Pirate class. You made this so well I wish this was in the game. I love any kind of control, my favorites being Renolock and Classic Control Warrior. In fact, I'm going to be, over time, making multiple classes based on a control philosophy xD
Honestly, I can't wait to see where you go with this. It's your awesome cards that inspire me :D

Heh, didn't want to be too on the nose about the name of the class :P whenever I play multiplayer games people can't seem to understand how to pronounce it— I don't know why but they always just say "Tecny-kun" or "Tech-nican". Rooting for you in the actual competition Sinti, we've been missing an arena champion class in this game goddamnit.
And thanks Equinox! :3 I myself hate having games over by turn 4 so this is one of the classes for that lol.
EDIT:JUST REMEMBERED WHY I CAME HERE! Basic and Classic set are up in the second post.
(the extra +2/+2 is from the Questing Adventurer itself which generates its own enchantment for each card played by its owner while it exists; since the Blessing of Kings and Purifier's Maul had been played, it gained +1/+1 for each).
Aside from that, I believe the Classic set is fit for full review.
I was wondering if you could weld any weldable minion with any other minion, wouldn't it be too text heavy? Cool class, sucks you didn't make it.
 Yes, you could (unless it was a Weldable minion, or a minion already welded). When you zoom over the text however it might expand to show the two parent cards... But I'm trying to limit the library of cards that can be welded, primarily by means of making weldable cards that don't have too much text.
UPDATE: Added cards for the Whispers of the Old Gods expansion, and the Karazhan adventure.
Casino Manager: Nice flavor, except that it's weird that you would rather have the bomb than the coin. Fun fact: I hesitated to make a casino gang.
Auto Reaver: Oh yeah, definitely gonna steal that.
The Undertinker: I love the pun, however I think it's very underpowered as a legendary for the same reason Geoscupltor Yip is underpowered: it's difficult to keep armor... Also the effect doesn't look legendary-worthy.
Overall
The fact that you chose to go with the Grimy Goons, the most boring gang, is bringing your set down. The cards are nice but not very interesting.
UN'Goro
Individual cards
Forest Crystal: This is really weak. I get that this is your go-to quest completer but this doesn't justify the cost imo (unless I don't understand the weld mechanic?)
Living Book: That is too weird and not appealing
The Entmydian: lel hunter bottom card
Overall
I prefer this set to MSG. The quest is cool and original.
So that's that. The rest of the cards are in the below posts.

The fact that you chose to go with the Grimy Goons, the most boring gang, is bringing your set down. The cards are nice but not very interesting.

I prefer this set to MSG. The quest is cool and original.
