I still use it in my CW and im still happy with it. Its situational, though, Combined with Justicar its a nonbo, so you have to wait until you drew Justicar. But Varian gives you board and cardadvantage like nothing else. Its a gamechanging card.
Not a bad card, just be careful with the amount of card draw you have. I personally don't run Slams and Shield Blocks anymore. The fatique isn't a huge problem, drawing even one good late game minion probably wins the game before you run out of cards. Getting rid of battlecry minions isn't necessary either, the only really bad one is Faceless Manipulator. In all other cases getting the free minion is better than having it in your hand with the battlecry.

His flavor text says he's the king of Stormwind. I have a feeling Blizzard might change his flavor text for...reasons...
Guess more there will be a lot more classic legendaries with a second appereance. Prepare to face Millhaus Manastorm, Devil (G)imp!
