This is a keyword that I came up with when brainstorming ideas for a custom expansion. Similar to Tracking, except the cards you don't choose are not discarded. It's basically a draw that you have a little more control of. Here's a quick example:
My few questions are:
1) How much more powerful is this than simply drawing a card?
2) How powerful is this compared to Discover?
3) Is this different enough from those things to be interesting as a keyword?
2. Compare to discover a copy of a card from your deck, it kinda depend on if you want more copy of a certain card or if you want to shorten your deck. Probably 10-15% more powerful though
This is basically a "Discover a card from your own deck", so personally I think it's a bit boring and doesn't merit it's own keyword. [also the wording on your card should be "... that costs (3) or less." in order for it to be consistent with Hearthstone wordings.]
To answer your questions however:
1.If we consider drawing a card worth 1.5 mana, this surely borders on 2 ~ 2.5 in my opinion, since you're basically "selecting" your topdeck.
2.Discover is kind of a tricky keyword to put a value on since for one there's Raven Idol which is basically a 1:1 ratio, while there's the Jeweled Scarab that discovers strictly a 3 cost card but puts a value of almost 1.5 on it. I think it's fair to say discover is somewhere between 1.5 and 2 mana worth of value, but then there's discovering a most likely "relevant" card from your "own" deck, which is definitely quite more powerful.
3.I don't want to dissuade you, but in my honest opinion, this doesn't cut it for me as interesting new mechanic. Like, your card can be worded "Battlecry: Discover a minion from your deck that costs (3) or less." and it's no where near the 4 line limit. That is, unless I'm not missing something here of course.
P.S: I think your card is a bit OP. 3/3 is more like it.
Thanks for the reply. Those were my thoughts as well.
Something like "Discover a Spell," is definitely for control matches and makes it difficult for your opponent to play around, but "Fetch a Spell," allows you to have a better Idea of what you are going to get.
Exactly! And I don't even want to consider how OP it's going to get when played in a combo-oriented deck. Imagine getting a combo piece AND thinning your deck by 1 card at the same time, while throwing the garbage back into the deck. It's definitely going to be fun for me as a combo fan, but I don't think the community likes the idea as much.

For some reason, I thought that "Discover a card from your deck" would be the same as "Discover a copy of a card from your deck. As in, that it would leave the card in your deck and not draw it. This is not necessarily the case.
Although the Fetch keyword would make it more clear that the card is no longer in your deck, I think you're right about it not being different enough to warrant a keyword. (the only way it would need a keyword is if it revealed 5 cards or something like that, which is even more like tutor effect and probably too powerful.) I'll probably still make cards like this, but have the effect written out. Thank you for the feedback.

1. 40% more powerful

3.IDK
Vote for my Card Design Submission! I love this one!
