Hey. Paladin is a class that relies heavily on weapons, but often we find ourselves overwhelmed with weapons in our hand, do you think this card is good to fix this issue?

"Battlecry: Destroy your weapon and receive taunt, divine shield, lifesteal, or windfury at random for each durability destroyed."
I think it's easier to understand this way, and I believe it's less text.
This is a really awesome idea, and just the annoying 5 drop Paladin could use in Standard atm. Perfect follow-up to Truesilver if you land Windfury and Lifesteal. Could even tech in Light's Justice for the WOWZORZ.

Well, just for starters, if you're Overwhelmed with weapons, then just swing face and play the new one. It's fine to miss a durability here or there. And if you keep getting too many weapons in your hand after that, remove them from minions or spells. I think it's a deck-building issue rather than a card-design issue.
As for the card: It's a bit too strong in the right deck, in my opinion, and unplayable otherwise. 5 mana 5/5 is sweet. Sure it's off 1 toughness, but it still trades pretty well. But some nice stats shouldn't pair better than an 8 costed Shaman Legendary... Al'Akir the Windlord. Do note that Al'Akir has Charge instead of Lifesteal (like yours) so that is definitely where some of the lower stats is, but other than that, Al'Akir is not good on stats. 3/5 for 8 mana hurts. A lot. It's not playable because of it.
Sure your minion is a playable Paladin Al'Akir, but not in current decks. And what I mean by that is how easy it is to run high durability weapons for cheap cost or tempo and then curve beautifully into a 5/5 with four keywords. Light's Justice, Muster for Battle and Sword of Justice could be played simply for this to be an aggro deck finisher.
It hurts more to lose the 4/1 Truesilver Champion. Played on T4, Attack. I'd rather have a different card at cost 5 so I can use the weapon's 4 damage again -- I actually would rather not play this card.
Don't get me wrong, the idea is going in a great direction, I don't think it's the direction you intended. I like sacrificing your weapon as a concept, but Weapons are a value tier on their own. This card will only be used with a tempo 3 cost + Light's Justice and T5 5/5 Al'Akir.

Do you guys really think this is overpowered? I think this card is good, but not close to being overpowered. In the case that you're running only tempo oriented weapons, this card destroys a weapon you'r currently holding, it's a huge tempo loss. Destroying a 4/1 truesilver for a 5 mana 5/5 lifesteal or taunt or either of the effects is tempo suicide. That's why this is a tech card. I think it's perfectly balanced, in my own humble opinion. And if you're choosing to play a light's justice with this card, then you're essentially running a dead card in your deck, that you hope to draw AND play while you have this card already in hand, AND it's turn 5 at least - that's also not a strong strategy at all. Don't you agree?

thank you!! The idea behind this was to be able to play something strong while you have mostly weapons in hand, instead of attacking face with weapon and play another weapon, which is something that really bothered me with paladin. It's a great risk - great reward card, that allows you to play more weapons than usual. We have Tirion and the new deathknight, there'r just too many weapons, so such a card is essential in my opinion. I won't bother changing the card text, although yours' is definitely better, because it's simply for show, as long as people understand what the card's about, that's all that matters to me. And again, thank you! :))

Destroying a Truesilver Champion with this is just bad, and I'm pretty sure running Light's Justice or Sword of Justice isn't worth it either, but those are more likely to be good. I fully approve of this card in Standard.
In wild, however, I think with Muster for Battle this card is overpowered. Often you end up swinging a few times into face with that weapon just to burn charges anyway, and this card solves that problem as well as giving you an insane 5-drop.

I was just going to reiterate that. It's not really LJ that's the problem, but Muster.
And this card would limit design space for future Paladin weapons. It would prevent any decent weapon with 4+ durability for Paladin simply because the weapon could be useful on its own and useful as food to this guy.

I don't think the card is overpowered with the current weapons paladin has. Outside of light's justice or sword of justice I don't see any way to really abuse this card, and running this card would not make those two cards good enough to run in my opinion. If you're not eating one of those two then you are not getting anywhere near the value from this effect compared to the value you would get from your weapon. That means if you are not swamped with weapons this card would be a bad card, and if you are swamped with weapons you are giving up a whole lot of tempo for a random effect or possibly two that are not OP for the cost of this card.

Of course, in the future that could all change.
How do you feel if this card was a 5/6? E.G it's either a Pit Fighter or a 5/6 that destroys your own weapon with the effect, I still think it's balanced that way, tbh, for standard

This is an interesting idea. Of course, if they're random, you could get the same "buff" twice?
It's an interesting idea. I don't think it's a balanced card as is and it would need to cost more or have lower stats, but it's an interesting idea.
Maybe it could be like Furnacefire Colossus and it's "discard a weapon, get a buff". Maybe that's not good enough..
