Maybe it's a stupid question, but do we have a strikt definition of "token"?
Does that only count for minions that are directly summoned to the board? Or does it also mean that nothing is allowed to be generated at all? (I'm thinking about certain cards being added to your hand...)
EDIT: AAAH! SAME QUESTION ASKED SIMULTANEOUSLY! SORRY! (haven't updated the page...)
Can I submit an original card I've already posted for an existing class?
I'm not sure exactly what you're talking about, but if you're talking about adapting... say, a Hunter card into a [insert your new class here] card, then that's totally fine. I've done it several times before, and there's never been a problem.

Basically I have made a Paladin card and posted it on Reddit. Can I change it from a Paladin card to the new custom class and still be able to submit it as one of my example cards?

Hi ! I see that many people are posting ideas, so I want too !
My class relies on my favourite game "Ori and the Blind Forest". I won't explain it, because everyone can read about it in internet. Class is called : Spirit, and its representant is Ori - main character in game.
This class has many healing effects, but it deals damage too (maybe not too much) and destroys minions instantly. As my favourite challenges are 2 and 3, I made some cards that suit there perfectly. I wasn't makinkg a new Keyword, but I have some ideas, so I am prepared for making it.
I post here my example cards from all rarities, hero and hero power
NOTE: Hero power works even if you don't have any minions on the battlefield. It heals only your hero then.
Secret works when minion survives damage (it must have at least 1 hp)
And cards :
PS: So now we are only voting for challenges, right ?
Wow, we're sharing ideas already? All right, lemme throw mine out there as well (I'll try get feedback ready some time later today).
My Class: The Destroyer / End Bringer (haven't decided yet). Some combination of Destroy, End, Prophet, Apocalypse, Cultist, whatever.
I'm not entirely sold on the hero arts (first one doesn't look crazy enough, I don't like the second one's hat) but it'll do for now . The class has two main themes: Destroying everything slowly, but inevitably - and destroying everything NOW, with FIRE. The class's main themes are:
- Giving the Hero +Attack (for trading, and for massive burst combos) and Hero self-damage (this bit is kinda like warlock, I know). - AOE damage. Lots of it. Good against swarms, less good against single, big dudes. - Permanent effects. - 1/1 'Orb' weapons.
Couple of example cards (not the best ones, but I happened to have them available):
I'm not sure I like this keyword. I might be exaggerating, but the whole "for each minion that dies, X happens" is a bit crowded already. Crimson Fury really needs some cheap yet substantial Attack buff to be worth printing. Rain of Fire, however (despite being a warlock spell in WoW) is a card I really like, as it opens ways to tinker combos (like throwing in a poor Thalnos/Zealot to make it bigger), will your class have some sort of enrage/damage synergy?
By the way, I think you could try calling the class Harbinger.
I couldn't sleep last night so I just had to try and make a new class
Thoughts?
Name:Tactician
Hero:
Cards:
Keyword:
Okay, so the first few things that pops into mind:
- That keyword is really nasty for new/F2P players. Imagine opening a pack with all these cool cards and realising you need to make a legendary (most likely several, if you want any consistency at all) before you can make use of their cool effects. My suggestion? Do something like Shadowverse Swordcraft, where certain minions have, say, a 'Commander' tribe that can be used instead. It preserves the flavour and makes the mechanic much more accessible.
- I'm generally OK with hero powers that buff minions, but a lot of people like Hero Powers to be useable regardless of board state. I've seen many people say that your HP should never be unuseable in any situation, beyond fringe ones like being at full health/under 2 health, for example.
- King's Bodyguard seems a little bit too understatted when Zeal is inactive. - Ballista makes me uncomfortable. While it may not be totally OP, it feels a little... overtuned? Just my gut instinct, though. - You forgot to give Forest Ambush the class border.
That's all I got!
Also, Tactician/Strategist/something similar classes are usually quite popular, so do think of ways yours can stand out.
@Broek and MvonTzeskagrad (that took me way too long to spell XD): Thanks for the feedback! I'll take it into consideration :)
Just to be sure, in challenge 3, tokens are only minions (like totems and silver hand recruits) or it's any noncollectable card generated by the hero power (like rogue's dagger, spare parts, minions that goes directly to your hand)?
It's anything, even another hero power or portrait.
Could any of you take a look at my Runemasters Hero Power (on page 5), because I am now in doubt whether these would be considered tokens. I made them thinking they would work like a Choose One effect. You choose a Rune, than use it on a minion (much like Keeper of the Grove. I don't think Keeper of the Grove's options are considered tokens right?
Based on what Asylum said during the last class competition, I'm pretty sure the runes would count as tokens. It's a bit different than a Choose One, because you haven't listed the options for the choice. While Choose One cards don't need a spoiler with images to show each option, your hero power requires a spoiler with three images to show what the runes are.
I think this will all be a moot point, though, because option #3 seems pretty unpopular.
So since people are posting their first ideas, I will too. So far I've only got the idea for two classes, their hero art and their Hero Powers. Both Hero Powers are the same thing.
As the old saying goes: "What is better? An undead alchemist or a purple lady that can use space?"

I'd say the 'Purple Lady that can use SPACEEEE', since: - I LOVE SPACE - I like purple ladies (ok that was weird). - Alchemist has kinda been done to death.

It depends on what you have planned for each. I'd personally go with Cosmomancer, since it's more unique. Alchemist's been done before a million times. But that is on flavour alone; I don't know what you want to do with it.

Neither do I, really. Just that I want to use Algalon the Observer as a Legendary.
Well, way to go to Cogito for accidentally predicting that I had a Time Traveler class idea. Originally, it was a Chronomancer class, but I saw thepowrofcheese already made one. I figured this was pretty close so I would make this instead and I kinda kept the sand theme a bit.
A bump because I got some new ideas. 2 different designs for Black Hole as well.
Flavor and Design:
As a time traveler (and part of the Time Traveler class), your powers focus on... time. Kinda like a Chronomancer, but a bit different. Many effects here are based on harnessing the power of your past and future to help you in the present. It can also make time a bit difficult for your opponent too. Look at Timewalker for instance. For every 10 seconds your opponent took on their last turn, he grows stronger and gains more Attack. Planning ahead is often a good strategy both as, and also against, a Time Traveler.
The keyword for the class is Quick-Time, which is a pseudo-Battlecry effect (like Combo or Overload) that activates if you played the card on the same time you received it. This of course includes drawing it, but just generating it also counts. While in most other cases, this would be very inconsistent and relies on topdecks in other classes, Time Traveler has ways to manipulate this. Their Hero Power, Glimpse, for instance allows them to swap the top 2 cards of your deck, allowing you to plan ahead for multiple turns knowing what you'll draw and you get to choose the next card you draw making it very strategy oriented. You can make sure you draw your Quick-Time card when you need it. Future Sight is the same exact idea, only it lets you look at more cards for less mana, granted as a collectable card. Parallel Dimensions helps you get rid of a useless hand when it's full of situational/expensive cards and get a better hand when you need it. It also allows you to shuffle Quick-Time cards into your deck and draw multiple Quick-Time cards at once to use their effects better.
The class does have quite a few visual gimmicks up its sleeve too. Rift Elemental and Black Hole signify the side of Time Traveler about space and matter manipulation, whilst Sandstorm and Parallel Dimensions showcases the sandy aesthetic of Time Traveler. Sand is the element of time after all.
Flavor texts coming soon!
In all honesty, I feel this lacks some originality. Off course, there's thepowrofcheese's Chronomancer class, but during the previous class design competition there were some other's that had some time-related classes. Quick-Time is also a keyword that has been seen before, though I do think it's a cool keyword because it opens up a lot of design space. I think sandstorm is perfectly balanced and a good way to use Quick-Time. Rearranging is a cool feature, it's seen a lot in MtG. Question tho, how would this be implemented in the game? How would the order be chosen?
So yeah, the class identity isn't exactly the most original. I know thepowrofcheese made a Chronomancer class (I found out after I already started my idea), but trying to come up with an idea for a class you can build upon enough and make work is extremely difficult and I feel like no matter what, someone is going to have some sort of unoriginality in their class. I feel like a completely original class that works at this point is just about impossible to build. While the general class idea may not be the most original, I feel like I'll still be able to hold my ground with this class, especially later.
Rearranging cards for the effects of Glimpse and Future Sight is pretty easy. We could copy the Choose One interface (or the Totemic Call interface in the case of the latter card) and just add arrows to it to move cards around. Then click "Done" when you're done and that's the new order of the top cards of your deck. The order in which you draw the cards you rearrange them is left to right of what you saw.

God. I believe I am going to have some problems making a not-broken and interesting Hero Power, I don't have many ideas of what Power could be:
But here it is my hero idea! The Bounty Hunter!
The Bounty Hunter will focus on controling the board from minions, and gaining benefits from them. He can mark minions for gaining some bonus effects, as he dominates the board with minions, you are going to be in a very bad situation. But his minions aren't naturally powerfull by themselves, so board cleans and flooding are his weaknesses, since his minions aren't very resilent and his board cleans are: Or very expensive, or very conditional, since he just normally focuses on a single minion with ease.
Examples of how Mark synergy can work:
I don't have too much cards right now, but I believe at least these examples could work.
But I am neither too sure about my class.
I like the general idea of the Bounty Hunter. To make the name of the class more Warcraft-y you could also call it Ranger or Scout. Mark is an interesting keyword but might be relatively hard to implement because you need both cards that mark minions as well as cards that affect marked minions. Also, marking a minion in itself doesn't really do much right? Therefor if you have a card that marks, it doesnt affect the board in any way. Also if you topdeck your example card (deal 4 damage to a marked minion), its useless without any card that actually mark minions. It might be a really hard keyword to implement correctly. If you are going to go for it, think about changing your example card to 'Deal 2 damage to a minion. If it's marked, deal 4 damage instead'. Final note: DO NOT use that card back, during the last class creation comp, it received a lot of negative comments. People didn't even look at the cards themselves but were only talking about the card back.
Yeap. I still remember the heavy criticize with the card back, honestly I don't care that much, but I neither have a problem to change it, probably to Demon Hunter or Blood Mage. I'm still fond with the idea.
And the thing with Mark, yes, I have planned to make Mark and affective-Mark cards, I know that it doesn't do much by itself, but then you add more effects and cards to it, and its completely done of how Mark can be applied. Yes now that I realize I need to change the example card :P
But remember, I can't add the new keyword onto the basic set, I'm still working with it (6 or 7 cards now) but don't expect too much :P, I still plan to do most spells, but Marking cards and synergy are going to be VERY around out there.
And therefore, I'll probably be out when I do them, I don't have wi-fi connection there, and probably gonna use my phone connection sometimes.
EDIT: Going to do the Sword thingie card-back. That one looks quite better.

Why Rogue is my favourite class:
My submission for this week's card design competition.
I hope the rules don't get too restrictive...
This is my first time when i take a part in competition like that but I wanna do my best
Soooo here it is my Demon Champion!!!!! (I will probably change the portrait but this is the best I still found)
I didn't made Hero Power yet because I have another idea if I will can use Tokens and another idea if I won't.
One of the main ways my class can go is to defeat us much minions as you can to make your board stronger.
And i made a new keyword that my class can rush:
It's all for this time, I will update this later. For now please for opinion for this class. Thanks!
