I think Lucifron does it because it's a boss card. They frequently have card text that's kinda wacky, poorly descriptive, and that I don't think we should use as a metric for what makes a good card for collection purposes.
I think the complexity metric is better. I remember someone came up with an Archimonde card one time that cast Bane of Doom on all other minions when it died. That's a perfect example of where that syntax works. Bane of Doom is also pretty complicated like Corruption, so it does warrant that treatment. My card was a stretch, because it would be easy to write out the effect of Power Word: Shield.
I do see some situations where the "cast X" text can work, particularly with the aforementioned Lucifron. Describing its effect would be a mess without simply saying "cast X" which in turn makes the effect cleaner and simpler to read.
For simpler effects that mimic cards (Darkshire Alchemist → Flash Heal for example), I think sticking with mimicking the text works though. It's very niche but there are those situations where typing "cast X" allows you to save space and make your effect cleaner.

Okay, now this card is awesome. It takes a Hearthstone meme and turns it into a really cool and actually well balanced card instead of making an intentionally overpowered mess. I also love the South Park reference.

Would it be against the rules to give a card "discover a Priest basic card" or "add a random Priest basic card to your hand"? Or should my card say add a 'fireball' to you hand?

When I die, I want to go peacefully and in my sleep like my Grandpa. Not yelling and screaming like the passengers in his car.
