EnTomb is a card that i think will be absurd in Control and midranged Match ups; hell even against Aggro Entomb their Big Threat and you basically outright win. The control Priests that run Entomb can just build a heavy Antiaggro deck and have 1 or 2 big threats like Ysera or something Else. This card makes me very Scared to play against priest as I play CW alot. Just Imagine you go... Play Sylvanis on turn 6 and they go Entomb it. Thats such a backbreaker, The card is basically a 3 for 1 because if you entomb something with a a battlecry you get to use the battlecry when you draw the card. Its gonna be so scary to play against priest when Entomb comes out.
cabal shadow priest light bomb Sylvanas and now Entomb are all cards that is 6 mana cards and you cant have em all becase the deck becomes wayyy to heavy and clunky so what to drop thats the issue for priest now
Entomb is basically a cheaper Mind Control with the upside of being able to do something possibly on the same turn, while stealing your opponent's card. It's not meant to replace Shadow Word: Death so its cost shouldn't even be an issue; it's supposed to replace Mind Control for people who find the card too slow. It's meant to help Priest manage the board. Tirion and Ysera are very problematic and auto-win cards against Priest, if they can't silence or steal them away; and this effectively helps deal with these problems with the downside of fattening your deck.
Assassinate and Recycle aren't good so neither is entomb...
Yup I can't see Entomb making the cut. It'll see play for a few weeks and just die off. Too slow.
First of all Rouge and Druid aren't control classes. Secondly this is strictly better than Recycle and a lot better than assassinate. Third, Priest wants to play the slow game and is very capable of making it get there.
In a typical aggro match it won't be that great but Priest still has tons of ways to handle aggro no problem.
Where it'll shine is in the control/midrange match as OP stated. Priest was already pretty good against CW with double death and lightbomb, now it can straight up steal one of its threats. I also like the sound of stealing any of Druid's goodies (like a claw, which priest otherwise struggles to deal with). Stealing highmanes from midrange hunters is pretty nasty too. Maybe a sneed's if you ever get some weird non-meta deck.
tl;dr it's a fantastic card for priest, to call this a slow or bad card is showing ignorance of card game fundamentals

Thank you, These noobs just dont understand the power of what Entomb has. For the idiots who Claim its Too slow at SIX mana are just lost and dont know whats going on. You just build your deck to outlast until turn 6 with deathlords Holy Nova and Pyro and just win at that point.
Entomb is a highly playable card imho, maybe a must-have. (NB: By "Priest" here I mean a classical priest playing Auchenai Soulpriest and stuff.)
I'm going to say some things people won't accept, just don't take this too personal, please. I know that some people may think that I'm a poor player, that I can not see Priest's value and stuff. I hope them to be wrong.
So why is this card that good imho? Because, on one hand, if you want to play an anti-aggro priest, you have to make sacrifices on your late game. Because NO, having a 2 heal hero power doesn't prevent you from getting smashed by aggro! I don't know what agro decks you face but an agro with a good draw is still highly hard to counter, because he deals too much damages, and you can't heal each turn (and you maybe won't have your heals, simply!) because you have to counter the board's threats.
On the other hand, if you make sacrifices on your late game, you're doomed against other control decks. That's the curse that makes Priest not highly competitive because if they chose to play against a type of decks, they are not good enough to counter the other type (Agro or Control basically). Some people may disagree, they're perfectly right to do so. But that's the point of view I'm defending: as a simple matter of fact, if you want to beat control decks, you have to play at leastToughsteal, Ysera, etc. Cards that are dead cards against agro, and heavy to have in your hand.
This is why this card is highly valuable.
You can perfectly imagine a 1 to 7 cost cards Priest (Northshire Cleric => Dr. Boom) deck with a lot of solutions (Vol'jin, Lightbomb, Holy Nova and stuff) and thenEntomb as a potentialfinisher. That is to say that the very low mana-curve of the deck will be able to handle agro threats, but in the same time, when against control, you're gonna be able to (1) remove late game threats (without even triggering the deathrattle) and (2) offer yourself finishers.
Entomb is fine but cannot undo things like Battlecries. To answer Dr. Boom with it might be excellent, but if your opponent is able to get on the tempo and to smash yo even before having draw the entombed card, this is a little bit problematic.
3° it is very touchy to play (but it's what make priest so good): As Cabal Shadow Priest is, this new card is really hard to play. How and when to use it? Should we wait the big minions? Which one? Etc. Etc.
I keep 1 faceless manipulator in my dragon priest in order to do a similar thing (answer a big card from the opponent). Entomb is better in some situations but worse in others. Gonna try swapping Entomb in for the faceless.
Control Priest will play one copy, it is very likely. While it is bad against aggro, it still has it's uses against many of today's top decks.
Also the best comparison to this card is probably the Siphon Soul and it seems it is a clearly better version as it does not trigger the deathrattle and gives an extra card against fatigue.
Entomb is a highly playable card imho, maybe a must-have. (NB: By "Priest" here I mean a classical priest playing Auchenai Soulpriest and stuff.)
I can see x1 copy of this being played in any Priest archetype to be honest.
I will totally add one to my dragon Priest list as well: I run 2 Wyrmrest Agenst, 2 Twilight Guardians, 1 Deathlord, Chillmaw, 1 Holy Nova and 2 Lightbombs: unless I get a terrible starting hand and very bad draws thereafter I have 0 problems dealing with aggro. And I don't see why adding x1 Entomb is going to severely harm the integrity of my deck... all in all it would just be an almost dead card in my hand, but I doubt it's gonna decisively tilt the match in my opponent's favour when I face aggro.
I wrote something that meant: "I'm only going to deal with the classical priest". That was to say that my focus is on it, and not on dragon priest. Seems pretty obvious ahem. I've played Dragon priest so I could have talked a lil bit about that too but I'm not really sure yet of what to think about Dragon Priest+Entomb.
@ Szabozalan
I'm gonna play two copies of the card, I think. This is just too good because it changes your anti-agro deck in an anti-control one… It is not even comparable with Siphon Soul. In a deck with Siphon Soul you still need to have big minions in your deck. Here the card allows you not to playYsera and stuff, and to have an extremely flexible body.
Realistically, I'm not sure which cards Entomb is really going to be good against. It's a good answer to Sylvanas or Highmane, but not a great one, since it costs the same as the minion. It's mediocre against Dr. Boom or Ysera, since they've already done some damage. Same for Mysterious Champion, Alexstraza, Grommash, Thaurissan, basically every big minion anybody is playing right now.
I think it's fine as a one-of catch-all for various situations, but I don't see why it's inspiring such excitement and fear. The only situation I'm seeing where it's legitimately great is in the control vs. control matchup that goes to fatigue, where the extra card will make a difference. And since Reno has slowed down the game a little, and I think Bronzebeard will do the same, then sure, Entomb will be a good card for a while. But when the meta speeds up again, it's going to played as a zero-of.
It's certainly not a replacement for Mind Control. It doesn't gain you a card, and if you Entomb something big, it ends up costing you significantly more mana. They are totally different effects.
You guys are pretty good at giving me my fix for comedy. Most of you dont understand the value you are getting because most of the people in the playerbase are very jaded with the notion that "if its 5 or more mana it has to win me the game". Also its the Fact that for almost every set of cards that have come out after Nax, people tend to overlook cards. The 2 most common examples I can think are Shieldmaiden and Dr Boom. Shieldmaiden:"She could be a one-of. But Control Warrior has So many 6 drops that its gonna be hard to find a spot" Dr Boom: " its not that great, its 7 mana and its dies to BGH". Im gonna guess that once entomb comes out and people get destroyed by it people will bitch and complain.
The final thing. im gonna address the most common things ive seen from this Thread.
1. " it would terrible against Aggro" You Realize you are playing Priest right? there are so many tools in Priests that can make you survive before you get to turn 6. Plus, if you Entomb their Dr Doom or anything at their High end, you win.
2."6 mana is Way too" We know Blizzard doesnt make hard removal (which is what entomb is) cost low mana. Like i mentioned Eariler. You can build your deck is such a way that you can just Load your deck with heavy Anti Aggro tools (deathlord,Zombie Chow Etc Etc) and have The Entombs at the Ready for their big minions.
I think people are very caught up on things and are super jaded. I cant wait to play with this card and I think its gonna be great .The moment you Entomb anything above 6, its gonna feel amazing.
Not really sure why you think insulting players at rank 20 gives you credibility. It doesn't. While I tend to agree that Entomb isn't that great against aggro holding a card or two late game isn't going to be game changing. If you'd lose because you played Entomb then you are likely going to lose if you don't play it only faster. Sure there are arguments to be made that if Entomb wasn't in your deck you would have drawn a better card instead, but what may be better vs aggro isn't necessarily better vs control. And while putting the minion in your deck may not be that helpful vs aggro getting the minion off the board certainly is, so it isn't flat out bad against aggro.
Then you make an asinine statement about Assassinate being shit so Entomb must also be shit. Except the reason that Rogues don't play Assassinate is because it doesn't fit their game plan which is far more about tempo and burst than about control. Control Warriors would play it if they could. The main reason they don't play Crush is because they usually lack a damaged minion to reduce the cost of it.
As far as "f2p scrubs" wanting to be able to play cards they can't afford. Thoughtsteal is a crap shoot, while Entomb nets you the exact card you want. That's barely comparable. Thoughtsteal doesn't remove a threat, nor does it guarantee you the card you want to use.

Control Warrior don't run 6 mana removals
Entomb - because Priest needed more good removal/more ways to steal your cards.
Entomb is the midway beteern SWD and MC and i think it has a nice spot in some decks.

What's wrong with this card?
1° The mana-cost:
Entomb is a 6-mana card. We already play Sylvanas Windrunner, 1 or 2 Cabal Shadow Priest, 1 or 2Lightbomb for this cost…
2° The tempo:
Entomb is fine but cannot undo things like Battlecries. To answer Dr. Boom with it might be excellent, but if your opponent is able to get on the tempo and to smash yo even before having draw the entombed card, this is a little bit problematic.

Sure, ideally you would want to use it on something bigger, but anyone who plays this game knows that game states are almost never ideal.
