Clarification : « Always in your first hand » means it is always offered at the mulligan phase. You can mulligan it away, however, and it will behave like any other card after that.
You choose from Common ( Free are lumped with those ), Rare, Epic, and Legendary, and instantly draw a random card of that rarity from your deck. If there are none, the brew choice won't appear ( This means that if in fatigue, this card won't make you draw anything as it will offer no choice ).

A 4-mana 1/2 with Stealth; Discover a Druid, Rogue or Shaman Card at the beginning of your turn
WHY THIS CARD?
Noticed that the discover card of MSG for jade lotus is very high? It's because the combination is crazy. As a druid you get the chance of discovering a Doomhammer and other efficient spells of other two classes; or Rogue with Innervate.
The 2 health makes it require powerful AoEs to be dealt with
Another way to word this would be "Double their card text" but I thought this would be less confusing. Also, if it's still confusing to anyone this card doubles the effects of all your cards, so Ragnaros the Firelord would deal 8 damage to a random enemy twice, and Gadgetzan Auctioneer would draw you two cards when you cast a spell etc. Think of it as having two copies of one minion merged into one body.
Flavor: Now that the Kabal suggested an increase to 31% of GDP on portal upkeep, we can now stabilize them...kinda.
The flavor and card are obviously based on Unstable Portal but giving it to other classes in a refreshing way. The idea is that since they have some kind of arcane background, the Kabal can control these portals better than ever. This focuses on the factions "Discover a class card" mechanic while also giving it some stability (no pun intended).
Balancing:
However, this was originally built to reduce the costs by (3) - like it unstable cousin- which as some pointed would make it way too OP, specially for mage and warlock which are combo reliant classes. Also, as @thebangzats mentioned, we can't undervalue Discover, hence making this a very balanced card. Compare it for example with I Know A Guy and Journey Below, both are 1-mana cost Discover a Card; this is a 2-mana Discover, but then discount it by (1), so ultimately a net cost of 1 mana.
Preist, Warlock and Mage have ways they can trigger this card, even with their Hero Powers. It is a bit slow, as it would cost 2 Mana to trigger this minion's ability with a Hero Power, but it can be triggered with other things that heal/damage your own hero, such as Flash Heal, Flame Imp and Fireball. It's up to the user to decide whether they would want to waste spells and a hero's health to buff this card.
I would image that this card would be used aggressively, as there isn't much other uses for this but as a strong minion that your opponent will want to remove.
If the Kabal's classes will play with a lot of spells, the Knowledge's erudite can be a very interested card. He is like the Grimy Gadgeteer, but for spells. It can be a good card, having in the hand the Holy Nova, the Arcane Blast, or the Shadowflame.
It's not an aggresive card, and he can get into this type of decks. He has not-bad stats for a 5-cost card, and it's not difficult to him to survive more than one turn, so he can greatly improve your spells.
Furthermore, it's not necessary to play the Knowledge's erudite the same turn as the spell, because if he dies, the spell will still have the +1 damage.
Flavor: The jade lotus agents are trained in the ancient art of shadowboxing before becoming a shadow guard..
ok, at fisrt this card looks terrible, 6/2/5 taunt is bordline unplayable, 6 mana is something you need to think before wasting. But thats where this card biggest advantage comes, you dont need to pay any mana for it.
Flavor wise those guys are basically ninja bodyguards, they wait in the shadows, observing the one they are protecting, and when danger appears, they jump into action.
This card gives all the lotus classes a chance to play a control esque deck, allowing you to not play any minion on the first turns, 2/5 taunt is something quite problematic to deal on the first turns, even more when he can just show in middle of the enemy turn, after probably his biggest damage was spent before this guy even enter on the field.
For class specifics, he allows evolve shaman to have a 6 costed minion on turn 1/2, giving evolve and master of evolution a good target for a 7 mana minion.
Miracle rogue don't need to take so many hits on the early game, as this guy can just jump fron their hands into the fray while the rogue play their decks normally.
Token druid gets a type of "failsafe" against aoe removal, as the moment all of their tokens are lost, the first damage they take this guy will just protect them before the next token batch enters the field.
Balance
Initially this guy was 6/3/5, making him "less bad" to play for 6 mana on a emergency situation, yet a 3/5 that can be dropped on turn 1/2 (that can even be TWO 3/5 if you have both on your hand) would basically be a insta win if happen, so i dropped his attack to 2. as a taunt minion, 2/5 means he can take some hits and still put up a fight agaisnt many of the early threats, but can't kill all minions on those turns.

What would be the leader of a ninja gang without some backup? What you do with them is up to you. Trade them in for that great deathrattle effect and board control? Sure. Push for some extra face damage while activating a nice ability? Just ask his BFFs Shaku, the Collector and Finja, the Flying Star for some extra mayhem.

So here's my submission:
"One side's good with weapons, the other's a criminal mastermind. Too bad they've spent their entire lives stealing candy from baby goblins."
And the token:
Summon: "Well looky who we got here... / Can we smash him, boss?"
Attack: "Attack! / SMASH!!!"
Death: "Busted..."

An interesting way to make a Kabal deck with sinergy.
