I know a lot of people are disappointed in Hunter's current state after MSG. I feel like they should have known that Goons weren't going to be able to hold a candle to the other clans. In any case, I feel like the Hunter Legend should have been something like this:
Instead, Hunter has Knuckles. Imo, my creation would have been a much more efficient way to control the board. It's not a very good card without a buff, but that's the Goons' bread and butter! Without a buff, it's similar to Twilight Flamecaller. But with a buff, this guy can get to be pretty nuts, especially with Don's buff. Even if this guy clears the whole board for 3 mana, I feel like it's not OP because it requires setup and additional cards to be actually effective.
What do you guys think? Any and all feedback welcome, as long as it's constructive.
Btw, I am NOT a Hunter player, but I was thinking about how they stand in the meta right now (suck), and how much they needed a board control card, but definitely NOT something as slow and inefficient as Knuckles.
edit: I also really like the design of Dispatch Kodo, and I feel like they could have done a lot more with that "mechanic".
Sergeant Sally is vulnerable to silence and needs to die to trigger, which gives your opponent the opportunity to trade into it and then play more minions after the AoE effect. This card, on the other hand, proactively clears the board and leaves you with a sturdy minion to contest follow-up plays. Overall, I like it.
I guess you could say that, except mine has a Battlecry. That's VASTLY different for a number of reasons. 1) can be coupled with Brann, 2) can be "triggered" on the spot, 3) will NOT benefit from being buffed after played in regard to the ability (and as such cannot take advantage of Dire Wolf Alpha, Defender of Argus and the like). I could go on, but you get the point.
I feel like Sally might actually see play if she had Battlecry instead of Deathrattle. Waiting for a minion to die for that effect is just too slow (and allows your opponent to react/play around); you need that ability on the spot for it to be effective.

I'm glad someone recognizes that this isn't the same as Sally...
And thanks for the nod. :)

power level is ok . But ok is not good enough for constructed . Hunter is in such a poor spot it needs broken tools to make it viable (like COW before nerf kind of stuff - still disappointed that Blizzard listened to whiners and nerfed a healthy card (Yes - a broken card can be healthy if it makes unplayable class playable again ) ) .

Very good point, I definitely agree. They will need borderline broken cards to become competitive again.
I wanted to give something like this though because I know a lot of people want Control Hunter to be a thing, and honestly I kinda would like to see it happen. Even as much as I hate playing against Hunters, it would be nice to see something other than face from them.

Yeah, that's why it's better. With few exceptions (and I definitely wouldn't say this is one of them), Battlecry > Deathrattle, for the reasons you yourself mentioned.
I like the concept of the effect, but my issue is just that, well, it's already been done. I prefer Legendary cards be more unique effects. If you want something better for Hunter, I think you can do something more original and exciting than this, rather than just a better version of an existing minion and at the same cost no less.

Fair enough. Maybe I should play Hunter more before designing cards for them lol.

So it is just a better Sergeant Sally like i said. You're not disproving what i just said at all. There's no reasonable negative when compared to Sally. "I guess you could say that" indeed, because that's exactly what it is. Battlecry > Deathrattle.

I wasn't trying to disprove what you said, why did you get that impression? "I guess you could say that" means I'm trying to disprove you? I never said your observation was incorrect, but I also don't really understand your point.
I don't understand what's so bad about a better Sally, but since you're so insecure I'll just let it go.

I would actually like to argue that this isn't strictly better than Sergeant Sally, since the only reasonable ways to buff the minion from your hand as a Hunter would be Shaky Zipgunner, Don Han'Cho, whereas Sergeant Sally can also be buffed from the board.
Sergeant Sally is also better in a deck built around Feign Death.
It isn't the same as sally, it is better than sally. If you really want an OP sally, just play sally you can buff her in hand and put up with the slowness of deathrattle instead of an OP aggro-destroying abomination of OPness. Unless you nerf the card to a 1-1 like sally it doesn't fit at 3 cost (and only then getting the battlecry (as a better version of sally would) would only be 'fair' given that it is a hunter only card.
Patches would be worthless if there was a AOE 1 dmg battlecry sally that anyone could play. It would also be quite unfair to paladin which is getting a ton of cards that invalidate its otherwise good hero power.

Actually you are wrong its not a better sally, sure it could get the buff from direwolf alpha BUT with the setup done before. This version cant get buffed by power overwhelming or blessing of might to gain advantage of it.

Yeah, you're right. Those are pretty much staples in Hunter decks.

No, but rambling about the difference of battlecry and deathrattle does make me think you are trying to disprove me. Also the statement about Argus and Dire Wolf. And there's a lot wrong with a better Sally, especially when you're suggesting it for the same expansion where Sally was.
