Hello everybody! This topic is for discussion of our "Short and Sweet" competition. To make sure that everything runs smoothly, we need to reserve the Submission Topic for submissions only. Everything else goes here. What is everything else, you might ask?
Rules or Process. Do you have a question about the competition's process? Do you need clarification about one of the entry requirements? Are you not sure whether your entry adhered to the rules? Ask here!
Feedback or Ideas. Do you have some ideas you'd like to run by others before settling on one? Do you need help balancing or wording your entry? Do you need help finding art that will fit your card? Or do you just want feedback from the community on your entry? You're in the right place! Remember, although you are allowed to make minor tweaks to your entry after you've submitted it, you're only allowed one submission per week, so make sure that you've settled on your card for sure beforehand.
Discussion! Do you have thoughts on other people's entries? Are there directions you don't like that you're seeing too many people take? Or directions you'd like to see more people take? Would you like to help others and contribute to a greater community understanding of Hearthstone card design and balance? This is where you want to be!
All of that said, please refrain from the following:
Posting TONS of Ideas. Discussion topics become an absolute mess if everybody is posting a dozen different ideas. Please post not more than 3 distinct ideas at a time. Any more than that and we'll have to delete your post.
Advertising Your Entry. Please don't pop in here just to advertise your entry only to never be heard from again. This includes only asking short, generic, or insincere questions like "Thoughts?" or "Do you think this is interesting?". Yes, getting feedback on your entry is one of the purposes of this topic, but we're not just here for other people to help you. We're here for you all to help each other. 12 hours after this competition begins, there should be plenty of other posts here for you to give specific feedback or for you to comment on a trend. If you post your entry for feedback after this time and do not also offer some form of substantial commentary, critique, or praise of others' work, you may find your post deleted.
Plagiarism. Many people post their ideas here before finalizing them in the submission topic. Directly plagiarizing those ideas to post in the submission topic yourself is absolutely not acceptable.
So, without further ado, have fun and get creating!
I came up with the idea for this card awhile ago, of course it's pretty simple.
Is it clear enough that this wouldn't turn a minion into a random demon? The idea is that it would give them the 'Demon' tag; I think I might need to work on the wording. I think 0 mana should be fine for the effect, but if anyone disagrees let me know.
Also, if anyone has a suggestion for a better name for the card itself, I'm open for it.
Edit: ...and someone else has the same thing on the front page already. Never mind then, I guess lol.
Unsure which card to go with. Feedback appreciated.

Thanks in advance! Also really like this competition theme since I'm not usually a fan of complex cards, they just don't fit HS imo. Glad to see a competition that forces you to be more creative!:)
Hmm...I have an idea, but it was for my Death Knight set that I'm building. Not quite sure what class it fits best...and I'm reluctant to start posting ideas for fear or blocking someone else's. Limiting the number of words does make this contest interesting!
Those are some cards that would qualify which i found in m collection. The big concern is that they're just too similar to other existing cards (except Envenom maybe, and i guess that's why it is my favorite out of those).
Crusader Strike is a weaker Blade Flurry without drawback. Adrenaline Rush is an instant Emperor Thaurissan for one turn only, which might be unique enough. The question would be balance...
And Envenom, well it's unique, the question would be, what happens if you have x amount of Spell Damage? Does it deal "1+Spell Damage for each card played" or "1 for each card played+Spell Damage"? Going from the card text I'd say probably the first version and then the question is how would you possibly balance that?
Crusader Strike should probably cost 1, especially as a Paladin card, because Paladins can't really buff their weapons out of control like Rogues, and it's limited to one target. I like the idea of Adrenaline Rush but you'd have to be able to play at least 2 cards to make up for the mana cost. I think Envenom is the best with Crusader Strike being a close second. I don't think Envenom would have a problem with Spell Damage honestly because to get the most value out of it it'd take a lot of setting up, but I could see it being a problem in Malygos decks where you deal 6 damage for each card played.
I'll start this off guys, what do you think of this submission? Save the trees, man. Peace and love brooo
I think this is actually pretty balanced. I was thinking it might need to cost more seeing as you can get 7 2/2's for 2 mana, but the requirement is probably enough, especially with Mirror of Doom being a thing. Fits nicely with Druid and their whole mana shenanigans. And I would suggest cropping the art a little – might have a bit too much showing ;)

Envenom is the best IMO. Regarding the Spell Damage, Shield Slam does +1 damage, although the card says "deal 1 damage for each Armor you have".

Hm...I see qour point but i thought more about a turn 10: Kobold Geomancer x2 Bloodmage Thalnos Envenom x2 for a total of 21 damage. Maybe mix in one or two Preparations and an Eviscerate and you have your OTK without Malygos even being required.
Yeah that could be problematic too. If it works like Shield Slam though (as another user mentioned) it should be fine, might just want to mention that in the submission post just in case others are confused about it.

I really like all of the above, but like you said, Envenom really has some oomph to it. As for the Spell Damage inquiry, I'd say it's just X amount of cards + Spell Damage. What's with the wording that made you assume it's the first option? Either way, pretty cool card.
Oh, and the wording "Deal 1 damage for each card played this turn" should suffice, right? Don't see the point of adding "earlier" to it, but maybe I'm missing something. :)
Maybe "Deal 1 damage for every other card played this turn" or keep the current wording just so it's clear that it doesn't get a bonus in damage from itself?

Actually, the current wording is perfectly correct; I just noticed it's the exact same thing as Edwin VanCleef. Should it be a Combo card though? D:
It essentially is a combo card just without the combo keyword so it could really be fine either way. I don't think it has to be a combo card though.
What do you guys think of my submission? I've tried to make a mill/combo cheap spell. Should I maybe raise the mana effect from (1) to (2)?
Probably okay at 0 mana. Not to nitpick or anything but maybe try to find some better art? It just doesn't seem "Hearthstone-ey" enough, for lack of a better word lol I like the concept though!:)
Ok, here's the idea I'm going with this week. It's identical to a card I made for my Death Knight set!
Druid version of Resurrect, but with a few important differences. First, it is slower than Resurrect, but gives a choice. Both of those fit heavily with the Druid theme of big and flexible minions. Second, it allows the use of Battlecry and Choose One effects, and allows you to potentially pick an enemy minion. Third, there currently is no Worgen card for Druids. This will fix that! And with only 7 words and no numbers, it fits perfectly with the theme. My only concern is the cost. What do you think?
I'm working on two ideas right now, here is first.
I like this one! Good 2 dmg 1 mana spell, but also combos well with Acolyte of Pain, Armorsmith, Berserker, Grim Patron, and more! I'm curious about your second idea.

I went with same spell but removed minion aspect so its on par with Arcane Shot and Holy Smite. The other idea was Intervene from WoW, a 0 mana spell that states "Your hero has Taunt until your next turn." Ultimately I am goig to go with Rend anyway.

I would have kept the minion only requirement, if only because there are Spell Damage possibilities with it. Highly unlikely in Warrior, of course, but something to consider.

Are you talking about Inner Demons? I think it's very different from your card, right?
EDIT: Whoops, you mean Metamorphosis. I think your card is worded much better though.

I like Demonic Posession better. Not that i don't like the Vigil

Currently working on the Tinker! K&C and WW / JUG and KotFT / Classic / Basic / Introduction
My Previous Classes: Apothecary (unfinished) / Chronomancer / Death Knight (old)
My Previous Expansions: Hallow's End
Wasn't there a competition with the exact same theme a while back? I swear it had even the same examples.
Siras Terra, the Geomancer
Both are great, but I kinda like Demonic Possession better. It's a little more flavorful, and it also works well with Dreadsteed.
