Dang sorry Shamans. Looks like Blizz still underestimates the drawback of overload. Well at least you can dust off your Lava Shocks for a week until overload decks are thrown in the trash again.
Edit: I don't think this is a bad card. Just the 2 Overload prevents you from running 2 in a deck or you will destroy your curve. Should be ok for topdecking lethal.
Very costly, not playable in early and mid game. Becomes passable when you are at 10 mana already. I guess, it's better to just run a couple cantrips over Ancestral Knowledge.
Damn it blizzard, I actually like the art on this one. Can't justify not playing it now. Cards like ancestral healing may just make the cut due to the existence of a legit card draw mechanic in shaman. Am definitely testing this card out when expansion hits.
From an external look, It does actually look like a strictly worse Arcane Intellect. There are points that this is unusable early and mid-game but current Shamans just fight for tempo either way on those turns. Card draw, most of the time is actually already saved for late-game when running out of fuel and when overload matters less as games go on. Who knows? Maybe this'll be a sleeper hit.

It's clear card for drawing so overload may be not problem. You usually will use this card when your hand is empty or almost empty, that make place mainly in lategame. And in lategame overload doesn't hurt so much. You can play 8-mana minion from this card in the same turn. But anyway it's still worse then Mage's option, that's true.
Arcane Intellect is also Mage's only draw mechanic at all. And this card is better at high mana; since you pay later and can't always use all your mana at 10 anyway.
This is not as good as it seems. Shaman want to use all of their mana on turn4,5,6 and 7 for one strong creature. You cant play it earlier either, because you would loose total board control. So this card will be played after turn 7, where most games with shaman are already decided. It might see play, but it wont save Shaman.

''With great power comes great electricity bill.''
I can see why the overload is so strict. An understimated shaman archetype, maly+ancestrall's call shaman, is actualy quite better than freezemage if you give him an arcane intellect, it has more reach and crazier early setups. Makes sense, like the card overall.
OH DAMN SON NICE! Drawing cards with shaman hasn't been too hard, but I think with this card people don't have to play those 2 Azure Drakes and Mana Tide Totem in every deck. The overload may be 2, but perhaps you can draw into Lava Shock with this card. I only use card like Arcane Intellect when I'm out of plays, which is not usually in the early game (certainly not 'on curve'), so the overload on this I think would be circumvented since it's played when you're out of other cards to play.
As opposed to Arcane Intellect though, instead of just accelerating your hand this digs through your deck with such an efficient mana cost. Lets say your opponent plays a minion, and you've got no answer. But you're a shaman, so you Ancestral Knowledge and you draw into your Crackle or Earth Shock or Hex. With the reduced mana cost, you can actually play both cards and maybe even establish a board yourself.
it's about time blizz changes overload so at the end of the turn you remove blocked mana crystals = amount of mana crystals you did not spent on the turn.
I'm tired of having to Lightning Bolt on turn 2 and have to pass with one mana left only to be on "turn 2" again next turn.
Finally a draw for Shaman! 4 mana (with overload) for 2 cards in bad compared to Arcane Intellect but there's Lava Burst to potentially make this 2 mana for 2 card, which is very good. At least this is way better than Mana Tide Totem.

Pretty cool, pricey though.
I like this one, it can be played late game without the overload been too much of a trouble and it may be used with Lava shock.
Not the answer that Shaman needed. However can be played in aggro shaman or totem shaman??

OMG YESSS!! Card draw!!! hype :D ( i dont care about 3,4 or 5 mana )
Considering how badly Shamans need draw this is good.

Also; Lava Shock.

Best card: Malygos
This card makes me feel as if I'm paying taxes. Pay with overload to get cards with more overload.

Seems like classes get three commons this time, not 2 as in GvG
