This thread is meant to inspire people to make cards that are flavorful and make sense with the art. The thread will just be a bunch of random information about World of Warcraft to inspire people to make some cool cards. Without further ado, the first bit of information:
The Emerald Nightmare is a raid introduced in the beginning of the Legion expansion. It puts players up against foes old and new and turns ally against ally, The Nightmare is ruled by Malfurion's old nemesis Xavius. Although, Xavius is merely a puppet of the old god N'zoth. The Nightmare has caused many horrendous atrocities to occur such as:
The corruption of the Druids of the Fang, a group of druids who could transform into snakes and resided in the Wailing Caverns.
The Nightmare Scar in the Barrens caused by Naralex, leader of the Druids of the Fang.
The corruption of Shaladrassil, the World Tree.
The corruption of Ysera, the leader of the green dragonflight and the queen of the Emerald Dream.
And much more.
Any and all information and lore that you would like to share would be much appreciated. :)
Thanks for all the feedback! Now, onto the next piece of lore:
There are four portals that connect directly into the Emerald Dream on Azeroth. These were located in Duskwood, Feralas, the Hintherlands, and Ashenvale. Now, due to the Emerald Nightmare (mentioned above) four of the greatest in the Emerald Dragonflight have become corrupt and guard these portals. The first of them is Lethon. He is considered by many to be the most fearsome of the four. He has the ability to extract dark shades from his opponents to fight against their true selves. The second is Emeriss. The Nightmare has turned Emeriss into a gruesome and appalling foe. She uses the corpses of the fallen to aid them, spurting putrid mushrooms that feed upon the body. Ysondre is the third of the rogue lieutenants. She originally had great healing powers but she now uses dark, perverted powers to sow chaos all across Azeroth. She has the power to summon trapped, crazed druids from the Nightmare to fight by her side. Taerar is perhaps the most affected and maddened of the four. The Nightmare has shattered both his mind and his body, transforming him into a most powerful pawn for the Old Gods. He now has the power to split himself into multiple beings each with their own unique way of killing foes.
The Emerald Dragonflight is one of the five dragonflights blessed by the Titans. The list is as follows: the blue dragonflight, once ruled by Malygos and now ruled by Kalecgos, the red dragonflight, ruled by Alexstrasa, the green dragonflight, formerly ruled by Ysera and now ruled by ???, the black dragonflight, formerly ruled by Deathwing now ruled by ???, and the Bronze dragonflight, ruled by Nozdormu. The green dragonflight was charged with maintaining the Emerald Dream and protecting it from those who would wish to corrupt it. Ysera, their former leader, was corrupted by Xavius and then killed by adventurers. The blue dragonflight were ruled to control all magic on Azeroth. Their former leader, Malygos, became deranged and hoped to kill all the mortal magic wielders on Azeroth. This event was known as the Nexus Wars and it was primarily fought by the Blue Dragonflight and the Kirin Tor in Northrend. The Red Dragonflight are the protectors of all life on Azeroth. Alextrasa, their leader "brings life and hope" to her allies. The black dragonflight was charged with guarding the deep places of Azeroth. Deathwing, their former leader, was corrupted during the War of the Ancients by the Old God N'zoth and he would eventually cause the Cataclysm, a catastrophic event that rocked the very foundations of the world, breaking the barrier between the physical and elemental planes. The bronze dragonflight are the keepers of time. Some notable dragons from this flight are Nozdormu, the Bronze aspect, Chromie, a dragon who had an entire scenario based on her multiple deaths, and Kairozdormu, the dragon who released Garrosh from his prison in Pandaria and caused the Warlords of Draenor expansion.
The Titans are a race of godlike beings that inhabit the far reaches of the cosmos. Azerothians only knew of a small group of Titans known as the Pantheon. They, and the world soul of Azeroth, are thought to be the last remaining Titans with Azeroth being the most powerful. The Pantheon is made up of 5 Titans. They are as follows: Aman'thul, the leader of the Pantheon, Eonar, the Lifebinder, Norgannon, the master of all magic, Golganneth, father of the Sea Giants, and Khaz'goroth, the ultimate craftsman. Originally, there were two more Titans that were part of the Pantheon. These were Sargeras, the ex leader of the Burning Legion up until his defeat on the Burning Throne, and Aggramar, the one time Champion of the Pantheon until Sargeras cut him down and forced his soul to serve him. The Pantheon were betrayed by Sargeras after his corruption at the hands of the Void. He killed them all and almost succeed in bending them to his will. Luckily, adventurers traveled to Argus, ex home world of the Draenei and now the heart of the Legion, and stopped him and the world soul of Argus known as the Unmaker.
Argus was once the exquisite homeworld of the Draenei (examples of Draenei can be seen in Selfless Hero, Prophet Velen) until the demon lord and traitorous titan Sargeras offered them a deal. He offered the Draenei power and wisdom in exchange for their loyalty. At the time, there were three leaders in the Draenei society: Archimonde, Kil'jaeden, and Velen. Archimonde and Kil'jaeden hastily accepted while Velen declined the offer. Kil'jaeden especially was infuriated by this and, with the powers granted by Sargeras, attempted to capture Velen. He was too late. Velen and his followers were teleported by the Naaru, the very manifestation of the Light, onto a ship and would be running away from the Burning Legion for thousands of years. Sargeras' deal had corrupted the Draenei, transforming them into the Eredar. Over time, the power of the Fel seeped into the very land and corrupted it, transforming it into the Argus we know today.
Amazing thread! This history is actually quite intriguing, I didn't expect it to be fascinating to read. Good way of writing your short story infos, it's very engaging. :)
Today in my free brawl pack I got Barongeddon, then I had a cup of fresh green tea. As a result of that, I think Priest is OP because my keyboard is not a mechanical one. I hope Blizzard will address this issue.

The Naaru are the very embodiment of the Light in the physical plane. We know not of where they come from but we know a few things. We know that they are the eternal nemesis the Shadow and wage a never ending war against it and it's minions. We also know that the Light allows a few people to use it's power to empower themselves (priests and paladins are among these). The Naaru saved a few of the Draenei from becoming Demons known as the Eredar. Some people speculate that the Naaru are related in some way to the Night Elven Moon Goddess Elune, mother of Cenarius and "wife" of Malorne.
The Naaru:
Archimonde and Kil'jaeden, once leaders of the Draenei, now servants of the demon lord Sargeras:
Elune is considered by the Night Elves to be the Goddess of the greater of the two moons in Azeroth's sky, the White Lady. The Tauren believe that Elune is the sister of the Sun. They believe that when the Tauren heard whispers from the Earth teaching them about war and deceit that the Earthmother, the deity that the Tauren believe in, tore out her two eyes and, thus, created the Sun and the moon. The second moon in Azeroth's sky is called the Blue Child and the Earthmother sent it away to learn about the Burning Legion. Anyways, back to Elune. We have never seen Elune in any way shape or form but we have seen her do some pretty major stuff. For example, when Tyrande killed the corrupted Ysera in Val'sharah, Elune took Ysera's spirit from her body and made it into a constellation into the sky. There is many speculation on what Elune is. Some think that she is a Titan. This is because of the four Pillars of Creation. ancient artifacts used to shape the very fabric of the world. They are all named after Titans except for one. The Tears of Elune. This leads people to believe that she is a Titan or that she has some sort of relation with them. Others think that she is a Naaru. This is because of a remark Velen makes while he is visiting Darnassus, the capital of the Night Elves. He compares the powers of the Naaru and the powers of Elune and said that it is possible that they are one in the same or are related to one another. Who knows? It's up to you to decide.
There are five Pillars of Creation: The Tears of Elune, The Hammer of Khaz'goroth, the Eye of Aman'thul, the Tidestone of Golganneth, and the Aegis of Aggramar. Each of them can be found in a zone on the Broken Isles with the Tidestone coming from Azuna, an ancient land cursed and plagued by Queen Azshara and her minions, the Naga, The Tears come from Val'sharah, the closest our world will ever come to the Emerald Dream, the Hammer comes from Highmountain, a zone filled with Highmountain Tauren, relatives of the Tauren we know, the Eye is found in Suramar in the possession of the traitor queen Grand Magistrix Elisande, used to create the Nightwell, an incredible font of power, and the Aegis is found in the Halls of Valor, located within the western part of the Broken Isles, Stormheim. All of them (except for the Tears) are named after a Titan and are often associated with them. To get each of the Pillars, brave adventurers have had to defeat the corrupted Ysera for the Tears, Grand Magistrix Elisande for the Eye, the Hammer is taken back from Dargrul the Underking, ruler of the Drogbar and squatter in the old lair of Neltharion (Deathwing), the Tidestone is found on the Wrath of Azshara, an aberration summoned by a favored subject of Azshara, Tidemistress Athisa, and the Aegis is looted from the corpse of the self proclaimed God-King Skovald, a vrykul who was promised limitless power in exchange for the Aegis.

Thanks for this, a lack of knowledge of WoW lore has kept me from making flavorful cards, so this seems awesome
