Your Cycle must have a mechanical connection. A thematic connection is preferred, but not required.
We have whittled down ~80 valid entries to just 8of the community's favorites. Wow, so few entries, definitively seems like a mini-competition.
However, going to vote for Kinesis Cycle, Rebel Cycle and Unstable Cycle.
The theme was definitively hard to work with it, I admit it, I just at simple saw didn't understood what I needed to do, but now that I see the submissions, I think it was a really hard theme to work on.
Season 6 it's my season, I'm feeling it. 3 of 3 times at the finals... I want that cool 'Card Design Champion' frame! But those frogs seems too nice... and nerf Cogito.
Alright, I haven't done a review here for a while, so here are your reviews!
Kinesis Cycle by Cogito_Ergo_Sum: I like how all of the colours of the cards' borders are the primary colours (red, blue, yellow), but what bothers me is that Photokinesis (the ability to control light) is yellow when the primary colours of light are red, blue, and green. This is a travesty to the aesthetic of the cycle! [Not Voted]
Frog Cycle by Ozymandis: I love the flavour (and cuteness) here! This is a innovative and highly appropriate way to toy with the transform mechanic! Each of the cards are so expertly designed and fit well for each class. Hexed Frog works cleverly well with Evolve and Devolve (and Hex of course). Bouncing Frog is a brilliant way to go with the "bouncing back to your hand" theme and the "play a card more than once" theme that Rogues are going for. Chilled Frog puts a new, inventive spin on the Freeze mechanic as you are now trying to Freeze the cards that you most want have (and you're gonna want to do that anyways) instead of Freezing minions willy-nilly. [Voted]
Vigor Cycleby CheeseEtc: I really like how this cycle affects the meta. For one, it encourages control decks with big minions in them so that you get the advantage. It also encourages minion trading in order to cause minions to be damaged in the first place. All of the cards' effects are well-balanced and provide a useful effect; I especially love Earth's Vigor. What I really find amusing is that these all belong to all of classes with healing EXCEPT Priest; this breaks boundaries without going overboard. [Voted]
Accelerated Cycle by ThisOtherGuyFox: I'm a bit partial to this cycle's theme because its effect is similar to one of my first fanmade cards (Full Moonfire, which almost has the same effect as Accelerated Strike). That doesn't make it a bad effect, and it plays well into the RNG/skill nature of Hearthstone. Cards from this cycle create a difficult decision: Do you play this card while it's cheap (even if it isn't the optimum play)? Or do you save it for when you actually need it later (even if it is expensive)? More hard choices mean more chances for skilled plays and risk/reward situations, and I'm all for that! [Voted]
Form Cycle by RazorOfArtorias: Despite its simplicity, it's an innovative and ingenious cycle that plays with a mechanic that really should be explored more often. I like how almost every card in the cycle matches the class's identity and makes sense when it is put on a hero. The only one that doesn't really fit the class's theme is Snake Form, but that just has such a neat interaction with Druid's hero power and Druid's "Giving your hero attack" theme that it's negligible. The cycle also plays with the keywords, and I'm fond of that. [Voted]
Knight Cycle by CasmX: The theme of the cycle is okay, but I can't help but feel like this is too similar to Blood Knight. Plus, the cycle's effects are too situational. Poisonous is barely put on any cards, and I haven't seen a card with Windfury in the meta since...ever. the card that I can see being played is Defiant Knight, but even then, Taunt is the keyword that mainly counters Aggro decks. Adding this card to the game would allow Aggro decks to be able to hit the face EVEN more, and Hearthstone has enough cards that encourage an Aggro meta. [Not Voted]
Rebel Cycle by Gnomenschuh: I would've really preferred it if it effected minions with less attack. Also, the lack of capitalization is kind of triggering my OCD. However, as it stands, I'm not fond of the cycle. For one, Silver Hand Rebel can just be worded as "This is Immune whenever this attacks a minion with more Attack". For another, this discourages Control decks as it's better against decks with big minions, and as pre-nerf Big Game Hunter shows, that makes the game less fun. Additionally, we need more Control decks, and this cycle isn't helping. [Not Voted]
Unstable Cycle by Zence: I love this cycle! I may be biased because I like Elementals, but it's still a great effect. Despite the fact that swapping Attack and Health has been in Hearthstone since Beta, this creates a brand new twist on it. This lengthens the period time a minion is on the board because the Attack of the minions' Health; this can be very useful for keeping certain effects (like Unstable Sea). Noticeably, this survivability aspect works well against decks with small minions as they just keep flipping the minion's stats instead of just killing it in one shot; in other words, this counters Aggro decks, which is great! This cycle's effect can also give the minions a stronger Attack which synergizes well with the minion's keyword (like Unstable Flame and Unstable Vortex). I also love the simplicity of changing the minions' Keyword, which makes a huge effect on the minion's role despite the little alteration.
[Not Voted]
Actually, the similarity to Blood Knight is intentional. The cycle is a continuation from that, which is why they're all Knights. lol. Also, I adjusted the stat boost benefits based on the effectiveness of the keyword they're removing. You mention Windfury not really being seen in the meta, and aside from Adapt minions, I agree. But that's also why it provides more of a stat boost when it removes them as opposed to the other versions.
Also, just a personal ideology, but I don't think every submitted card needs to be meta viable. Arena viable or just for fun cards certainly have their place in these competitions. Just my own 2 cents.
That being said, I honestly am surprised my submission made it to the final round. Not complaining, it's just there were quite a few really creative ideas tossed out there. At any rate, good luck to the other finalists!
For the organisator: Name before cards would be better, first I voted for cogito and his frogs... but in fact it wasn't cogito who made the frogs. The presentation in confusing I thing :/

You can find me here! Good luck everyone!
This dosen't feel like a competition. Cogitos submission is way better than the remaining ones.
I want a new title, but Flux won't let me have one,
Can we just give a hand to ShadowsOfSense for organizing this entire final poll, which was probably a pain in the neck? (I'm so sorry Shadow.)
