I don't think it's as strong as people think. You have to play with the card in mind and mage rarely has large minions outside of giants which would be better used with duplicate more often than not. It'll be a great card mind you, but I don't think it's THAT great.
It's a huge play. Hopefully, there are more ways to get rid of secrets in the new expansion. Also, I'm hoping that this gets triggered immediately off the Mad Scientists death. That guy needs a drawback badly.

How it would be a drawback? It'd turn Scientist into a Shredder (!) with added deck thinning.
Yes, but that's better than using Effigy as a tempo play into a more expensive drop. The secret is more effective when triggered from a high cost minion.

Still not a drawback, but even more opness. 2-drop replacing itself with another 2-drop would be hilarious tempo play. There's a reason Shredder summons "only" 2-drop, not 4-drop.
Makes no sense. For mage the scientist replaces itself with a 3-mana spell. That's the tempoplay. If it only replaced itself it would lose a lot of value. If shredder produced as much value as scientist does (for mage) it would summon a 6-drop, that you would obviously need to have in your deck, but still.
Can you imagine setting this up before a Piloted Shredder or Twilight Drake turn? Or maybe even before you play a Mountain Giant, but that's like the perfect scenario in a much slower deck type.

Too strong imo. I think I'll start running 2X kezan
I didn't have a signature so Flux added one for me.
It's better than Duplicate, imho auto include in every mage deck (maybe except Freeze).
Legends:
- Season 14 [May 2015] - Mech Mage
- Season 17 [August 2015] - Combo Druid
Taunt up a big minion and GG

looking like its gonna be fun for mages next expac :D
Pretty great secret. A slightly random, but potentially insane version of Duplicate.

Mages have the best secrets of all the game, wich makes part of the class. What were you guys expecting?
I expect more secret-interaction a la kezan mystic to balance things out.

Very strong secret, one more good secret for mage's arsenal.

I'm going to play Majordomo Executus for a bit after launch at least until I can pull of the following combo.
Step 1. Play Effigy
Step 2. Play Majordomo Executus
Step 3 Once minion is Dead Effigy [/card] gives me [card]Malganis
Gonna be so fun to pull off lol!

One of the most powerful cards in recently announced expansion.
I think this cards existence will lead to a Mad Scientist nerf
no need for more situative and random secrets.
