As an outsider, demons have always been bad guys in other stories, so maybe thats why it didnt quite feel right. The fact that demons are multi dimmensional in WOW is kinda cool.

The flavor still doesnt feel right to me, but I'll default to the prevailing opinion on this one since Im obviously less informed.

The Draenei are the sect of Eredar who did not become Demons. Although their race is definitely heavily related to them. Kil'Jaden and Archimonde were Eredar whom were talked into becoming leaders of the Burning Legion, bringing most Eredar with them. Demons in WoW are sometimes villains although very few are altruistically good. Some just want to exist as they are, like most of the Warlock pets they summon. Some Demons might be mercenaries as well, going against the wishes of the legion but not exactly good guys.
