This Week's Finalists

Restrictions:

Your card's effect must change depending on the Health total of one or both Heroes. Mortal Strike, Battle Rage, Molten Giant, Revenge, and Drakonid Crusher are excellent examples of what we're looking for.

We have whittled down ~200 valid entries to just 20 of the community's favorites.

A bit disappointed, none of these cards really blow me away, and most of these effects are pretty flashy and in this case, not in a cool way. As such Envious Blade immediately gets my approval. Voted for 2 others that I won't disclose, but overall... meh week?

Liked the idea behind Qiraji Devotee but then looked at the stats. So if I run this in a deck without C'thun I just get a 4 mana 5/8?!

I'm glad I got in, I wouldn't be sure what to vote for otherwise. My favourites are probably Yu'lon, Brightwing and Earthcaller.

I like the flavour of Turncoat, but doesn't board advantage more often than not lead to Health advantage? You gain tempo AND you get to keep the minion.

And why is Qiraji Devotee so damn strong? I'd play it in non C'thun decks just for the pile of stats. Also, in those decks with C'thun, you're leaving the most important part of C'thun (his battlecry) untouched, so what's a disadvantage there?

I wasn't a fan of the theme this week, since it brought out a lot of 'If your health is less than X' triggers, which I think are kinda boring, and I don't think anyone did anything interesting with it. I voted for Earthcaller, since I think that is the best card here. It uses Hero's health to do something very useful for a Shaman deck. It's a good card, and plays well into the week's theme.

In my opinion, Erader Diabolist is the best here. I wished there were more cards that used the Health creatively with multiples and the like, unlike simply whether it is less than or greater than some number. This card sticks out to me as a unique creatively designed submission.

I think C'Thun stats are universal for the player. Whatever stats are depicted on the border of the battlefield, those are the stats of C'Thun, no matter how many C'Thuns you have played.

Surprised my card is on the finals. I didnt think it was that good.

Yulon, Treasure Hunting and Earth caller are the most mechanically interesting but this week has been kind of a lackluster week compared to others. Next week's topic better be good.

I voted for Turncoat because he could be nice in control decks to trade into early aggro.

Turncoat isn't very creative, though. It's been done many times not only here on these forums, but also many times in other card games. I think Earthcaller is much more deserving of a vote.

No. It exchanges with a nonexistent C'thun so you die with 0 health. Not sure that's how the UI actually works, but that's what I intended.

Why hasn't a single card from Page1 got to final? I thought the final is made via a page per page system or something like that?

A cards score is equal to the number of votes it gets divided by the average number of votes on that page. It used to be the case that the top card from each page was guaranteed to get in, but the mods stopped doing that this season. So, if no card on a page has a high enough score, then none of them get in the finals.

Curious. I would have down-voted my own entry if I knew that (I know I can't, but still). Had really high hopes for Desperate Prayer.
