I agree. A mod told me that there's some sort of code corruption that's preventing it from updating properly, and they haven't got around to fixing it yet.

 To expand upon this, we had a system in place that would have automatically updated the gallery every week with the winner, and it worked for a few weeks. It broke, however, and we didn't notice for some time.

It's also just very low priority, compared to keeping the competitions running (on the part of the FC mods) and the rest of the site running (on the part of anyone else who might know what to do). I'm not even sure I know how I'd add Season 8 (or 9) at all, never mind getting the rest of Season 7 up.

It's something that needs to be sat down and looked at for a good few hours at least, and we're really just too busy (mostly IRL) to devote time to it right now. Right now the majority of the time FC mods have to spend on the site is spent maintaining the WCDC and CCC.

I won't promise anything - because lord knows I've done that before and never been able to follow through - but I don't think an official update will come before the end of Season 9. When that break comes, maybe.

 yes it's true I think there are a lot of ideas and a lot of things we can do to improve the WCDC

 Looks like the original user who posted the old Winner's Gallery was deleted in the Great Purge of EU Regulations. I've restored the original post, so you should hopefully be able to see it now.

If you can give me a list of anything you need to know that you can't find in either Gallery in a PM, I'll grab any threads/dates you're looking for. It'll be nice to have a record of as much as possible from our time here on Hearthpwn over on OOC.

While I'm here, in the interest of full disclosure, the last post I made here - February 12th - was made with the knowledge that something was going on behind-the-scenes in regards to Hearthpwn's future (though I didn't know what yet), and the idea of creating an entirely new site had already been floated around among the more senior mods. That's the main reason that no work was being done to fix the mess we'd made of the Winner's Gallery - there might not have been any point to it by the time it got done, and assigning someone to it would've been taking them away from trying to prevent more water from flooding the sinking ship, or from preparing the lifeboats (as it were, metaphors, y'know?).

I am very grateful to you for doing this work when we let it fall by the wayside. I plan to try and get the Winner's Gallery to be an actual part of the site on OOC, so that it will literally automatically update once a poll ends with the new information. We sort of had that started here, but we had to hack around Hearthpwn's weird and old code and use Flux's own external site for most of it; then it broke anyway after like four weeks.

Maybe it would be a good idea to make an article/guide thing out of it on OOC. I know regular users cant do that just yet, but it is our goal for anyone to be basically able to create content on the site and have proper tools for it.

Transferring this in form of a thread, especially with the limited forum tools right now might be a bit of a waste of the work actually. I mean by all means, if you are willing to do it Demon, go ahead, just know it wont be easy.

Maybe it would be worth to wait a bit before proper tools are implemented? I mean hpwn is being archived after all (=read only), so you should have no problem goin back for the content, in theory.

Well, at least I got one win lel.

Also, if you haven't figured it out by now, HearthPwn shutting down is the main reason the Gallery was never going to be updated. "Why bother fixing the error?", and all that. I didn't know it originally, but after I knew the truth I couldn't share it either.

I personally wouldn't have the Season Finale winner so high, if we went with such a system. Winning a Season Finale poll would mean your one card was worth 25 points, more than a Big Comp finalist and half of what the Big Comp winner received. They only made the one card, and already scored 5 points on it; being a Big Comp finalist requires far more effort to achieve.

Demon's numbers are even more bloated in favor of the Season Finale: second place gets the same as a Big Comp winner, with first receiving even more? That's crazy to me. Big Comp should be the highest by a large percentage.
