This week, we want you to similarly re-imagine an existing Hearthstone character. You may select a character that is already represented as either a collectible Legendary Minion, a token Legendary Minion produced by a collectible card, or a playable Hero. Note that we are excluding characters that already appear but only as entirely non-playable, such as Adventure bosses and their cards. Once you've selected your character, you can go about re-imagining them in one of two ways:
2) As a token produced by a collectible card. An example would be how Ragnaros the Firelord was re-imagined as a playable Hero by way of Majordomo Executus.
You may not select a character that Hearthstone has already re-imagined before. Ragnaros has gotten enough attention, and there are tons of other characters out there that could use more love.
Your card's effect must be substantially different from the card on which it is based. This is not a place for re-balancing agendas, no matter how overpowered or underpowered you think a card is.
To be clear, this is not a parody competition. Your card should represent an existing character, not a parody of an existing character.
This week is tough enough with the thematic restriction potentially making artwork somewhat of a challenge to procure, so there is no mechanical challenge beyond the above.
General Competition Rules
These are the rules that remain consistent from competition to competition.
First, these are the rules about Posting:
You are allowed to submit only one entry. An entry normally consists of only one collectible card, plus any necessary additional material or commentary (explained below).
You are allowed to post in this Submission Topic only once, only to submit your one entry.
You may not delete ANY posts you make in this Submission Topic, not even accidental ones you may make over your one allowed, such as by double-posting or by accidentally posting something here that you meant for the Discussion Topic. If you do accidentally post more than once, inform any of the Fan Creation Forum moderators via PM, and we will handle it.
Speaking of the Discussion Topic, that is where any discussion of this competition should go. This thread is for submissions only. If you want to discuss your card or ask questions about the competition rules or process, you can find a link to the Discussion Topic at the top of this thread. Plenty of folks there will be happy to help you out.
Once you have submitted your one entry, you are allowed to make only minor changes to it. Minor changes are things like correcting typos or making balance changes that do not alter the spirit of your entry as determined by we the moderators. If you want to make any changes and have any doubts as to their legality, ask us first.
These are the rules about your Submission:
Accompanying the image of your card, you may offer some minimal additional commentary to explain its design, balance, and/or other qualities. Flavor text is also welcome.
You may not submit any Gold cards or animated cards. (It's just a cheap attention grab tactic that makes it unnecessarily difficult to determine what class your card is for.)
Your entry must be a card of your own creation. We've been doing this for a while, so if you blatantly rip off somebody else's idea, we will know.
Remember that, although HearthCards is awesome, you MUST host your card somewhere other than Hearthcards. Save it and upload it toImgur, Photobucket, or some other similar site. HearthCards has a limited server space and will purge cards after a few days, and nobody wants your card disappearing part-way through the finals. We understand that there are some HearthCards memberships that will allow you to save your card there for longer (and you should totally get one of those just for general fan creation purposes, by the way), but we don't know who has those memberships and we can't tell from the URLs.
Fun and even humorous entries are perfectly allowed, but "troll" entries will be disqualified. If you're worried that your card may be misinterpreted as a troll card, contact a moderator before you submit.
TIP: Though not a rule exactly, we highly recommend that you insert your images using this icon on the bar above the post text editor: . Just click that button and put in the URL of your image. Cards that are uploaded and attached to your post are not disallowed, but in our experience they will not do nearly as well, so this is for your own benefit more than anything.
Finally, know that manipulating votes in any way is strictly forbidden. Any violators will receive an official warning, and will be banned from this and all future HearthPwn Card Design Competitions.
Competition Process
Entry and Early Voting Phase (Starts Now! Ends 19:00 UTC 10/April/2017) During this Phase, the Submission Topic is made available for your submissions. You may also, of course, feel free to give early up-votes to any submissions that you like! Voting Phase (Starts 19:00 UTC 10/April/2017, Ends 19:00 UTC 11/April/2017) During this Phase, the Submission Topic will be locked, so no more entries may be submitted. Instead, use this time to browse the submissions and up-vote your favorites! Final Phase (Starts 20:00 UTC 11/April/2017, Ends 20:00 UTC 12/April/2017) During this Phase, the Discussion Topic will also be locked, and a new Poll Topic will go up. Discussion will be allowed to continue in the Poll Topic, and it will also include all the qualifying finalists and poll to decide the winner of the competition!
How do we determine the qualifying finalists? First, we'll pull up-vote data from each submission using the formula detailed below:
(ab) / (c) = x
Where, a = The total number of submissions on the same page as the submission. b = The total number of up-votes that the submission received. c = The total number of up-votes on the same page as the submission. x = The submission's final score.
The formula basically measures which cards stood out the most, with the necessary assumption that each page is about equal in overall submission quality. It will be the entries that receive the highest final scores that move on to the Final Phase.
The bottom line is that, although entries on the earlier pages of the Submission Topic are much more visible and thus receive many more up-votes than entries on later pages, you don't actually have to rush to get your entry in as soon as possible because the up-votes end up being weighted by what page your entry ends up on in order to determine its final score.
But wait, there's more! During each Weekly Card Design Competition, each Fan Creation Forum moderators will be given a Wild Card, which they can use to advance any one entry that they feel was initially overlooked or under-appreciated to the Final Phase, regardless of its final score. Wild Cards are our way of spicing things up a bit, but please don't ask to be given one or be upset if you aren't given one. These are just supposed to be fun. (Also, it should go without saying that, while we moderators are allowed to participate in the competitions, we are not allowed to benefit from Wild Cards.)
Rewards
Bragging rights are always awesome, but as usual, we do offer a couple of HearthPwn site rewards to competition winners: Their card forever immortalized in our Winners' Gallery! They will be allowed to select the next card design competition theme. And a unique Avatar Border & "Card Design Champion" Title, as depicted below!
How well do YOU know the cards of Hearthstone? Better bring your best calculator when you're at it as well! Both YOU and your opponent needs to remember what's what and for how much or how little.
Flavor: Keeping track of time is one thing. Keeping track of ALL time is another thing. Or was it the other way around? Wait, where am I?
The idea behind the card is that as an archaeologist, he uncovers secrets.
Basically, all secrets in your deck become non secret normal spells. This would allow you to use their effects proactively while avoiding your opponent countering or predicting your secrets. Some secrets become more powerful when they are in their non-secret form, and some lose some of their value. I have recreated all secrets from every class, and here they are:
Mage Secrets:
Things to consider: Spellbender becomes a minion because a spell that summons a spellbender would be redundant.
That's all for Reno. I must admit it took me a while to think this through and some cards gave me a hard time like Spellbender. Noble Sacrifice, Eye for an Eye, and Misdirection. But in the end, some secrets are better left as secrets.
I actually have two other ideas if anyone is interested. And (if it's allowed) I can fix the card text positioning to make it look a bit better if I need to.
Alright so i decided to go with Nozdormu. I never really played WoW so i don't know much about the lorde. But i know the bronze dragonflight are time masters so i made a Nozdormu card that does something with time. Hope you guys like it.
flavour text: A time dragon is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Gul'dan corrupts minions, infects them with rage-inducing fel energy until they eventually succumb and die. Balanced around the new Corrupting Mist card along with some enrage flavour - though if you knew this was your upcoming turn you could try game the board to give yourself damaged minions or eliminate your opponents and in that way hopefully protect Gul'dans body.
Mah Boy Leeroy, back at it again. Originally I thought about a 10 cost Leeroy that filled your opponents board with Whelps, and was a 10/1 charge. Seemed to "niche" or even op. Then i considered a Leeroy that filled YOUR board with whelps, but that was just onyxia. (Which i then dabbled with a 1 cost 1/1 leeroy that gave whelps charge, but that still felt meh)
In the end I flipped the whole script. this leeroy instead holds the line as a beefy taunt, and summons his favorite thing: Chickens. this accomplishes a bonus goal i wanted which was that Angry chicken needs more love, so a filed of them sounded good. Buff the chickens and (if you can) get them angry. Not necessarily for every deck but good enough to build around.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Hi i'm Tyler and I play hearthstone and watch anime.
Sometimes i make cards. I'd like to do that for a career one day if ever possible.
This is the Submission Topic. The Discussion Topic is here.
Competition Theme: Character Development
This weeks theme comes from Asylum_Rhapsody whose "Cruel Pyromancer" was the winner of our "Elementary" competition.
Competition-Specific Restrictions:
Journey to Un'Goro saw the return of two beloved characters, Elise Starseeker re-imagined as Elise the Trailblazer and Hemet Nesingwary re-imagined as Hemet, Jungle Hunter. They're hardly the first characters that Hearthstone has given multiple takes, and Whispers of the Old Gods alone gave us Deathwing, Dragonlord, Ragnaros, Lightlord, Hogger, Doom of Elwynn, Mukla, Tyrant of the Vale, and Nat, the Darkfisher. Indeed, Blackrock Mountain was Hearthstone's first attempt at reusing an existing Legendary character, when Majordomo Executus gave us a second way to play as Ragnaros! And, of course, Medivh, the Guardian is an alternate take on a Hero we already have.

Good Luck!
Check here for my new cards!Pokemon HS class! All the Pokemon as HS cards!
Skull of Gul'dan works like Curse of Rafaam when you play it's discarded.
This guy deserves a powerful card. This one is simple, but I feel it fits thematically.
You better be Prepared to remove him fast.
We all know it should have been a warrior card.
How well do YOU know the cards of Hearthstone? Better bring your best calculator when you're at it as well! Both YOU and your opponent needs to remember what's what and for how much or how little.

Good luck everyone.
*Update: Fixed the text/wording.
Check out my submission for this weeks card design competition; or my other fan creations! Nullius in verba
I didn't have a signature so Flux added one for me.
Reno got rich by selling the golden monkey.
Reno The Archaeologist
The idea behind the card is that as an archaeologist, he uncovers secrets.
Basically, all secrets in your deck become non secret normal spells. This would allow you to use their effects proactively while avoiding your opponent countering or predicting your secrets. Some secrets become more powerful when they are in their non-secret form, and some lose some of their value. I have recreated all secrets from every class, and here they are:
Mage Secrets:
Things to consider: Spellbender becomes a minion because a spell that summons a spellbender would be redundant.
Vaporize and Potion of Polymorph become powerful and cheap removal tools. Mirror Entity, Effigy, and Duplicate become good tempo cards. Ice Barrier becomes a powerful defensive tool. Cards like Counterspell, Ice Block, and Spellbender are better left as secrets. Mana Bind is debatable.
Hunter Secrets:
Bear Trap, Snake Trap, and Cat Trick give your some good old vanilla minions but with a discount. Dart Trap, Explosive Trap, Freezing Trap, and Snipe become powerful and cheap removal/board clears. Misdirection and Hidden Cache were, and will always be bad cards.
Paladin Secrets:
Avenge and Competitive Spirit become nice minion buffs. Getaway Kodo and Redemption can help you keep some key minions like Tirion Fordring. Sacred Trial and Repentance can be used as very cheap removals. Noble Sacrifice and Eye for an Eye were very tricky to recreate as normal spells, but I tried my best. It might be better off to keep them as secrets and not include them in a deck.
That's all for Reno. I must admit it took me a while to think this through and some cards gave me a hard time like Spellbender. Noble Sacrifice, Eye for an Eye, and Misdirection. But in the end, some secrets are better left as secrets.

Tried to stay true to Loatheb while providing a fun twist on his original mechanic. Good luck everyone!
Acting leader of the horde, world of warcraft.
Another Gelbin Mekkatorque
don't question it...

Note: just like Truesilver Champion the effect triggers before the actual attack.
Edwin has finally become a Disney Princess.
Thanks to @Lathy for helping designing the card!

Rafaam takes your deck. However, the legendary doesn't show that idea really.
This version has the burgle effect, except it is discover with the league of explorers effect.
Flavor Text "Victory, it tastes just like my chicken."
Angry Chicken
