Essentially everyone that is against nerfing this card has finally gotten their first legend rank with this ridiculously overpowered card and deck. I think it's pretty clear to everyone that a card that draws and plays 5 cards is beyond broken.
I went ahead and crafted two mysterious challengers last night - yes I joined the dark side...
Went 6-1 with all six wins over by turn 9, average winning game lasted less than 3 minutes. Its a small sample size as I only had a short time to play last night, but seems like this deck is crazy. I almost always had stuff to play early and get board control, then it was just Dr. 6 into Dr. 7 and GG. Two of my opponents conceded at turn 5. The games didn't even last long enough to drop Tirion. The only game I lost was to handlock when I didn't draw the challengers, and I probably misplayed that game by getting the warlock's health too low too quick. Crazy good deck.
As others have stated, the card quality with the normal paladin class cards like Shielded min-bot, muster, and divine favor, combined with Dr. 6 is just awesome.
I think the only nerf needed is for Dr. 6 to be a legendary. That would thin him out in the deck and make the deck less consistent. But I doubt Blizz will do this as they have never changed a card from epic to legendary.
Mysterious Challenger is a bit of a different situation to Warsong Commander because a new anti-Secret card release could slap it in the nads. Release a neutral low or midcost minion with the effect of Flare and bam, there goes the winrate.
Agreed it may be nerfed. On the other side of the argument I think the card has a really neat effect that has brought a new achetype and made paladin secrets playable again. Its just done it in a way too OP fashion. It kinda blows my mind that Blizzard didn't see this card as OP in the testing stages. Just from my small sample size playing the deck for a half hour I could see it. Not to mention in losing to the deck a couple of dozen times. How the hell did Blizz miss this?
Conspiracy theory: They knew Mysterious Challenger would be OP and went ahead with the card with the idea that they could make a new anti-secret card available in the last tier of an upcoming adventure. That way the adventure is guaranteed to be wildly succesful as everyone scramble to get access to the new anti-secret card.... genius! :)
so you can then ask for nerfs on Leper Gnome, Shredder and so on and forth? if you dont like the game dont encourage other people to dislike it as much as you do, asking for constant nerfs only hurts the game much more. Blizzard really is with you tho, crybabies

It used "unrelated nonsensical argument"!
It's not very effective....
But yeaah, why would anyone put a wager on the brain capacity of those who tried to defend this card.
"can't put up a good argument because dem crybabies are stating undeniable facts, I'll just run away from the topic and mutter some nonsense like bringing up totally-unrelated-to-the-topic Leper Gnome to add before some insults, cus me so smart! me smash not, me smart!"

Seems like a fair evaluation based on your comment, right?
I've never been Legend. I did play an aggro version of the secret Paladin when it first came out, and I didn't like the play style. I'm not a fan of pure aggro or aggro-style decks. As I've said several times, I prefer Midrange and Control, and as my mini-profile and avatar show on the left, Paladin is my favorite class.
I don't mind having a discussion about things like this that are hot topics. But when you go around throwing out random comments like this that don't contribute anything to the conversation, while simultaneously punching a lot of people that actually ARE contributing meaningful thoughts to the conversation in the metaphorical nuts? Well...
That's part of the reason this thread is 23 pages already.

+1. There was no good answer to patron with creating a card, Challenger could be completely disabled with a neutral card like Harrison Jones that does the same thing with secrets. IE, destroy opponents secrets and draw cards. Or even just a neutral that was destroy all secrets (including yours). This can be handled in the way that overused cards *should* be handled, with counter cards.
the struggle I have with Mysterious challenger is it's not a 6 mana 6/6. it's a 6 mana 10/9 because of Avenge & Competitive Spirit when it's the only card on the board, which has happened plenty of times. So it is impossible to trade equally with that single card.
The easiest way to help combat the card would be more cards that battle secrets than a single neutral card. Maybe expand silence effects to include heroes or a card to remove either hero weapon or secret.
They will try to nerf him with new cards before they actually for real nerf him. We are at least a new wing and an expansion away from seeing Mysterious Challenger take a hit from Blizzard.
You didn't see secret paladin in a tournament setting, because patron ruled the meta. Rule #1 of tournament play, don't bring a deck that is terrible against patron warrior.
Pro streamers already play against Secret Paladins every day. You don't hear them throw a fit.
Professionals also don't play Secret Paladins at tournaments, though this may very well change with the removal of Patron Warrior, which was a pretty hard counter to Secret Paladin (and Patron Warrior was at least a threat for everyone else to run).
You know what you will more than likely see the pros play at tournaments, though?
Midrange/Combo Druid
Tempo/Mech/Freeze Mage
Control Warrior
Midrange Hunter
Midrange/Control Paladin
How do I know that? They all share two things: they're usually consistent, and they have few bad matchups.
Ever wonder why you don't see many Dragon Priests at professional events, even with it being a pretty hard counter to Patron Warrior? It's too inconsistent.

The blizzard cycle is:
Release OP card -> Release useless counter -> delete card from game by nerfing it to oblivion. -> Begin a new.
I don't think they ever released a counter to Buzzard or Warsong Commander.
Its time Blizzard release a new legendary like Harrison Jones that destroy all enemy secrets and draw a card for each secret that was destroyed, like harrison that is a tech card and could even be 5 mana, and before people say it would be op, well its like bgh and seem balanced and being a tech card so all decks could run it, and hunter and mage would suffer the same, i believe that this card could punish paladin players enought to hold the deck a little at least and dont let it take over the meta

I acknowledged your point about it being bad against Patron :P

Am I the only one that has never had any trouble with secret paladin? And not just one hero or archetype either. I just realize I'm playing against secret paladin and save my hard removal for mysterious challenger and then its just triggering the secrets in the proper order. I just don't understand all this talk about nerfing it. If played correctly you can counter it pretty effectively. Plus its not that reliable, you can end up with a dead hand full of secrets or just not draw your 2 mysterious challengers.

we've been through this before. a card is clearly OP and needs to be tuned down a bit. only question is how long will it take them to do it.
