Welcome, welcome, one and all, to my second ever expansion! This time around, we have many lovely new cards for you, and the introduction of a brand new class: the Elementals!
He couldn't make the cut for the Druid class cards because he's too lazy.
"Creak creak groooan" - Treespeak for "OH SWEET POTATOES I'M ON FIRE!"
Why can't I hold all these Giants?!
Go ahead. Burn a tree down. He DARES you.
Hey bro, I heard you like Elementals.
Some think that Quilen look like majestic lions. Others think they look like giant pugs.
In addition, we have a number of new mechanics for several classes, including one game-wide mechanic called Toughness!
To elaborate, let's say a 2/2 minion - say, a Scourge Grunt...
were to attack another 2/2 with toughness - such as a pebble spirit...
The pebble spirit would deal 2 damage to the grunt, but 1 of the grunt's 2 points of damage would be negated, thanks to the toughness. As a result, the grunt goes down, while the pebble stays standing. And yes, Toughness can completely negate damage - so if a webspinner were to attack a pebble spirit, it wouldn't leave a scratch.
Oh, and there's much more than just elementals to this expansion, folks! Look out for the rest of the cards in my subsequent posts to the thread - but I will leave you with one small sample of the insanity to come...
He REALLY wants you to break yourself upon his body.
Before you get too far into this, it would be a good idea to consider what makes the Elemental tribe worthy of being a new tribe. What many people do is they add useless tribes, that either have no synergies or redundant synergies. Dragons are really interesting because of their unique "holding" mechanic, which reflects how contrary to previous tribes like Murlocs or Mechs that flood the board with them the Dragon tribe is about keeping them in your hand until lategame.
...M8, I just do this because it makes me happy. I just make what tickles my fancy.
Of course, that's why most people design cards. I was giving you some feedback so you could improve your them. I assumed you wanted feedback, and that's why you were posting on the forums... unless you don't want feedback, then you should have said something...
So! Who better to start off the Elemental expansion with, than with the Shaman class!
Shamans have recieved a new mechanic in this expansion: Balance Crystals.
Balance Crystals appear as white overload crystals, which appear under your mana crystals and stay there until activated. If you cast Feral Spirit with 2 balance crystals, the overload of the Feral Spirit will be negated completely. If you cast Lightning Storm with 1 balance crystal, you will only be overloaded for 1. If you gain balance crystals while you have locked or to-be-locked overload crystals, the balance crystals will cancel them out - first canceling the to-be-locked crystals, then canceling the locked crystals.
And now, on to the cards! Emphasis is on Toughness and - what else? - Elementals!
Common:
Shields, going up!
He's distantly related to the stone that killed Goliath.
Don't take off the bracers on your elemental, or else this happens.
Jaraxxus doesn't know what he's talking about.
Rare:
Water purifiers?! We don't need no stinkin' water purifiers!
with token:
Aunty Em! It's a twister! ...shaped like a person!
Highly favored on battlefields, these totems would historically increase the morale and strength of troops.
Rare:
"Heard you wuz pickin' on Pebble Elemental."
Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out...
Legendary:
Call her fat, and she'll grind your bones to dust.
Animation: A stone spike erupts from the board, and shatters to reveal Therazane.
Entry: "The earth will strengthen and protect us!"
Attack: "I am ENRAGED!"
And now, Mage Cards! Emphasis on Spell Damage.
Made of concentrated raw magic, Arcane Elementals are incredibly powerful.
with tokens:
Warriors break rocks. Mages move them.
Because that Fireball needed that little extra punch.
Magic makes a great shield.
Rare:
with token:
We will, we will,ROCK you!
Ping! Ping! Ping! Ping!
"Now all you gotta do is say Abracadabra and tap your heels three times fast..."
Epics:
i
Definitely not a ripoff of something else. Nope. No siree.
"Splish-splash I was taking a bath" has never sounded so terrifying.
Legendary:
You never really think about the "blood" part of "blood elf" until you meet one like Kael'thas.
Animation: three colored orbs swirl around the screen, and all friendly minion turn into Summoning Stones as the orbs converge to form Kael'thas.
Entry: "Welcome to the future. It's a pity you're too late to stop it!"
While this may appear to just be a worse "draw a card" - and to an extent, it is - the limited nature of this mechanic allows the minions with it to have notably better stats than if they had just "draw a card".
And now, the cards - emphasis on Beasts and Dragons.
Common:
He just wants a hug.
8 seconds of pain, and you'll have a friend for life!
Riding a Dragon ranked #4 on "top 10 coolest things to do in WOW".
Darnit, Huffer, you're blocking my scope!
Rare:
"Okay, will whoever's shooting me PLEASE knock it off?!"
Being snakes with wings, Wind Serpents find lots of work on the covers of heavy metal albums.
It's actually pretty easy to spot a 5-ton flying lizard.
Epic:
Little known fact: Chromaggus eats twice as much as normal dragons his size.
Unfortunately, we couldn't afford the poisonous snakes. Those guys are pricey!
Legendary:
Okay, seriously, Sylvanas, how many long-lost sisters do you have?!
Entry Animation: a target appears on the board. An arrow hits the bulls-eye, then dissapears to form Vereesa.
Opener: "Targets are in sight."
Attack: "Firing."
Death: "Mission failed...."
Now for the Priest cards! Emphasis on restoring health and shadow power.
Common:
They're actually just really fancy instruction manuals.
"I'm meeeeeeelting!"
Do you think Priests ever need to wear goggles to protect their eyes from the Light?
Darn tanks, always whining for heals... fine! here!
Rare:
No more kid gloves.
Some will do anything for power. Others just discard cards.
Wow... your hand is TERRIBLE.
Epic:
Gnomes actually rigged this construct to use the Light as a power source. They call it "Solar Power". It probably won't catch on.
Will you PLEASE stop flicking the Light on and off?!
Legend (warning: kinda crazy):
When you play this card, you get to Discover from a random three of the following five blessings:
The leader of the Aldor in Shattrath, Ishanah is an incredibly powerful Priest.
Animation: Three glowing rectangles appear on screen, and flash white, before showing the three Discovered cards.
Wow, You did predict somthing like this would happen. Really interesting to see Ozruk.

The world won't end with a bang or a whimper. It'll and with the death screams of a thousand demons and a defiant, carefree, savage, wolven howl. ~Grubbs
