So ive came up with this thread more than once, but i think its always Fun to explore ideas and share games where cards that are underused should make the spot light. there are Cards ive been playing with lately that i think are very underrated and have one me games. These arent cards see play from time to time, im talking cards that have the reputation which is not very common.
2 cards i would love to spotlight are as followed
1, Sneeds old shredder - This Card IMO is very underused in the fact if it doesnt get Silenced, SOS has to be 2 for 1 on maybe even more. It cant be BGHed which is nice, and it has a high amount of health and its attack its at the sweet Spot of 5 which can kill pretty much anything in the meta which is 6 mana or lower.
2. KodoRider- I cannot tell you how much KodoRider has impressed me. The naysayers would say " but its basically a 8 mana Cards" which i would say, well yeah, but the point you are leaving out is that you play KodoRider in a Midranged or a Control deck. Ive been playing Kodo Rider has a 2-of in Shadowform Priest and its amazing, why? because It is a Deck where you use your heropower quite a bit. getting another 3/5 doesnt seem like a big deal at first, but if its left unchecked.....they get ANOTHER 3/5 and will keep getting 3/5s until you deal with the kodo rider; even then you are still left with the 3/5 you first made. There was one game where i was playing against a handlock and he Shadowflamed AND hellfired when i only had a kodorider with its Token because it was THAT threatening.
So let me know your thoughts and tell me some gems you guys have found :D
Sticking to the slow cards theme, i think Anub'arak deserves more love. With Reno around making a rogue deck that survives long enough is not that difficult, and Anub basically beats control warriors by himself! The main problem I have with him is priests stealing him, which is only a problem because of how powerful he is.
They are both good cards, but are too slow for today's meta. Same goes for Tomb Spider, Cenarius and many other cards which either cost too much or need a couple of turns to gain value. I'd say even Sylvanas is kinda slow.
Polymorph: Boar is just so good I'm wondering why I don't see it more often. The fact it that it can can be used both offensively and defensively is really nice too.
Cult Master is often times a huge draw engine in my Raptor Rogue but also in Zoolock it really shines. You only want to play one because it's extremely terrible in multiples but that one card can often help you fish for lethal or let you sac your board in exchange for cards in anticipation of a board wipe.
i am going to post a REALLY underrated card. Axe Flinger
now i know that i doesnt sound like a lot, but this card has saved me quite a few times, is a great turn 4, the opponent doesnt know how to respond to it, there are times were he just spends 1 or even 2 cards from his hand to kill it, and still gets damaged by it. if you can have it behind a taunt is a pain for the opponent, every 1 attack minion is a reverse leaper gnome for him.
i remenber one time playing againts a face deck, i was playing the new worgen otk deck but i have 1 of this instead of the armorsmith. the thing is that at some point, i dropped this guy behind a ghoul, and then procced to damage it with everything i had. i put the opponent a 2 life with the ghoul alive and he just could not attack me anymore.
you can combo with him if you dont have the worgen, if you charge double rage and +3 him, he is going to swing for 11 and deal other 4 in axe form, plus if you attack with death bite and break it, is going to be an extra 6.
I've had a lot of fun with Varian Wrynn lately. I'm too much of a scrub to actually know if that is a underused card at the moment... However, the card fits my Warrior deck and play-style, and it works as an final nail in the opponents coffin.
Speaking of battlecries, Nerub'ar Weblord could do really well in a deck without many battlecry cards in this meta.
I've been actually thinking that it might make sense in Priest because it is an easy Velens target and it's a pretty useful tool against aggro and control alike.
When GvG came out this card had no support because there weren't enough good beasts available to druid. TGT and LOE changed that a lot. It's a Fel Reaver without the downside, for just -1/-1 in stats. How is it not played?
Toshley looks underrated for mages. i dont play much mage though so maybe im wrong. just seems like ive NEVER seen it but it has some good value with Archmage Antonidas.
Rhonin is one of my favorites. From what I've read, everyone came to the conclusion that he's too slow, but in tempo Mage he's won me so many games against all different kinds of decks. I thought I'd regret crafting him when I had the extra dust but literally he is so useful. The Arcane Missiles can be used as extra burn, fuel for Flamewaker, AOE, or 3 Fireballs with Archmage Antonidas, and I was surprised by how often I won simply because of Rhonin.
Stranglethorn Tiger in midrange hunter for me. Smooths out the curve since usually it's just Loatheb at 5 and is really helpful once you've shifted from board to face since you get Houndmaster and Kill Command value without much threat of removal.
This card is being run in many RenoLock lists cause its a pretty good pull from Voidcaller and good in this heavy paladin meta - kills recruits and knocks of divine shields...
I love Flare for use in my Midrange Hunter deck. At worst it cycles a card for two mana, but it's incredibly satisfying to Flare a Secret Paladin or a Freeze Mage.

Hearthstone is a game of "copy and pasting"
I'm a fan of Sneed's and the Kodorider too.

I kinda became a fan of Dread Infernal lately.

Crush.
I've only seen it a few times, but I think its a great removal in warrior, and the condition is easy to pull off with Death's Bite.
Its fangs are in your flesh before its hiss leaves your ears.
Golden Heroes: Druid -> Rogue -> Shaman -> Hunter -> Warlock

I feel like Baron Geddon is underrated. It can be a life saver in a number of situations yet i hardly see it played.
Why the hell have I never seen Draenei Totemcarver? No totems board is poor, but even with a single totem, is crazy vaule!
I absolutely love to have 1x Dark Iron Skulker... nobody suspects this shady bugger to stab all opponents board to death!

Anub'ar Ambusher. A big body, coupled with a deathrattle that's actually quick beneficial in a battlecry heavy deck.

I wish Valeera had tentacles for arms
