Yea Coldaara drake is a mage card but ever since GvG getting spells/minions from other classes isnt unheard of.
Recomboulator for instance could give you the drake as a rogue.
In any case I really do think if they main focus of this xpac is on inspire and insipire like cards (for example madien Coldaara who arent insipre cards but work with the HP) rogue isnt going to be getting much.
Also people dont seem to understand that this coldara/maiden of lake thing isnt realy playable in constructed. It was just because the predesigned decks from blizz where terribad.
Its a 10 Mana combo, with 2 cards that needs to survive a whole turn, and a weapon which your openent has no anwer to. Even if coldara would be playable in rouge this combo would be bad.
But still the question is why this card has no silver textbox.
However, where was this card shown? Havent seen it on Stream yesterday and the dubious thing is, that it has no silver square araound the text box. Is this a rouge card at all?
That's an interesting point, the border is darker than normal. I also noticed that "hero power" isn't properly capitalized and is bolded, which is anomalous. "Poisoned Blade" is also a pretty redundant and underwhelming name considering other rogue weapons. The whole thing just looks and feels unpolished, like a fan creation to be honest.
If it is real, there's got to be something coming that will make it viable, because it's garbage in its current state. Or, maybe, it's a neutral weapon that a minion gives you, which would explain it's underwhelming nature and black border.
wow.. I came to this thread wondering if anyone else shared my concerns about the potential of this card and instead am greeted with SIX pages calling it crap. I'm floored. For a site that's supposed be about innovative deckbuilding and theorycrafting I'm seeing a severe lack of imagination and creativity in this thread. I've seen TWO posters that potentially "get it"
You can laugh at me, call me a troll, save this post for posterity, whatever, but I'm calling it now: this card will be at the center of a rogue cancer deck in a few months. Bank on it.

Not without something new to combo it with.
I can think of a deck using -existing- cards that would be a handful, and judging by what I've seen so far from the direction they seem to be going with inspire.. yeah.
I'm not gonna say -what- (yeah, I know.. lame. Sorry, I don't like sharing my ideas except among close friends. I prefer letting opponents see them firsthand for the first time), but like I said, I've seen two people in this thread that seem to understand. The only hint I'll give is that most of the people calling it crap are too hung up on cost and initial value (or are perhaps too aggro-minded) and aren't thinking outside the box.
If the Rogue hero power went back to how it was before it got nerfed, this could be a good card. As it stands, by default you pay 6 mana for a 2/3 weapon. Or 8 mana for a 3/3 weapon. Wheras you could pay 5 mana for a 3/4 weapon. :/
I think the Rogue hero power in general is just weak - if Rogue got more low cost weapons and the hero power was "Give your weapon +1 Attack or +1 Durability at random", then their Hero power interactions would be a lot more useful. As it stands, this is just not worth the effort. Even if it was +2 attack per hero power, this doesn't quite make up for the mana loss.
@Kwilkill: If you're not prepared to actually suggest anything, why would you start calling people out for lack of creativity?
As regards the card with combos, I guess you could have Maiden of the Lake + Garrison Commander on one turn, then next turn Deadly Poison + Hero Power + Hero Power and you'd have a 5 attack weapon for a total of 13 mana. I guess you could Blade Flurry that, and get a Spell Damage +1Flamestrike + 5 face damage. But the disadvantage is that you empty out your hand and spend an extra bajillion mana, and for the face damage you could've done an Eviscerate anyway at face + Hero Power for 4. There's also the fact that you're relying on an empty Turn 6 essentially. The situational nature of this combo makes it pretty much completely inviable. What combo could you possibly be talking about?!
Seems like this card will allow rogues to use their hero power every turn for Inspire mechanics while allowing them to actually have a weapon, and also not just keep replacing their wicked knife after 1 dura loss. I think this is their attempt to deal with the fact that rogues have a hero power that is actually detrimental to them a lot of the time, and yet all these new cards seem to promote spamming it.
Also, why not have a weapon that you can build up each turn towards a huge blade flurry combo?

I still believe that some cards will be released to not make this card complete garbage, but it still takes too long I think. If people are teching in Harrison Jones or Acidic Swamp Ooze then you just sacrificed lots of tempo and mana for jack.
He maybe looking for a possibility of a 2 or 3 drop that changes everything, which is pretty unlikely. Or a rouge spell that award rogue control play, or a spell cost 0 and reduce cost of rogue card, even more unlikely. Or maybe this is just a pirate deck dagger...However, one can always dream lol. Lets see wt surprise blizz gave players this time.
I say: 5 mana for a Stormforged Axe that will keep on growing every turn! 5 mana you may ask? Have you forgotten about Maiden of the Lake?
Ok, it's not like I don't understand why people are saying this is bad, but tbh who knows? It's slow, and it's weak to weapon removal, but more cards might be released to synergize with it. I mean, Rogue's hero power is kind of hard to synergize with Inspire since you kind of don't use it regularily, they had to make SOME card that fixes this problem. It could have been better of course, but Inspire is going to be useless in Rogue unless they make more cards that work like or synergize with this.
you need to HP two times before it gets to assasins blade level.... sure, inspire is cool and all, but they would really need some crazy inspires for this weapon to be worth running at all...
If you could get Coldarra Drake with Maiden of the Lake and conceal, you could make this strong very fast.
Equip it and upgrade your damage to 7/3 next turn, then maybe 17/2 the turn after. Lol.

Even Sabotage is bad though only Prep
Seems to me that this card is half of a combo. We just haven't seen the other half yet.
I'm kind of expecting some sort of auctioneer for Rogue. Something that activates your hero power every time you cast a spell.

We don't know. Maybe Garrison Commander can apply on the rogue's hero power (with a hidden rule)

So, can anyone answer where this came from?
It's real, deal with it.
God help us if a rogue manages to get a hold of Coldarra Drake. It will be a sad day in hearthstone when one of those is mind control tech'd.

Too expensive, and/or not enough durability, and/or not enough base attack. 3 for a 2/3 would be fine, and 3 for a 1/4 would be too.

If hero power refreshes durability too, it will be usable but initiative attack is low 2 attack is ok.
