Just like most other TGT cards that have been spoiled sofar, this looks fair. And guess what, in the current constructed meta, fair is synonymous with unplayable! considering that overpowered agro cards like Knife Juggler, Mad Scientist and Haunted Creeper exist, why would you ever play a card that is just fair?
Granted, you can do some nice things with this if you buff its attack, but with its 2/1 it is way too weak to being pinged off by mages etc. And if you put a Blessing of Kings on it or something, hello says Earth Shock / Silence. The way i see it, this card is essentially a 3 mana Backstab, aweful value, aweful tempo. It could have easilly been a 2/2 with charge and divine shield.
Even in arena i dont really see this card merit that much use, since mages still represent 40% or so of the drafts and they get to ping it off for free.
I dont think this is an aggro card, and it wont replace Wolf rider, but we will see about that. However, you can use it with buffs like Blessing of kings, and thats the way to go with this card IMO. If you face an aggro deck, you dont need to wait until T6-7 like with Argent commander, you can just use it to slow down the aggro, but if its later in the game, with BoK you can kill any minion with 6 or less health, and maintain a 6/5 body on the board, Sure, it can be silenced, but in that case you traded your divine shield with your opponents minion and traded your BoK for opponents silence, which might not be a bad deal. Also, if they use their silence on your BoK, that means they wont have that for your other threats like Sylvanas or Tirion (or even Blood Knight). So I came up with this:
Its just a theorycraft 0.1 version, but I think you can get the general idea, and something like this might even work in the current metagame.
I don't think your list is half bad, but I can immediately tell what you cut from it compared to other Midrange Pally lists and I'm not even a regular Paladin player: Lay on Hands, Quartermaster, the second Aldor Peacekeeper. I'm not sure if cutting those cards is worth it. I guess Blessing of Wisdom for draw and the Annoy-o-Trons and Antique Healbot for survivability all make Lay on Hands less necessary. So that's probably a good cut. I also think Blessing of Wisdom is one of those cards that is really borderline playable currently and might become actually playable with the Valkyrie twins-- I would definitely consider messing around with those cards in Paladin after TGT hits. But is Argent Horserider really better than Aldor and Quartermaster in a midrange list? Now that's the choice I'm really skeptical of. Honestly I would probably consider running only one copy of Argent Horserider at most (it's still decent with the buffs, Blood Knight and Equality), and instead trying to fit in the Aldor or Quartermaster.

Well, I cant tell if it is better than a standard midrange pally, but here is my reasoning for the card choices. This deck runs more situtional cards, like the 4 buffs, the Blood Knight, and the usual ones, like Equality and Consecration. So if I want to maintain balance, i should cut some situational cards, like Quartermaster. Its not bad, but you cant slam him anytime when you have the mana for him. So instead going for the Muster-combo (which is a good card by itself), I tried to build the deck with minions that are better with buffs, like the twins, the Annoy-o-Trons and the Argent Horseriders. Of course this deck can be fine-tuned, its just a first attempt, but I hope that this concept will see some more love in TGT and can become competitive.
That's pretty good reasoning. I guess we'll see in a couple weeks how well it works! :)
Although I can blame this card forever... I already have visions of it destroying me in contructed from agro Paly or some lucky dire wolf warlock :D People will play it just for the sake of playing it and it will have its decent winrate.
I like the art, it has nice visual for buff decks, so I will be glad to share some hits with this knight. It reminds me of Deathcharger and I loved that card :p
this barely gives you a tempo advantage if your opponent chooses to hero power twice...
Anyone not dissapointed with these cards has low standards, or doesnt understand the game. Are you serious with this card beeing good?, look at the three drops available, if you want something that is "good against aggro" play your deathlord.
HE kills a knife juggler - good argument. But knife juggler also kills it back pretty hard too, whichever is played first.
And this guy has Charge. So you play it as a response to guarentee you kill that Juggler.
And then he's still alive to kill something else with 2 or less HP; which is the majority of aggro cards except those in Mechmage and Voidwalker
Instead of creating a quote wall I'll just start a new reply.
2) It does matter. Any card that deals more damage is better, so if a card is stickier and gets an extra attack it is better. Dealing 15 damage by turn 4 is fairly rare in face hunter matchups; the only times this happens is leper gnome coin leper gnome shenanigans and the opponent has ZERO answers which I find very rarely happens at <200 legend. Most realistic games I have dealt ~7-10 damage turn 4 and have no problem closing the game out at high level legend play. Obviously you mulligan for 1 drops, but often I don't get them and it's unfortunate but you then have to establish a stronger board in order to deal larger amounts of damage each turn to even have a chance of winning. Any game where you play haunted creeper turn 2 *a fairly decent amount in my experience* you are not going to deal 15 damage by turn 4.
3) Obviously squire + leper is stronger because it's 2 cards. I can point to almost any 2 card combo and it will be stronger than 1 card with a combined effect for a higher mana cost. You know what's way better than wolfrider? Three elven archers. There's also a downside to putting squire in your deck in that it is an abysmal topdeck and only works as turn 1 cheese because it does nothing the turn it is played unlike this card. Anyway, the scenario you listed I would most likely lose because I would have to rely on board control combos like unleash and mad scientist to bring the game back. You know what card wouldn't help in that scenario? A wolf rider.
2) The fact that this card is a little more stickier doesn't mean it will do more dmg (at least not to face), it only means opp will have a little more troubles with killing it. But they will kill it. Aggro decks hardly keep the board in mid-late game, dealing with double leppers start is hard, but from turn 4 you are rather going to have your board cleared every single turn without much effort. That's why you run chargers instead hardly killable minions. Because relying on minions on the board, while you don't pay attention to favorable trading makes no sense. With attitude of going face, you can only rely on dmg from your hand, if something like Huffer or this card somehow manages to survive a turn, it's added amazing value, but not something you could expect. So ultimately if you compare Wolfrider and this, then Wolfrider deals 3 dmg and this deals 2.
3) You are missing the point. We were discussing only about early-game at that point. I was trying to make you realize, why Argent is by no means early game card. It's obvious in early game and in mid-late game you rely on different cards. As aggro deck you want bunch of small minions in early game and some strong dmg in late game. But Argent is neither of those. At 3 mana it can't be considered early game by any reasonable aggro deck and it's weaker than even cheaper starts. On the other hand it doesn't deal enough dmg to be considered as replacement for Arcane, Huffer or Wolfrider in late game. Ultimately you have something that is subpar to already existing options.
Sorry for such late response, but I wasn't active on forum since my last post yesterday.
The fact that it is stickier does mean it will do more damage, and sticky low damage cards ARE run. Haunted creeper is run and it has 1 attack because it will attack multiple times, has potential to help with board control thanks to knife juggler combo and has the beast tag; WOAH BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE CHARGE OR HIGH ATTACK? Turn three your opponent will almost certainly NOT be able to remove this minion like they could wolf rider and against most decks face hunter has board control turn 3. Classes like druid have no way to kill this card as opposed to wolf rider so this card WILL do more damage in most matchups.
After playing this in brawl, ill say its gona be everywhere after launch. This card looks so good, basically S7 Agent with weaker body but doesnt need a combo as neutral. Its good for agro and on same page good vs agro ill say this is gonna be one of the most played cards from this set.
I think whether or not Wolfrider or Argent Horserider is better in Face Hunter is a close call and it's a mistake to dismiss Argent Horerider before it can tested, while Wolfrider is a mulligan in Facehunter it's possible Argent Horserider is not if you have the Coin because it's Charge and Divine Shield allow you to play more tactically by trading your Divine Shield for their minion and then unstealthing your Worgen to attack while maintaining board control. I think the "bad" Facehunter players are going to look at this card the same way they looked at Quickshot, they'll fail to appreciate anything that doesn't go face for more damage instead of valuing something that makes the deck less linear while still being able to go face ... it's nice to have another card that lets us value trade in Face Hunter, and I think Divine Shield does lead, or could lead to either more damage or more board control because what most "bad" Facehunter players don't understand is that if the opponent has to lose tempo to his hero power, or in the case of Rogue/Druid take 2 damage as well, or trade 2 minions into this then he has far less resources to mount a counter attack with. This card seems like a particular head ache for Zoo, because unlike Wolfrider it can't be Mortal Coiled or Implosioned so I think once people actually see the card in practice they'll change their minds.
That said, I'm almost positive this is better than Wolfrider in Paladin or Rogue where Blessing of Might or Coldblood could generate insane value with Charge and Divine Shield, and it's an ideal target for Lance Bearer as well. I'd give a lot of thought to it in Zoo as well as a way to react to the board and more enablers for Power Overwhelming. I think this is my favorite card in the set, and if you can't see the potential for it then you're probably the guy who got Legend off of Smorc.
It's essentially half an Argent Commander
In fact, It's cheaper then half an Argent Commander, because Commandor pays 7 stats for the effects, while Horserider only pays 4 .
Give a man a Murloc, and he'll eat for a day.
Give him a Murloc Knight, and people will hate him.

Some synergy with buff cards, sure. But the 3 mana drop is so important for aggro. Can they use that turn to drop a 2/1?
It'll give aggro the edge over other aggro, though. By giving them a 1 mana removal on knife juggler/mad scientist/w/e while dropping a 2/1 body.
But control can't give up important spots to add this to fight aggro. It's not worth it.
I think ultimately.. it's a 5.5/10 -6/10. It can see some play, possibly.
I think I watch more Hearthstone than I play. Not sure how I feel about that.

In an unexpected twist, this card is in EVERY aggro deck.
Never say "never say never"
Not a surprise to me, this is exactly what I predicted but people fought me tooth and nail to say argent horserider wouldn't replace wolfrider.
edit: it's even funnier that people would think this card would be anti-aggro, lmao.
