I've got a couple of ideas for this in the bank, and in fact, I had a couple of cards for this in the bank too, from my latest Rogue expansion. Here are those cards, in case you want to see them:
Dirty Trick and Shadow Focus are basically inversions of Shadowstep and Preparation. So there's six of those cards, and then there are the cards I just came up with...
Ivar Axetogrinde is a reference to the summoning quote of Bloodhoof Brave, as it is in that style. Shadespawn is meant to be an inversion of Lightspawn. If summoned without the Battlecry it dies immediately. And Prince Valanar is with the other princes! But he's a Rogue minion because they're the only class with a prevalence of 0-cost cards light Backstab and Counterfeit Coin.
I don't know what to do!! I have so many ideas but... there are too many of them! Help me whittle them down please!! :)
@ Sinti: The Maddest Bomber is fine, but it doesn't really excite the theme of '0' in my head... The Dynamites shouldn't be 0 Attack as it makes it incredibly hard to activate them even when you don't know if they'll hit you or the opponent, but it is actually good when you look at the main cards stats and text. Change the main card to say "Battlecry: Summon three 1/1 Dynamites for each player. WARNING: Dynamite may blow up." Then it could work. With changed card art and the GvG emblem. Edit: I like Mana Hungry Elemental. Change the name to "Mana-Hungry Elemental" because its a hyphenated adjective (or it should be). I would tone its attack down to 2, as you get priority when you draw on your turn, especially compare with Coldlight Oracle.
Dagger of Venom is very good, and I think it works out considering Rogue should get combo activators like this and should have more weapon versatility. Maybe it could read "Add a 'Deadly Poison' spell to your hand. It costs (0)." - consistent with Archmage Antonidas or, more consistent with Rhonin would be your wording, but with a full stop instead of a comma between the spell add and the cost modifier.
@ Lathy: Damn, Blink just isn't good, in any of its forms. You're giving your opponent resources, and there are only a very few bad resources you could give them... like Ticking Abomination, I guess... But you're also taking something out of your deck and giving it to them, not giving them a copy. It should at least be "Give them a copy of it" or, after the rest of the text "Draw a card"— but then it wouldn't cost 0 and wouldn't qualify. There has to be some upside for you to even run this card! Drain Mana, on the other hand, might be very niche and not worth running on its own necessarily, but does provide a great upside in the late game, with great contrast between Druid and Warlock as classes. Could be very good in the early game if your opponent doesn't have anything to do on turn 1.
@ Hoax91: This would just get added to your starting hand after you mulligan, right? So in effect you draw a Wisp along with your first draw? This could be pretty good as it just ends up being a 1/1 on the board on turn 1, not even a combo activator— there are only a very few combo cards in the early game that would need this. On the other hand, it takes up a card slot and there are other higher utility combo activators out there— Backstab, Preparation, etc. I like it though. EDIT: Gah! You changed it. I guess the change balances it, but it also makes it less exciting as it actually removes a card from your mulligan. Imagine playing Quest Rogue with this as well— 2 out of 4 cards in your hand are those cards, which are practically worthless.
@ TheRealMalfurion: I feel like this could be a 3/4 if it were a Warlock exclusive and had better flavour (i.e. a Demon). The token could also be Warlock-ized as well to improve it. As it is, it makes Quest Mage a little bit stronger and really has no business enabling Gadgetzan Auctioneer.
@ jamaldickson: Your first card, Zanzil the Outcast, is overcosted. A 5/3 costs 4 mana basically, and this is 2 mana more for an extremely conditional effect. Not only do you have to pull off a 7-mana, 2-card combo, anything at 4 Attack or over on your opponent's board is safe. You don't get to attack with those 0-Attack minions you get either. This could easily be a 5 mana 5/4 I feel. The other card is better, though. Unsharpened Blade (which should be called Sharpening Blade because it gets sharper as it goes on). The effect can be simplified in the text, like this: "Whenever this weapon gains Attack, double the Attack gained." You might compare it to Envenom, a card I didn't even know had existed until today. In fact, you could simply change the effect to be "After this weapon gains Attack, double its Attack." which is slightly different but slightly more powerful (i.e. If this weapon has 2 attack, somehow, and you cast Deadly Poison it would end up with 8 Attack ((2 + 2) * 2). The alternative would be, if it had 2 attack, it gains +2 Attack * 2 = total 6 attack. The former effect would likely make this a 4 cost card, but the latter one keeps it at 3.
1. Maddest Bomber: would have to find better art for the Dynamite :D Not sure why it has classic emblem and not gvg lol :p
2. Dagger of Venom: Pretty much more versatile winaxe :)
3. Honorable mention - Deathwing Incarnate: this one is just for fun :D iv made up a crazy story back in a day for it as well, where DW woke up in a female body after a drunken bender with Nozdormu :D
... so Deathwing and Nozdormu had too much to drink one night and they were messing around transforming into dragon and human forms back and forth, but before they passed out, they didnt realize that something was wrong. In Deathwings last transformation, he transfromed into a female!
When he woke up next to Noz in the morning, he was all confused, but after one look in the mirror, it all became painfully clear ... at least the fact that Noz cant do anything for longer than 15s was a tiny consolation in his mind, but that didnt stop him from breaking the mirror in anger anyway ... oh well, now back to ol' drake self before Noz wakes up and remmember: LAST NIGHT NEVER HAPPEND!!!
I think this could be rly interesting. Would u gamble on this card or not ?:)
I like the idea behind Maddest Bomber, though the summoning-dynamites thing just seems kind of clunky. I dunno, the card just doesn't appeal to me. It's also no more useful than its brethren. Dagger of Venom is more interesting, especially in light of that new Rogue card, though it's OP as it is now. Fiery War Axe is already really strong, and this card is strictly better. It's probably fine at 3, though. I think Mana Hungry Elemental could actually see play-you can play the card right away, and on average you benefit more because of the minion itself- especially in Ramp Druid or a control deck. It seems cool, I would just make it bigger for less turn 3 Tirions. And it should probably say "they cost (0)".
I think im gonna focus on the elemental, i like that ability a lot so im gonna try and balance it. So u think higher cost would be better, so u cant make crazy plays too early right?
Also i wasnt too sure on the wording. Eng is not my native language so, should it rly be "they" ? I was feeling like when i say "draws a card" its singular, so it should be "it" not they, since i am talking about a card that both players drew. dunno tho :D
Another idea. Not sure if it's a little underpowered? I find it pretty flavorful, but I'm biased after all. Waddayathink?
PortalWarden: As much as i love this, i think its little too broken with Sunfury/Argus. If your opponent doesnt have spell/weapon gg.
Cheers once again. Remember that the effect occurs AFTER the minion attacks, so I wouldn't say it's gg at all. If it's cleared by a 6 dmg guy, it's essentially a delayed 3 mana sap. If cleared by more than that, well that's just nice, but it's still an incredibly slow card which also needs an activator in order to actually have effect.
I had to create this card as well, cause... well, I really felt like it. The minion name is horrible, I know, but couldn't come up with anything good right now.
As for your cards Sinti, I'll come back to them, but for now I have to go to sleep!
Dagger of Venom: This is just busted. Win Axe is already one of the best cards in the game, and you want to make a more flexible version :/
The Maddest Bomber: This feels... weird. It just feels like a straight bad card.
Mana Hungry Elemental: This is pretty cool. I'd argue that this is too strong in a control deck. Since your average card will be so much stronger. The name also feels a bit iffy. But the idea is really good. I would vote for a tweaked version of this.
Do u think it would be better as later drop? So u cant ramp it up too early to have a random big minion as tempo swing?
I think this could be rly interesting. Would u gamble on this card or not ?:)
The effect of that is a 50/50 "I win or my opponent wins". Too strong in a ramp deck or combo deck.
These are my ideas, thoughts? . I'll try to return the feedback but I'm not very good evaluating cards.
Do u think higher cost would solve the issue of the 50/50 coin toss? Im kinda liking this ability so i would like to balance it if possible, but i can see how it could be bad early on, even tho it would still be pretty random, even inramp druid, u can still pull innervate or some other low cost crap :)
To your cards:
Mana Essence: cool :)
Chillblade Horse Rider: i think this card is too complicated. I mean not rly, but its kinda trying too hard. Also 4 charge for 3 mana is kinda a lot, even with the condition, which could be easilly met.
Injured Crusader: i rly dont like 0 Health minions that have some "super duper" deathrattle. I mean its balanced, but i dont like this type of cards. Im glad u made it epic, cause it would be busted in arena with the +1/+1 buffs to your minions in hand.
Yup, makig your card like 9 or 8 mana should be fine I guess. The problem of low cost mana is that you or you opponent can get very powerful turns too early. In the late game you can respod the card with huge minions or with various powerful spells.
Ahh yes, we've been expecting you. You'll have to be recorded before you're officially released. There are a few ways we can do this, and the choice is yours. See my submission to the WCDC hereand upvote if you like it. WCDC 8.3

Shadespawn's my favourite (Lyra is my favourite card from the set, and this gives it a boost). Ivar's not far behind. Looks cool. Not sure if too powerful, though.
I'm thinking the first one, since you're giving up some tempo to play the Secret in the first place, and the idea of free Savanna Highmanes is scary. They also need periods at the end.
Dagger of Venom: This is just busted. Win Axe is already one of the best cards in the game, and you want to make a more flexible version :/

9 or 8 is a bit too much for me, i was thinking abour 5-6 bump ... but what if i added the "if u played elemental last turn" ? in that case it couldnt be played in any deck, even tho that might go against what i wanted from this card :x
This is a reply to Sinti's Mana Hungry Elemental (just so other people don't get confused).
I think it should be a Druid card to make its applications a bit more limited. Then it should also probably be costed somewhere around 4 - 5 mana (considering smth with 5+ Attack could also make it viable in Jungle Giants Druid). It being neutral can cause a lot of frustration against certain deck, such as e.g. Burn Mage (getting 0 mana Pyroblast). As a Druid card it would more or less guarantee that the card remains in its theme of summoning something big and it wouldn't make mana ramp a neutral mechanic. That's just me though, its a hard effect to evaluate. Hopefully you found this useful.

Hmm. Thanks for the comments! Do you have (or does anyone else, for that matter!) have any thoughts on the Rogue cards?
1. Maddest Bomber: would have to find better art for the Dynamite :D Not sure why it has classic emblem and not gvg lol :p
2. Dagger of Venom: Pretty much more versatile winaxe :)

A higher cost would definitely be better! And for the wording, I was thinking "they" because you're referring to multiple cards (the two that were drawn), but yeah switching from singular to plural like that sounds kind of weird. You probably can get away with "it", now that I think about it. Also, unrelated but I agree with that other person about "Mana-Hungry".
Hi guys. I have been participating these competitions a lot but I almost never get the chance to get on finals. To be fair, your designs were so much better than mine and I learned so much from you guys. This competition I tried to put all those knowledge together and did a serious thinking. Here is my idea that inspired by the new mage legendary Sindragosa.
You can combo with some freeze cards and use your hero power to freeze stuff.
I really need your help and I will return the favor. What do you guys think? I am mostly not sure about the stats.
Ok, iv got several versions, what do u think about them? Honestly i kinda dont want to restrict it only for druid, so i kinda like the 2nd version the best. The 3rd one seems kinda clunky. Last one i made for lategame only, although i dont feel like the art screams "heavy hitter" :))
Also if someone could tell me for sure, if it should be "they cost" or "it costs" that would be great <3
/edit: oh another person who didnt rly like the name, any suggestions? i though it was kinda poetic :)
Damn that is OP. It's Pyros on steroids. This is just really too good a card. Well, I mean it could be fine because it has 0 Attack. Actually it's balanced. It needs an Elemental tag because it won't see play!! Buff it to a 1/1. No I mean a 2/2 because Hunter sucks.
For real: This is a fine card if the effect was +2/+2 and costs (2) more because the value generation is offset by the activation cost and the turn skipping. Other than that, add the Elemental tag and you're golden.

As a certified English-speaker, I think "They cost (0)" fits better. You can still technically use what you've got there, but it makes me uncomfortable to read it. I was thinking the second version, but once again it's swingy enough on your turn that the stats should be a bit less. I did say to look at Coldlight Oraclebut you didn't and know you pay the price!! Should be a 5 mana 3/3— compare Antique Healbot/Corrupted Healbot for the effect.
Now, anyone else have any thoughts on my cards?? (nested in a quote at the top of this page)
EDIT: I also like what TheRealMalfurion suggested in terms of wording. Also elegant and avoids singular/plurals almost entirely.
Cards that didn't make the cut :/ Maybe I don't see potential?
Spirit Of Wolf is my least favourite card from all of them... Idk what I was thinking :/
Well, then. Pls tell me what you think about those, they're my best made cards with this theme!
-Brood of Malygos: I really like this card, but I would make the mana cost higher, maybe like three mana? Leaving its mana cost in 0 can enable really powerful combos (Earth Elemental, Earth Elemental, next turn 0 mana +6 spell damage, 14 damage Frost Shocks, 22 damage Lava Bursts or 18 damage Lighting Bolts, this by just running some Earth Elementals those can fit easily in Control Shaman).
-Chained Knight: Also kind of powerful, blessing of might makes it a 5/2 for 0 mana. I would lower its attack to 1.
-Ancient Mage: Too powerful for sure. Imagine a mage with Preparation as her Hero Power, or any Hero with the ability of summoning 8 drops with Forbidden Shapping.

As a certified English-speaker, I think "They cost (0)" fits better. You can still technically use what you've got there, but it makes me uncomfortable to read it. I was thinking the second version, but once again it's swingy enough on your turn that the stats should be a bit less. I did say to look at Coldlight Oracle but you didn't and know you pay the price!!
