You're comparing one card with another individual card. That's not how Recruiter works. Look at all the other cards that alter your hero power. Plus different themed deck for each card
Isn't this almost objectively better than Silver Hand Knight? In a paladin, this could be so useful, because Dude-ing is something you do almost every turn, and by Dude-ing with this you not only get a 1/1 Dude, you also get 2/2 Dude. Dude.

Oh my god....people compare cards in Hearthstone? NO WAI! But seriously that's exactly how this forum works. Recruiter is a 5/4. Silver Hand Knight is a 4/4. Recruit requires you to hero power, which means you either play him on curve and risk him being a 1 mana overcosted Lost Tallstrider, or you wait until turn 7 (i.e. not on curve) and play him with hero power. Even then you have to turn around and play the Squire (which I'm assuming is a 2/2), So you're wasting the mana to play a 2/2 squire and the only real value you get is....well card value. It's great value wise but horrible tempo wise unless you have hero modifying powers already in place, or you wait until later.
I'll reserve judgement entirely until later, but for now...yes Silver Hand Knight objectively seems like it's a better play.

I never said comparing cards is wrong. What I said is there are dependent and independent cards. Recruiter is a dependent card. Combining cards that lets you use your hero power multiple time or for a cheaper cost is at its highest value. And obviously in an inspired-themed deck. Silver Hand Knight is an independent card, where its highest value works by itself without the reliance of other cards. Hence different card for different deck.

No because the Recruiter puts the Squire into your hand, it does not summon it on the board.
Oh. Shit. :/ So you're paying 3 mana for a 3/3. That sucks...

That it's only added to your hand makes this kinda "meh" at first glance.
Uncle Sam!
Vision without action is a dream. Action without vision is a nightmare.
"Squire attend me... later maybe."
Stats close enough to decent - such that I wouldn't mind playing him on curve. Forcing your opponent to remove things inefficiently has value too.
Better just playing Silver Hand Knight

A shittier Silver Hand Knight. I'll pass. If the Inspire summoned the squires, this would be on par and possibly better than Silver Hand Knight.

really? Squire i mean 1mana is good for a 2/2 but still, Silver Hand Knight will be better than Recruiter

The question is; how much does the Squire cost.
Current Deck -http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/240420-army-paladin - Token Paladin
Squire
12 wins in ArenA with: Mage and Paladin, first time legend with Rogue
Yeah, better prep eviscerate, we wouldn't want you getting lots of 1 mana 2/2s for your 2 mana hero power.
This card will see play only in arena, it's too slow, and the squires don't justify the bad stats.
Would you play this instead of Harrison Jones if patron warrior stays popular? Yeah, didn't think so :P
My comments refer mostly to the wild format.
I love his art. He is probably only viable if a token deck pops up.
Who can take your trash out?
Stomp it down for you?
Shake the plastic bag
and do the twisty thingy, too?
token hype! :b will do nicely in freeze mage.
