Alright, so I'm having a real hard time understand when Sylvannas kills Sylvannas and what the outcome will be. I have been burned by not understanding the outcome about 4 times. Here are two scenarios...
1) Opponent has a minion and Sylvannas. I just have Sylvannas. I attack opponent's, thinking the effects go off simultaneously (why would one get precendent over the other???), and sure enough I gain control, but a couple seconds later the opponent's effect occurs and he gains BACK control of the minion he had. NOW WHY THE HELL WOULD HIS EFFECT GO OFF AFTER MINE?
2) Opponent and I just have Sylvannas out. I am a Paladin and cast "Retribution" so that after the deaths my Sylvannas will come back with 1 health. I attack his Sylvannas and they both die. Two "skull and crossbone" effects occur, making me think the effect has cancelled. Then my Retribution pops and voila, my Sylvannas is back with 1 health. 2 seconds later, HE TAKES CONTROL OF SYLVANNAS. Now this really pissed me off, as I would suppose the two Sylvannas's Dying effects would surely take place BEFORE coming my Sylvannas comes back alive.
I am thinking this is simply a buggy in the programming of the Death Queue and they set Sylvannas effect to to check at the beginning and the end of a fight, just to cover all their bases for the many events which could occur. This has naturally lead to scenarios such as Him taking BACK the Minion I took originally, or even taking Back a Sylvanass on an effect that actually occurred AFTER the Deaths.
Please, someone help me understand if I am crazy, or should understand the "Stack" better? I come from MTG and always had to pay attention to the minute rules of the "Stack". I simply thought Hearthstone's events were much more simplistic.
I'm pretty sure it was stated that whom ever plays the Slyvannas first goes off first. So if he played his first and then you played yours second and played charge on it (for the sake of the example) and attacked into it, then his would go then yours. I have not payed close enough attention to actually test this myself.
Its a known bug that slyvanas does not work as intended. I believe that the intention is that whoever plays first it will go off, but at the moment its completely random who goes first and changes based on a variety of factors.
As said above, the first played out of 2 of the same cards will trigger first, so the 2nd played Slyvannas would trigger after the first. Secondly Secrets take precedent over every other action I believe. So when yours triggered it stopped the Deathrattle effect, triggered itself, then resumed it.
