I actually really hope that the mage hero has interaction with elementals. They have enough spell synergy already.
although I'm a big fan of the elemental decks and I want to see more elemental synergy for the mage deck (and also for the other elemental decks out there), i don't think it's correct to make the mage class card so narrowed towards a specific deck-type
[edit] i just saw the leak, well damn; i personally would welcome this card, but i don't know how the rest of the community will accept it my opinion doesn't change - this card will benefit only 1 specific deck-type (on theory the hunter hero class card can be used in multiple decks; it suits a control oriented one better, but having beast synergy is widely spread among the whole class)
I think any mage hero that gets/tries to take the class away from the win condition of throwing spells at the opponents face is a good thing, so I welcome the leaked version and dislike the one presented here (even if it was balanced).
You have to choose, or discover, where you choose between 3 options only for your class, or random, you don't choose nothing but can get any spell in the game.

I agree to an extent. If it pushes an archetype that cannot be sustained/won't see play, then to me it seems like a waste of a legendary card. I don't think the elemental archetype, combined with the leaked hero at 9 mana, will be powerful enough to see play.
At the time being, I really don't know how to evaluate the Hero card (no Hero Power, no indication that it's legit), but if it is and the Hero Power is close in level to the Hunter one, it'll be a really underwhelming legendary that probably won't see play (unless there are like a ton of amazing Elementals that get added). It doesn't seem a very imaginative card (once again no hero power to compare to) and I'd rather have had something more to do with Freeze (even though Water Elemental does freeze it really doesn't fit, thematically) and less to do with elementals. However, what you're suggesting is worse because of the extreme power level of it and the random card generation aspect.
Maybe its just me, but I was expecting something a bit more geared towards spells for the mage hero.

You've gotta be joking. "Yeah, let's take a card a lot of people think is oppressive and un-fun and make that the HERO POWER." Makes tons of sense.
I think its a great mechanic. I don't really have a problem with primordial glyph. And it would be ANY spell, so not only mages.
Plus, spending 8 mana for no immediate impact is a huge tempo loss, so there's also a lot to lose.

This is exactly what I'm worried about. I don't like the hero card because its too niche whereas all mage decks could use spells.
8 mana.
Battlecry: deal 30 damage to your hero because fuck mages.
New Hero Power: if you somehow survived the battlecry, discover a a Pyroblast and cast it. It targets your hero.
Fuck mages.
