So I got second place then? To be honest, that's better than what I expected when I started working on this. I hope I can keep this up
Challenge 1 might hurt my class a bit but I'll manage. Can you define a spell having the primary function of summoning a minion? As I planned my class to have token summoning and buffing stuff, but I might be limited to just a couple in the basic set.

I imagine any spell that summons specific minions (Spirit Wolves, Force of Nature, Mirror Image, Kharazhan portal spells) falls within that category.
That being said, here is my Basic set I made if anyone has any feedback:
The Worgen Class
Lore:
Centuries ago, the Lords of Winter’s Fall fell victim to the Worgen curse. The exact circumstances are shrowded in mystery, but the lord who brought the curse upon his family was a renowned mage. A small, secluded principality in the Alterac Mountains, Winter’s Fall was completely cut off from the outside world after this calamity, to hide their lord’s embarassment. In time, the lords learned to control their Worgen curse, shapeshifting at will between human and wolf form, but the curse was never lifted, nor could they remain as humans for long, and so their kingdom’s long isolation continued. Recently, the new lord of Winter’s Fall, Howe Hark, has learned that a new kingdom of Worgen, Gilneas. With the threat posed by the Forsaken, he has ended his seclusion and brought his forces to the aid of Gilneas and the alliance. The Young Wolf, as he is known, is known for both his brilliant military strategy and savagery on the field of battle. Mastery of his Worgen form means he is alternately rallying his loyal men into battle and tearing out the hearts of his enemies.
Reminder about how the class works:
The Worgen class centers around shifting between Worgen and Human form. Using the Worgen Form hero power (which you start the game with) gives you +1 Attack that turn and transforms you into a Worgen. This changes your hero power to Human Form, but you can’t use it until the next turn. When Human Form is used, your Hero heals 2 health and transforms into a human. The unique keywords of the class are Worgen and Human:
Cards with these keywords trigger an extra effect if you play them while you're in that form. Human/Worgen keyword cards are inefficient if played in the wrong form and extra efficient if played while in the right form. One of the key mechanics of the class is switching between forms at the right times to efficiently play cards.
There is a binary theme to the class, based on the two forms you switch between. Howe Hark has cards that focus on the savagery of his Worgen form, dealing damage or buffing attack, similar to Druid shapeshift-themed cards, and also cards that focus on supporting or buffing his minions, representing how he inspires and leads his men while in human form. There are also several secondary themes. The class has cards themed to snowy Alterac homeland of Howe Hark (including Freeze cards). There are also going to be cards that focus on class cards, representing the solidarity of Worgen.
Because of the hero power and binary theme, the class is well-suited for hybrid playstyles, and lots of cards will be versatile. If the hero power is used effectively, Worgen excels at tempo, since Human/Worgen cards are mana efficient when in the right form. This is also a weapon class, and both cards and your hero power buff your attack and restore health, so it is good at controlling the board, as well. Some of these control tools could be repurposed for Aggro, as well, especially in a Pirate deck.
Possible Example cards:
Basic Set:
Two things:
1º: "From your class" means that, if other classes get acces to this, will it be from their class instead?
2º: a 1 mana 2/2 that can't be frozen seems a bit too strong to me. It might be better to make it a 1/2 or a 2/1, or increase it's mana cost to 2.
1. Yes, it's worded that way so that it works the same for every class, since other classes can get a hold of it.
2. I view "Cannot be Frozen" as next to worthless. How often is that even going to matter? Especially when this minion won't survive Frostbolt or Blizzard without a buff. This isn't really any better than Enchanted Raven. This would be crazy weak if I nerfed it's stats.
Would it be worth changing it to a 2 mana 2/3 if you feel that it would be too weak as a 2/2? I'm suggesting because I agree with Diamon; I think a 1 mana 2/2 that cannot be effected by Freeze, bearing in mind that there are non-damaging freeze effects such as Frost Nova which IS a common card and IS often played with Doomsayer in particular is a little too powerful. It's just something to consider.
It's important that it remain 1 mana. I created it so that there would be a Basic target for Champion of Azeroth on turn 2. I would rather just remove the card text and leave it vanilla.
@nurgling13 : Congratulations for your qualification to the second phase.
Hunted : Is the effect permanent (Give an enemy minion "Takes double damage") or temporary (Choose a minion. It takes double damage this turn)? (I think it doesn't matter most of the time...)
Worgen Assassin : Dealing 4 damage to a minion is worth 3 mana (Shadow Bolt) and a 4/4 minion is worth 3.5 mana (Chillwind Yeti). The card seems too strong for its cost, but the effect suits the class well.
Your cards give an excellent feel about the class themes : frost, solidarity, worgens...
Hunted - The effect is permanent. In most cases it wouldn't matter, but you might do that if you had a Taunt minion out the enemy would have to run into.
Worgen Assassin - I think most people would agree Shadow Bolt is a weak card, and dealing 4 mana to a minion is worth less than 3 mana. I mean, dealing 3 damage is worth less than 2 mana considering the number of spells for 2 that deal 3 damage plus an additional effect (e.g., Frostbolt, Quick Shot). Dealing 6 damage to anything is worth 4 mana to Mage with Fireball, which means 3 mana would be worth 4.5 damage to anything, for them. But these are all spells. Compare to Fire Elemental. A 3 damage Battlecry is worth only 1 mana on this basic minion. I have dealing 4 damage valued at 1.5 mana on my own, which is comparable.
Going to agree with nurgling here, Shadow Bolt is a particularily weak card due to Warlock having a very strong class kit. It's spells are almost never as good as spells from other classes.
About Alpine Wolf: It seems pretty flavourful to me, and just a teensy tiny bit better than enchanted raven. As long as this is the class 1-drop and the "Can't be frozen" doesn't become a theme, it's pretty good where it is.
So I got second place then? To be honest, that's better than what I expected when I started working on this. I hope I can keep this up

Dont think it works like this, Asylum stated that minion summoning spells count as minions in this challenge ;)
The post states that if a spells only (or clearly primary) function is to summon a minion, it's counted to the limit. But what about something with the main focus being something else? Karazhan portals kind of are like this, would a card like those be allowed or where is the line drawn?

I'd argue that if it summoned a unique minion or class minion it would count toward the limit. A card that summoned a random 1-cost might not, nor would something that put a nonspecific minion into your hand, but I'd wait for Asylum to respond.
Those 3 challenges aren't the REAL challenges for me, the real challenge is finding family friendly Tsareena artwork (Or at least artwork that fits). Anyway, about the 3rd challenge, you stated "For this challenge, you must show us another one of your cards from a future Phase of this competition. That means it must be part of your future Classic, BRM, TGT, LoE, WotOG, ONiK, or MSoG set.". I have two questions about this.
1. Surely BRM, LoE and ONiK wouldn't work because there are no class legendaries, so how could the legendary designed be included in there? Am I missing something?
2. Does this mean Naxx and GvG aren't parts of the challenge? I assumed they would be.
I really like the second challenge. Gonna definitely do Chandelure or some other Ghost pokemon. BTW. How do I insert a spoiler within another spoiler without removing the first one? Nergling13 did it above, so I was just curious.

1. The Pokémon minion can be from one of the adventures but not the legendary for the reason you listed.
Oh man, super pumped to make it round 2. Most of my favorite submissions also made it, which is great.
The pokemon challenge.... not thrilled to use pokemon art, but I'm sure I can find a decent moltrez for a phoenix. I never played any of the games past R&B, though I played the card game through Gen2. I'll probably look through the pokedex and see if anything catches my eye.
@nurgling13: I agree with some other posters 1 mana 2/2 that is immune to freeze isn't OP, but it's above average. Enchanted Raven is already an exceptional 1 mana minion. And while being immune to freeze is essentially a 0 cost effect, I'd at least put it on a 1 drop with average states, 1/2 or 2/1. Though I suppose Small Time Buccaneer throws balance out the window.... but we aren't to MSoG yet :)
Other than that, consider carefully how you word the "from your class" and "not from your class" mechanics. I think it was Burgle and Swashburglar that had their text re-written prior to Gadgetzan and the release of tri-class cards? I'd take a look at all of the cards that use mechanics like this and try to use similar wording. While these syntax concerns aren't a big deal until LoE and the discover cards and MSoG and tri-class cards, in classic there is still Loremaster Cho.
But it all looks simple and clean! Just like a basic set should.
Okay, so there seems to be a lot of disagreement over my Alpine Wolf card. I'd like to ask about these two versions:
As I've pointed out, "Cannot be Frozen" is an almost worthless effect that is surely worth 0 mana. The left version is what I have now, and is only extremely marginally better than Enchanted Raven. The right version is clearly worse than cards like Voidwalker and Mana Wyrm. So, is the left one significantly better than the right one? Same number of stats, just +1/-1.
Can you define a spell having the primary function of summoning a minion?
Is that the primary effect of the spell? For example Force of Nature's primary function is obviously summoning minions, and even On the Hunt and the Karazhan portals would also count even though summoning a minion isn't their only primary effect. Bane of Doom's or Blood To Ichor's summon might be considered a secondary effect since they're conditional and the primary effect of the power is clearly to deal damage. There's going to be some grey area here, but try to adhere to the spirit of focusing on stuff other than just minions, please, and if you have any doubt about any specific card, just ask. =)
What if we summon minions for our opponents? Does it still count?
I'm going to consider that a secondary effect. Obviously it's a downside attached to a particularly powerful primary effect. However, I'd caution you regardless on having too many of these just because you don't want to look one-dimensional by focusing on just that gimmick.

1) I just copy/pasted from the Pokemon challenge part and am dumb. I will remove those to avoid confusion. =P
Aw mayn didn't make it... I feel kinda left out. I can't believe that this time I'm gonna be that guy but I'll ask anyway - is it possible that a person with less / equal likes on the same page makes it but you don't? I'm guessing I was tied with a lot of ppl and got discarded randomly FeelsBadMan. Prob gonna finish my 1st class for fun anyway
Um, your class was disqualified for not meeting the first challenge. The hero character representing your class needed to be an original character. Yours, Jah'rakal was an existing warcraft character.
@nurgling13 I think it's fine as a 2/2. The effect isn't worth much and Enchanted Raven wouldn't even see play if people didn't try beast druid so the cannot be frozen is fine.
I will say however that I think Worgen Assassin is a bit too strong. Consider that when you scale down an effect it becomes a lot better. Fire Elemental loses 2 stats for the 3 damage but if you scale that down to a say '2 mana 2/1 battlecry: Deal 3 damage' then the effect suddenly becomes insane. I think your card isn't too bad but it's definitely on the line between really strong and overpowered considering it's a 5 drop that's battlecry alone will kill a fair portion of full health 4 drops.

The problem with your Alpine Wolf from my perspective is that it trades with 3/2 2-drops, like a 2/1; but it also survives a ping. The only card that has done this before is Enchanted Raven and I think it is balanced because of the class it is in and because it came out when the game was more mature and the average power of the cards available increased. In my opinion, it is ok as a 2/1, and a tad bit too powerful as a 2/2. Enchanted Raven is an oddity, not a standard.

I think the first one is fine, can't be frozen is probably as good as the beast tag, the main problem is that this has both. As long as your class doesn't have beast interaction and the beast tag is only for the flavour I'd say it's not too relevant.
I also feel that the 2/2 stat line fits the wolf idea better than 1/3. I'd keep your first idea.
At first I thought the same as you, but upon further reflection, I realized *both* the Beast tag and the effect seem like integral aspects of the card's flavor. Though I think it could be left the way it is, I'd advise nurgling to drop the Freeze immunity instead of the tag, 'cus I feel like it staying a wolf matters more in this situation. Alternatively, he could just turn it into a Worgen and drop the tag. I also agree with Haret on the statline; 2/2 seems more fitting and better without buffs.

So do we show off 3 basic cards, one Pokemon-theme card and 1 legendary for a total of 5 during this round?

Evenlock and Mill Rogue in Wild HS,
Azami Control in EDH
