 You're right, there aren't any hats in Warcraft which give stats. That would be silly. 

To be honest, this is to slow to see play in any class except, maybe, Priest.

Yeah like Headcrack for Rogue, it returns to your hand but you are overpaying each time you play it.  However with lock n load, maybe.

The card is there to enable an Eydis Darkbane / Fiola Lightbane deck.

Might combo with Feign Death and a bunch of other Deathrattles.

Maybe this card is a good step towards control hunter.

Give an ooze a hat and BOOM! two hats. Frickin magic oozes.

hmmm, would have been better as a paladin or priest card due to buff cards being removed with the minion attached. This would have made buff decks significantly easier to play but hey, yay for hunter. >.<

On a sidde note I prefer this over giving hunters more face cards

Maybe an odd enabler for a different type of hunter using Eydis Darkbane, Fiola Lightbane, Echoing Ooze, Dragonkin Sorcerer, etc, but don't see how it could really work. 

Hobgoblin Hunter? Who knows.

Guarantee this will see play. Control hunter is closer to a thing now.

Think of this card as a hero power.  give a minion +1/+1 would be probably the strongest hero power in the game.  Definitely a strong arena card, be interesting to see how it works out in constructed, it would obviously have to be an entirely new archetype, but some of the pieces for that are already in place (Lock and Load, Feign Death, Emperor Thaurissan, etc.)

Why isn't this at least 5 mana?

It's triple the value of dread-steed and cost less.

Totally mill hunter is viable!

Combo (If u have enough mana or Emperor Thaurissan's multiple tick) with Baron Rivendare + Unleash the Hounds + Explorer's Hat ... and go mill yourself!
