Alright, first thing's first. Sorry about that awfully cliched thread name, I needed to get your attention somehow!
Now, on to business. I'm here to talk about, and ultimately defend Deathwing as a card. I don't know where your opinion stands on him, and I'm curious about what you think!
Now, I recently had a windfall of dust and I wanted a fun yet usable legendary. I have most of the standard legends, if not all, so I ultimately decided to make Deathwing for my Control Warrior as an anti-control tech card. I was awfully surprised when he worked like a charm! He's won me games against Warlocks, Paladins, Shamans, and more, and maybe I'm lucky, but he's never cost me a game yet.
Now, what do you think? Is discarding your hand too big of a drawback? Are his stats too easily removed? Well, yes. That's pretty obvious. A 12/12 is BGH-able, and draws literally any form of hard removal your opponent has. But when played with other huge threats in the lategame, when both players are out of removal and threats, he can be unstoppable.
So, I've lain down my case for the card that unexpectedly stole my heart. Now it's your turn! Do you like Deathwing, or hate him? Why?
It's not a bard card for what it does, and it has a surprise factor that will win games now and then. The conundrum is that in the kind of decks that benefit from it (relatively slow decks, let's be honest, and ones where you often end up with a small hand facing too many threats) you would most of the time be better of putting in a card to avoid ending up in the situation that would require it.
I like using DW to. He is a good card and if you have the skills to analyse your opponents hand and find the right time, then he will win way more games than he will ever loss you. As a lot of other great cards, it is not because that he is trash that he is not run, but because there are other cards that just wins more games than DW does.
And the discard of your hand is not that big a problem in control decks, as you usualy is pretty strong in topdeck wars, so if you already are ahead on board after DW (asuming he survives) then you can keep going pretty easily, and if you have a hand full of card draw in a control matchup, then you actually want to discard your hand!
Like most of the cards it depends on when you play him. Late game he is really good at clearing the board or being the killing blow but at other times he will clear the board and get rid of your hand which could have other good cards.
I tried him out in a ramp druid list the other day (because druids lack mass removal like lightbomb or brawl, plus 10 mana hurts less for druid) and he was great in control match ups (plus element of surprise) but was rather meh against everything else , and he would often get stuck in hand. So yea, strong when useful but not often enough useful

I'm surprised that over 90% of voters agreed with me, however I'll admit that may be due to poor wording of the answer choices ('useful in any way' v. 'not useful at all').
I strongly agree with HagbartFrandsen and Zergo66, and believe Deathwing shines in incredibly greedy decks where he isn't the only big threat.
I love DW personally. Nothing more satisfying than letting your opponent over commit the board and then dropping this bad boy. Cleared board, opponent has only a card or two (if any) in his hand and you got a nice 12/12 on the board. Chances are he's at least taking 12 to the face. Playing percentage chance at that point. Just have to know when/how to play him properly. Can really back your opponent into a corner.

Tl;dr: I like Deathwing, do you?

I am of the firm opinion that every deck needs a Last Resort.

Deathwing is a good card when played in the right deck
Doesnt matter he is useful or not, Deathwing is too cool when playing.
