Whats the matter? Wild Pyromancer is just better.. and who plays pyro in hunter? No one. It used to be a thing but it was a thing for like 2 weeks at its max..
Wild Pyromancer is 1 Mana cost lower and it has a controlled 1 Dmg to board effect. The Beast type of Dreadscale is like w/e. If u want to buff it somehow.. well.. it wont work cause with houndmaster its negative value. Cause of the new Lock and Load Card for Hunter its not even that bad to take Pyro for some boardclear. Mabye u can even reduce the spellcosts with the emporer. The difference between 3 and 4 ATT is like literraly nothing to minions and it has still the 2 life. A next lvl combo would be like Dreadscale > Unleash the Hounds on a big board > scavenging Hyena? Or maybe hunter will start to play Alarm -o- Bot cause of the other legendarys (Gahzrilla/King Crush/Acidmaw)??
You missed the point of this card ENTIRELY.
One of the most dominant (and most annoying) decks to play against is face hunter, and one of the chief weaknesses of the Face Hunter decks is that the minions that are used have low health. This card is meant as a counter to that kind of deck. Leper Gnomes, Unleash the Hound Tokens, that sort of thing. Dreadscale eats weenies for breakfast, and if left out for two turns, basically 95% of all Face Hunter minions are dead. It's a minion they have to either kill with a spell or trade to kill it.
I made the comment that Face Hunter was dead. I wasn't being sarcastic. If I was playing Face Hunter and this was played early enough, I'd want to get Dreadscale off the board yesterday, because this little bastard is a threat. This card is essentially the counter to Face Hunter that many Hearthstone players have been begging for Blizzard to address for MONTHS. Forget seeing this card as a combo piece and more as what it can do on it's own.
It's a free whirlwind, which is ok, but that's all it is. A 3 mana 4/2 is not going to stick to the board for more than a turn.
Really this should've been a Warrior or Paladin card, and it would see play. But in hunter? It doesn't even really combo with Gahz'rilla because you want the damage the turn it attacks, not after the turn is over. I very much doubt this card will see play. Even in arena it's on the mediocre end of legendaries.
This is extremely good in control hunter.. it's like mini geddon.. it's playable without his brother (who is super overcosted) and will probably be played alone (if played at all)
People complaining about this don't understand the value it has in Control Hunter. Control Hunter has pretty much no other choice but to use Pyromancers and Acolytes for their card draw. Although there are a number of cheap spells for hunters to cycle a pyro with, it often sucks wasting those spells in situations that aren't optimal. Dreadscale is just one card, making it easier to get than the two cards required for pyro + spell, plus it leaves a bigger body than pyro and doesn't damage itself. As often mentioned, it also provides a combo piece for Gahz'rilla.
Much better than its counterpart Acidmaw, since it can board clear on its own against most aggro decks, or with Unleash the Hounds or Hunter's Mark setting up the kill.
This. Control hunter will never be a thing without healing/armor. Some combo's might look nice on paper, but will never happen
True man. No healing, no armor, no card draw - Blizzard just added new shit to "control hunter" like they did with Gaz'rilla which nobody plays. Even Webspinner refuses to spawn it.
I'm sorry, am i missing something? Isn't this card useless? Or what's so good or cleaver about it? If added up with it's pal acidmaw you'll wipe the board at turn 10, so what? That's what Deathwing does as well, but it comes with a big body and it's no combo piece. The 3-drop i can see being used but that acidmaw seems like really useless. And 2 health on a 7 drop? Isn't that like any kind of record of low hp with high mana costs?
You are right man, this is just a piece of shit card. Blizzard just puts out a 7 mana 4/2 bad artwork card and call it legendary and everybody gets hyped. I am sure it wont be seen in competitve play. Like king of beasts, gaz'rilla, steemwhiddle sniper and all the other fucked up "control hunter" (lmao). The only thing those two new hunter legendaries do is being a nerf to sneed's old shredder.
Hunter has now four (4) (to do it Blizz style) legendaries that won't see play. But hey, at least this keeps it a cheap class for beginners ... and bad legendaries means my spare dust will last longer, so, why am I complaing ;)
On a sidenote: no, i can not imagine that the 10 mana combo of the two worms will be even remotely good... if this is ok, it is against a meta in which token strategies are suuuuper common (wich still equals most probably never...)
And please, control hunter?! Why all this hype, the hero power just won't make this happen - and it is ok if 1 class stays between super fast aggro and most aggressive Midrange Deck ... if you want to go deep, there is lots of other classes ...
It's an extremely powerful 3 drop, why are people freaking out that it's not OP? Has decent synergy with a couple cards. It's obviously Legendary so you can't have two of it in a deck. People do nothing but whine and cry about Face Hunter and then whine and cry when Hunter gets good cards that support a Control deck style. But yeah, k, this card isn't OP so it must be trash. Keep it up boys.
people blindly going into some unresolved issues with facehunter no matter what the card is as long as its hunter card? also it's funny how 50% of you comment how bad this is while actually talking about his buddy (the 7 mana one) .. i mean are you seriously that slow? this is very nice card for more controlish hunter on it's own .. and yes a control hunter will definetely emerge after all these control hunter cards introduced.. it just needs fine tuning and it might even turn out to be viable enough to survive in the meta after few months of TGT
edit: for anyone who says that control hunter just wont happen coz facehunter or midrange are both better -> well if the meta goes in a way where facehunter is unfavored against best meta decks or just anyone tech well against it then this is totally viable.. not only that but seems like control hunter itself will have enough answers to counter facehunt, which is very interesting.. also interesting card in control hunter might be the 6mana 6/5 which copies the enemy heropower.

death to aggro pally and murlocs and face hunter yay

Trump thinks this card is great, he says Acidmaw is terrible though.
Hmm, playing mage, get a copy of Acidmaw with Mirror Entity, into Arcane Explosion
Much better than its counterpart Acidmaw, since it can board clear on its own against most aggro decks, or with Unleash the Hounds or Hunter's Mark setting up the kill.
Blizzard just call them legendary - actually its just two shitty cards which won't see play beyond rank 24.

board wipe, anti face hunter or any zoo deck. let's see if it gets any play in the upcoming meta
Acidmaw is immune to its own effect
Nice card! do want
it's better than acidmaw, which you won't even need to play
Say "Wow" for RNG!
battlecry will be better for control and stats when hp<health for 3 drop also not good for some kind of control hunter
Wel pretty decent card for control hunter! Great against eboladin and face hunter! Will def see play

It's not battlecry.
