The Dancer Class specializes in movement and numbers. With their unique Shift mechanic allowing them to manipulate the board to their advantage. Minion buffs are a common theme in the Dancer class, so expect a lot of them.
Basic Set:
Up first is the minions:
Tavern Musician takes advantage of the Class's Hero Power to get the most out of the aura buff. Attacking with the buffed minion before switching it with another.
Exhausted Dancer also has synergy with the Class's Hero Power as well as the various buffs in the Class's arsenal. Gaining increased Attack whenever its Health is increased. Be it by healing or buffing.
Call For Backup isn't a minion, but its purpose is to summon minions in quantity. There are a few cards that take advantage of minion numbers or benefit more from multiple minions.
Token for Call For Backup:
Next up is Buffs:
Quality Fleece is a small buff with inspiration from Power Word: Shield. Most buffs in the Dancer Class focuses on even spread buffs over Attack or Health focused buffs.
Devilsaur Leggings gives +5/+5 for 4-mana but requires at least 3 minions to get the full benefit. It has potential to surpass Blessing of Kings but lacks reliability.
Towering Garments gives a constantly updating buff. Works well with Exhausted Dancer to increase its Attack whenever you summon a minion. Call For Backup also helps boost the minion buffed with Towering Garments.
I'll Finish up the Basic Set with spells:
Restoration is a healing card that has increasing worth the more minions you control. It can heal anywhere from 2 to 16 Health.
Amplification is a damaging spell that gains more value the more minions you control. It can deal anywhere from 1 to 8 damage.
Lightshow is a board clear that is affected by the number of minions your opponent controls. It can deal anywhere from 0 to 7 damage.
Hypnotize is a temporary Mind Control that hits an enemy minion at random. Can be useful for removing a large Taunt minion to deal the fatal blow or protect you minions for a turn.
Classic Set:
Classic Set sees the introduction of the Shift mechanic. Up first are the minions that benefit from Shifting:
Elven Model is card draw with a small body. Useful for refilling you hand by chaining multiple Shift effects.
Ethereal Shuffler is a build your own Doppelgangster. The copies copy everything from the original, including the buffs.
Shifting Mountain is a smaller Bog Creeper that can gain Health through Shifting.
Next are cards that Shift minions:
Blade Dancer allows for early game Shifting. Curves well with Elven Model for card draw.
Duet is a +4/+4 buff for 3-mana. It can only be cast when you control at least 2 minions and you can not control the minions it lands on. The minions that gain the buff then Shift with each other.
Practice is a small +2/+2 buff for 2-mana. Can enable Shift effects as well.
Dance with the Beast is a 4-mana 4/5 Beast with Taunt that can only be summoned when you control another minion. The Beast Shifts with the minion targeted. Curves well with Elven Model for card draw.
Dance with the Beast Token:
Now for cards that affect Shifting:
Ice Skating allows you to get the most out of Shifting. It does make the finer movement more difficult, though. Shift cards like Duet and Dance with the Beast will result in the minions swapping back and forth, ending in the same position they started.
Happy Feet gives any minion that Shifts this turn +1/+1. Combining it with Ice Skating can result in crazy stat boosts.
The Dancer Class also got more Removal cards in the Classic set too:
Egotism is a removal tool against a wide board. It can deal 2, 4, or 6 damage depending on the number of adjacent minions.
Spotlight is a board clear that destroys all minions except for the rightmost minions. It costs less than Twisting Nether because it leaves a minion on the board for each player. Works well with your Hero Power to control which minion your opponent keeps.
Kicked Off Stage is a removal card that can only destroy the minion on the far left. Just like Spotlight, it works great with the Class's Hero Power.
The rest of the cards are too few to make their own category for, so I'll include them together:
Resurgence is a minion heal attached to a +1/+1 buff. Encourages trading before healing them back up to full with a small buff.
Exotic Dancer Lunakua synergies with buffs or targeted effects. Dance with the Beast, for example, will summon two 4/5 Taunts instead of one.
Troll Breakdancer summons a 3/4 Tauren Bodyguard. Tauren Bodyguard's effect gives all minions to its left +1 Health. That means you get 2 4/4s for 7-mana. Any minion to the right of the duo will receive +1 Attack. Any minion to the left will receive +1 Health. Any minion in between the two will receive +1/+1.
Troll Breakdancer Token:
Blackrock Mountain Set:
Rock Star deals 1 damage whenever it Shifts. useful for controlling the board and countering a swarm of minions.
Dance with the Dragon summons a 3/2 Dragon with Divine Shield. Like Dance with the Beast, it requires a minion to be on the board to cast it.
Dance with the Dragon Token:
The Grand Tournament Set:
With a new expansion comes new buffs:
Hot Pants gives a minion +1/+1 for 0-mana. Synergizes with minions that benefit from targeted spells.
Dance with the Angels is the third Dance card and will be a recurring theme in the Class. It gives +1/+1 and Divine Shield before Shifting it.
Ancient Techniques is a worse Blessing of Kings with the chance of surpassing it for +5/+5.
Shifting is still strong in the Class and with new ways of Shifting comes more possibilities:
Draenei Tap Dancer allows you for a much more precise Shift. With it, you can control exactly where the minion will Shift to.
Poetry in Motion will Shift your left and right most minions inwards. Placing your Shift minions on the far sides can give this card crazy value.
We will end the TGT Set with minions that buff:
Boogie Beast is the first Deathrattle minion for this Class. When it dies it drops the buff card Quality Fleece. In case you don't remember, Quality Fleece is a 1-mana spell that gives a minion +1/+1 and draws a card.
Salsa Master Lyeda is the Inspire card of this set. It gives +1/+1 to the minions next to it and gives them +1/+1 whenever you use your Hero Power.
Val'kyr Sky Dancer has a different stat distribution depending on where you summon it and how many minions you have. It can range anywhere between a 10/5 or a 4/11.
Djinni of Greed gives its adjacent minions +1/+1 whenever you cast a spell on it. Suddenly your Hot Pants are giving +1/+1 to three minions instead of one.
My Class never made it far enough for the LoE and WotOG Sets, but this is likely what I would have presented had I advanced to Phase V:
Possessed Boots gives +1/+1. Like Explorer's Hat, Possessed Boots are hard to get rid of. They pass from one minion to the next until there are no more minions left to move on to. Unlike Explorer's Hat, they can wind up on an enemy minion.
Slithering Snakes are ignored by your enemies Secrets. That means Explosive Trap or Ice Block won't trigger because of this minion's attack. However, that means you can't use it to trigger Mirror Entity or Snipe. Maybe you want Slithering Snakes to trigger the Hunter's Freezing Trap or Mage's Vaporize so your other minion is free to attack. It has its own positives and negatives depending on the situation.
Dance with Nature is a 7-mana 8/8 that requires a minion on the board. Can combo great with Exotic Dancer Lunakua for double 8/8s on turn 10+.
Dance with Nature Token:
Whispers of the Old Gods Set:
Old God Synergies were some of the things I was looking forward to in the WotOG set. I'll start it off with some simple C'Thun and N'Zoth synergy:
Ritual Summoner is the Dancer Class's C'thun buffer. It will give your C'thun +1/+1 whenever it Shifts.
Fire Twirler is an annoying minion that will keep coming back until your opponent is able to kill it and the Skull it summons. Great with N'zoth if you are able to resurrect it a few times.
Fire Twirler Token:
What would an Old Gods Set be if it didn't gain from the death of others? Here are some more buffs:
Corrupted Form gives a minion +1/+1 for each minion that died that turn. With more minions that died, the stronger this spell becomes.
Dance of Death saps the strength from your foe to feed your minions. Giving all enemy minions -2/-2 while simultaneously giving your own minion +2/+2.
More Shift cards:
Forbidden Dance will Shift a minion to the left for each mana you spend. Works great with Ritual Summoner to give your C'thun up to +7/+7.
Performing Temptress will add a Coin to your hand whenever it Shifts. Warlocks aren't the only Class with Demons
Dance with the Demon will summon a 2/2 Demon with Stealth. It requires a minion on the board to summon it.
Dance with the Demon Token:
The remainder of the Set:
Queen Azshara gives the adjacent minions Windfury. The cost for such a powerful effect has made it a 9-mana 4/4.
Audition Discovers 2 minions. Instead of drawing cards, you add two minions to your hand. There hasn't been a double Discover effect aside from Brann Bronzebeard or Fandral Staghelm shenanigans.
The One Night in Karazhan and Mean Streets of Gadgetzan Sets will be completed once the challenges for Phase VI of the Asylum's Gauntlet have been revealed.
love this class it's op, but vary fun. I love the idea of building up your bored and punting on a grand dance to win the game, it looks like i would be conducting an opera.
I'm going to review this at some point I promise, because I have to keep you in line now that you're just freely creating all these cards without feedback. :P
