I just recently started playing again after a 12 month stint in ReHab.
Cairne Bloodhoof was a very popular and common place legendary in most decklists.. now im not seeing much of it at all anywhere.. Im assuming it safe to DE but im wondering what you guys think... will it start to see play again in the near future??
If you feel like you don't need it and want other cards to build a deck akin to the current metagame, like Patron for example, then by all means.
However, if you still feel it is a strong card then play it. Cairne is a strong card, even if weak to silence it still may prove useful to you if you don't have any other options in decks like Control Warrior or Ramp Druid.
I would say keep him. He was the nr. 1 craft at one point, but that was before Loatheb, Sludge belcher, Shieldmaiden and emperor...
However, he still very good board presence, and is super sticky. If feign death hunter or reincarnate shaman become big, he could see a resurrection. Also, he can be worth trying out in various decks, and be a tavern brawl mvp.
Feel free to dust... his time since long gone, you just cant afford to play 4 5 creature on t6 that does nothing in that turn in this braindead face rush secretpallycancer meta. And i doubt you'll ever be again.
Dust Cairne for only 400 dust, are you guys nuts? I'm saving up to craft him. I would never DE him just for a measly 400 dust.
How about 450?
I've learned WHY he's so bad:
He does nothing to stop aggro or midrange aggro. He does not have taunt, and thus -- you have to kill him into aggro minions yourself. Dealing 4 damage -- the turn after you spend your entire turn 6 casting him and only him, letting aggro deal a full board worth of damage to you. Then, you get to deal 4 damage to one target.
He'd be EXTREMELY GOOD with MTG attacker and defender rules.
The questions you should ask yourself when pondering whether to disenchant a reasonable legendary (so not Millhouse Manastorm, that one is always a 'Dust me!' card) are these: Do i have other good legendaries that see play currently? Do i plan to play this game for a long time?
If the answer to both of these is Yes, then don't disenchant it! You already have some other options and chances are it will be good in some decks in the future and you will get enough dust during the future months of play to craft something else.
However if any of the answers is no, you might DE it and perhaps craft Dr. Boom or whatever good legendary is played these days.

i remember the days when people were asking if they should!
these are dark times
unless you've got a specific card in mind, don't disenchant for disenchants sake

Hold onto him, he could become viable again in some future meta like others said.
Dust it. I can't remember seeing him. He's so outclassed because of new 5 drops. I doubt he'll ever be used again.

Cairne biggest problem is, that it suck versus Sludge Belcher, before naxxx Cairne was everywhere, now it is how it is and that makes me sad...
For 1 more mana... you get Dr. Boom.

My battlefield mechanic concept.
My best and worst HS moments after TGT launch!
If you want to?
