The Second War began when the orcs (who fled to Kalimdor after their defeat during the first war) came back to the Eastern Kingdoms with trolls, goblins, and ogres on their side. They fought against the Alliance of Lordaeron consisting of humans, the elves of Quel'thalas, the gnomes, and the dwarves. The only major victory the Horde had during this time was in the dwarven controlled area of Khaz Modan where they steamrolled through the dwarven numbers. Orgrim Doomhammer was eventually defeated in Blackrock Spire in the Burning Steepes (Blackrock Spire is located inside Blackrock Mountain)
The Third War began when Thrall released the orcs from internment camps (they were put there after the Second War). During this time, the Cult of the Damned had formed and, led by Kel'thuzad and Arthas, took over Dalaran and used it's magical properties to summon Archimonde, one of the demonic leaders of the Burning Legion. Eventually realizing the threat of the Burning Legion, the Alliance and Horde (along with the Night Elves who fought against both) went to Mount Hyjal where Archimonde was attempting to sap the power from the World Tree and defeated him using the Horn of Cenarius.
The Legion has invaded Azeroth once again and Protection Warriors are able to pick up the Scale of Neltharion (Deathwing before the Old Gods corrupted him). King Magnar Icebreaker of the Vrykul once ventured into the Lair of Neltharion to explore what treasures could be inside. He and his party waited until Neltharion left before entering his lair but were greeted by Neltharion's brood. Eventually, Deathwing himself went back to his lair and attempted to kill the party by breathing fire upon them. Magnar shielded himself from the fire with one of Neltharion's scales but the force of the attack was strong enough to knock him far away from the cave. Magnar would become a blacksmith and use the scale to create a powerful shield and sword (known as the Scale of Neltharion and the Scaleshard).
Plunder Isle is an island located south of the Maelstrom, near the Eastern Kingdoms. Although adventurers have never step foot on the island, it is known that it is the home of the Bloodsail Pirates, sworn enemies of the Steamwheedle goblin cartel in Stranglethorn Vale and is constantly skirmishing with them.
Pandaria is home to the Dread Wastes, the homeland of the Mantid. The mantid were once servants of Y'shaarj but upon it's death they worshiped whoever their empress was. Certain mantid were put in amber by the Klaxxi to preserve them for a time when the empire would need correcting. The list is: Skeer the Bloodseeker, Xaril the Poisoned Mind, Rik'kal the Dissector, Hisek the Swarmkeeper, Ka'roz the Locust, Korven the Prime, Iyyokuk the Lucid, Kaz'tik the Manipulator, and Kil'ruk the Wind-Reaver. Adventurers would eventually aid the paragons in defeating the empress, corrupted by the Sha of Fear, making her paranoid. The Sha were the remains of Y'shaarj after the titans ripped it out of Azeroth. Nonetheless, when Garrosh Hellscream uncovered the Heart of Y'shaarj, the paragons flocked to it and protected Garrosh to their last breath, attempting to kill the adventurers that helped them. They were eventually defeated but their is speculation that they may return since they said that we have not seen the last of them.
The Ebon Blade is faction of Death Knights that broke free of the will of the Lich King with the help of Tirion Fordring during their assault on Light's Hope Chapel in the Eastern Plaguelands. The most powerful of them are known as the Four Horsemen: Deathlord Nazgrim (an ex powerful memeber of the Horde and a Garrosh Hellscream sympathizer), Darion Mograine (leader of the Ebon Blade), Thoras Trollbane [/card](once the ruler of the ruined kingdom of Stromgarde), and [card]Inquisitor Whitemane (once ruled over the Scarlet Monastery). These four replaced the old four during the most recent (and final) assault of the Legion on Azeroth. The Deathlord (the player) was sent by the new Lich King (Bolvar, Fireblood) to raise the Four Horsemen once more to bring apocalypse and ruin on the Legion.
With the new speculation that the first expansion of the Year of the Raven could be centered around Duskwood, I thought it high time to share it's lore.
Duskwood was once a beautiful part of Elwynn Forest in the Eastern Kingdoms. That was, until the Scythe of Elune, an ancient and powerful druidic artifact, found it's way into the forest. It released the worgens from their prison in the Emerald Dream and tainted the land with it's unstable power. Now, the forest is full of undead and horrific creatures. Also, ogres have moved in from nearby Deadwind Pass (home of Karazhan) making matters even worse. The land is technically owned by the Alliance but Stormwind does not do much to help the pleading citizens. The Night Watch was formed, a militia dedicated to defending one of the few settlements still remaining, Darkshire (Steward of Darkshire is part of it).
Dar'khan Drathir was a magister of the grand high elven land of Quel'thalas prior to the invasion of the Lich King and the scourge. He desperately desired the power of the magical Sunwell and began to become addicted to it. When Prince Arthas, the Lich King, approached him, promising him limitless power in exchange for entry into Quel'thalas, he readily agreed. He let the Lich King through who would kill 90% of the high elven population. Dar'khan then attempted to betray the Lich King but was killed and resurrected as "more lich than mortal". He would later attempt to kidnap the physical manifestation of the Sunwell but was ultimately destroyed. Heroes defeated him once for all in the Ghostlands, in the scourge fortress of Deatholme.
I'm currently working on some new cards for a custom expansion and am really short on time. Sorry! I welcome anyone who wishes to share some lore in my place.
Thas'dorah, Legacy of the Windrunners is the artifact that markmanship hunters get in Legion. As can be inferred from the title, this legacy is gained from the Windrunner sisters (Alleria Windrunner, Sylvannas Windrunner, and Veresa Windrunner). It was carved form the mothertree of Eversong Woods, home of the high elven kingdom of Quel'thalas. It was passed down from eldest generation to eldest generation until Alleria Windrunner (the hunter alternate hero and member of the Army of the Light) received it, With the disappearance of Alleria Windrunner, no one knows where Thas'dorah is. Until now that is...
Lady Lala is an elite enemy naga located in the underwater zone of Vash'jir and is obviously a nod to Lady Gaga (a.k.a. Mother Monster). She is wearing something...familiar.
During Illidan's time in Outland, he recruited a faction of Blood Elves led by Kael'thas Sunstrider and a faction of Naga (formerly) led by Lady Vashj. Kael'thas ruled over the Netherstorm and Lady Vashj ruled over Zangamarsh. Lady Vashj would be killed in the Serpentshrine Caverns, a part of a giant pipe sucking all the water out of Zangamarsh. Kael'thas was thought to have been killed in Tempest Keep, but he survived. He launched an offensive on Silvermoon and took over the city. Using the power of the Sunwell, he almost summoned his true master, Kil'jaeden. Fortunately, heroes of both the Alliance and the Horde worked together to stop Kael'thas and drove the Demon Lord back to the Twisting Nether.
The current leader of Illidan's Naga is Lady S'theno who leads the Bloodscale tribe, the Darkcrest tribe, the Wrathfin tribe, the Coilfang tride, and the Coilskar. She assists the player (if they are a Demon Hunter) in the campaign against the Legion by allowing them to send naga recruits on missions to aid the player's champions.
Hello can you tell me lore about necromancers in world of warcraft everything about them please, thanks in advance.
The closest things Azeroth has to necromancers are the Cult of the Damend, a cult of living people devoted to the Lich King, and Unholy Death Knights, being able to raise abominations and ghouls from the earth, transforming them into gargantuan monstrocities.
So sorry that I haven't posted anything on this thread in such a long time! I've been incredibly busy.
Anyways, onto the lore! Void Elves are a group of Blood Elves that were exiled from the Blood Elven capital of Sunwell, located in northern Eastern Kingdoms, near the island of Quel'thalas and the Sunwell. They were banished for practicing void magic, attempting to use its powers for good. They found their way to the Ghostlands, a land once part of the beautiful forest of Eversong Woods, forever changed by the Lich King and the Scourge. They found the notes of Drakhan Drathir, an ex servant of the Lich King who had dabbled in shadow magic. In his notes he had written about a land called Telogorus Rift, an area caught between the Void and reality, rumored to be a planet that was destroyed by the Dark Titan Sargeras. Drakhan was never able to reach the Rift, but the Void Elves were. Alleria Windrunner had heard of this and decided to travel there herself, being a user of Void magic. She warned them of the Void's corruptive powers but they didn't listen. They let free an ancient slave of the Void, Nether-Prince Durzaan. He tried his hardest to corrupt the Void Elves but with Alleria and the mysterious Locus Walkers help they were able to resist and defeat the Nether Prince. Since then, the Void Elves have been building a tiny settlement for themselves in the Rift.

I thought i knew quitte a lot about WoW lore but i'd say i didn't know at least one third of this stuff. Cool thread!

There's something I just noticed. Chillwind Yeti is being attacked by some warlocks. I never saw it. It's kind of sad actually. :(
