A pretty simple yet mana efficient card that encourages a new (and crazy) archetype while being notably valuable in arena. Like with Sense Demons, if you have no beasts in your deck, you will draw 3 regular Chicken minions instead.
Seeing that Mad Scientist is going away (in Standard anyway) I thought this card, unlike Captain's Parrot which it is clearly modeled after, would be a useful 2-drop to take its place. Gives good card draw (you're undoubtedly going to be running spells in a Mage deck), as well as works in the late game to get that special something-something that you KNOW is just sitting at the bottom of your deck right now!
What do Mages need more of, Yes thats right: Secrets.
It's very interesting in the way it forces your opponent to play spells in a different order to how they normally would do.
I assume if they play a spell which doesn't correspond to the cost of a beast (currently thats only 0,8 and 10 mana) it would not activate, like how Avenge doesn't activate if there isn't a minion on the board.
Arcane Echo is a card meant for two things: card draw denial and spell draw (possibly to use for activating Archmage Antonidas). Arcane Madness will give your opponent a useless card (unless they are running a beast deck) and forces them to give you another Arcane Echo while also using up two mana.
If your turn ends with 4 unspent mana, Arcane Explosion casts twice. If it ends with 3 unspent mana, it casts once. With 1 unspent mana, nothing happens.
Flavor Text:Yes, it's also legal in Standard (NOTE: Change this flavor text in 22 months).
This spell can be used on either a friendly or enemy minion. I've gone through all the of the beasts in the game, and not counting Battlecries or Beast-synergy effects, the average value of a Beast is 3.4 mana (3.2 in Standard). So, if you use this on a weak friendly minion, you're likely to get 2-3 extra mana worth of value out of it, with a chance to get something awesome like King Krush. You can also use it on a powerful enemy minion, with the chance that you might turn it into something even more powerful.
Flavour Text: In its free time, it enjoys belly rubs and sharpening its' teeth with treants around it.
This was one of the ideas that I had while custom-crafting cards that had to do with spell synergies. Anti-aggro and Tempo-Gainer if you can cast spells. It also forces your opponent to use minions to clear it if they don't want to suffer a backlash.
While the Spirit Beasts can only be tamed by Hunters in WoW, I do like the idea that they can match up with the various classes, and this being a magical spirit beast, it fits with Mages! :3
One last thing - it sure loves eating Treants generated from a certain Druid combo. Nom nom.
Note that the random enemy minion can be a minion that has already transformed into a sheep. This is to offset the fact that you get the Polymorph effect for free. He also does not put a spell in hand like Archmage Antonidas to prevent chaining targeted Polymorphs across the board.
This gives Mage a new "different" form of board control. Also a new animal that you can change things into, Ironbeak Owl. So this still gives your opponent some semblance of damage and you really wouldn't want to use this against a board full of 1/1's but could be really powerful versus those back heavy decks where you see a Ysera, Sylvanas Windrunner, and Ragnaros the Firelord all on board. This would be an interesting way to deal with them.

This card can help you salvage a spell to keep going. If you need more burn or removal just use this card to salvage it.
Edit: Thought I'd add my thoughts on this card.

Timber Wolf
Hard mage counter for the mirror.
Edit: made my minion ok for this competition.

"As housecarl I am sworn to your service. I will protect you and all you own, with my life." - Lydia of Whiterun
"After you summon Houndmaster, this is the guy who lets the dogs back IN."
Short, sweet, and to the point. TGT added some beast synergy to other classes, so why not give Mage a cool effect too?
Art here, to give proper credit.
See Arcane Explosion.

Magic-toothed Tiger
5 cost 4/3
Battlecry: Apply the effect of the last spell played.
The card basically copies that last spell played and uses it again. this works on the last spell you play or the last one your opponent plays.
Interactions with (ie. Battlecry) or by (ie. making an attack) that minion will reveal the secret.
