I like it with Echo of Medivh, Frost Giants or Molten Giants can provide so much value (4 giants on board and 4 giants in hand from just the two Giants -> so if he has like Execute + BGH you still have 6 8/8's left and if he has like Brawl + BGH, you still have 4 8/8's in hand) with double Echo and this prevents the problem of losing to a control in fatigue if he plays around the Moltens!
An improved Control/Midrange-matchup in turn gives you more possibilities to tech against aggro.
We've actually been over this quite a bit. Many don't think it's an auto include in handlock. Some don't think it'll go in there at all. The other giants fit better. Do you really want 6 8/8s? That means taking out slots used for other things like removal, board clear, healing, etc. If you don't want to add them to the other giants, which ones go? Molten is amazing when you can reduce your health on your own. Mountains are quicker than the others because they can come down turn 4. Maybe you replace 1 mountain with 1 frost and then use another slot to add a 5th giant? Again, that isn't instant addition.
The card is suited for control warrior, control mage, and control priest. They all get defensive value out of their hero powers which means it's safer to use them often. Warriors can make special use of it as a late game combo tool. Get it to 0 cost, give it charge and another buff and drop faceless for potential 22 damage. Grinder style mages can use it as another late game tool (making them very similar to handlock). I feel like priest will be the most fair class to use it effectively.
Auto-include in Handlock definitely. Maybe even mulligan for this card in some of the relatively slower matchups like against priest or ctrl warrior and maybe you can drop this guy on turn 6 or something.
I think this could work for priest and warrior maybe.
My instinct told me that this Frost Giant + Charge will be cancerous in control Warrior.
Strongly doubt that. We already have Grommash who is very easy to play effectively
Well Grommash cost 8 and that combo cost... 3 (on turn 15-20, almost the same time you would play Grommash). You can still play Cruel Taskmaster in your deck to get same amount of damage output, and Charge could be used on other minions as well to get out of clutch situations.
Yes Frost Giant is potentially cheaper, that's a definite potential advantage. But it really slows down your deck too much. I quite often play Grommash for lethal by Turn 10 after a Turn 9 Alexstrasza or simple face damage if I took board control in the midgame. By turn 15-20 you really shouldn't need an OTK, if they're a fast deck then they've run out of steam and if they're a slow deck then you should have enough Armor built up and enough late-game minions like Ysera/Rag to likely take the win anyway.
I'm confident someone will find a solid deck with Frost Giant, but I don't see it being a replacement for conventional Control Warrior minions.

Hmm.... Let's say its a 4x cheaper-to-craft-Grommash that you can put 2 of them in your deck. :D
We'll have to see whether it's better than Grommash, or just another useless gimmick after the meta stabilized after card released.
First, if Molten Giant haven't replaced Grommash for the same combo you are talking about I doubt it, as control warrior goes down on health a lot during a lot of matches before armoring up like crazy.
Second, to put one frost giant and the charge spell in your deck means you will have to cut two cards from it (grommash and another one)
Third, having charge in your hand as a dead card is very bad for warrior as the only reliable card draw they have is acolyte of pain and shield block, and if you spend it on another minion for board control you loose your usual win condition.

It's a decent giant for any deck that hero powers alot. As a 1 of might not be a bad tempo play late game; paying 2 or 3 mana for an 8/8 regardless of life, board, and hand, can't be THAT bad.
With the new Inspire thingy minions we will probably be hero powering more i assume, too.
I really want to try him in a "Ping" Mage Deck,2 Fallen Heroes,2 garrison commanders,2 maiden of the Lake,2 coldarra drake, nexus chapion sarraad and 2 frost giants.I am not sure of its competitivity but it sounds fun!!
Garrison Commander is kinda overkill if youre running 2 Coldarra Drake already, but would definately be fun. I can see this as a freeze/ping/echo mage. Lots of sustain, plenty of ping dmg for removal, and then drop 2 Frost Giant , Echo of Medivh then double giant again. All why having Iceblock up? GG.
This might be my favorite card art yet, but that might be my love of illustrations from Scandinavian folk tales talking. (Please do excuse the brief departure from card theory. :P )
Do we know if Frost Giant will reset his cost if you get him from Duplicate or Echo of Medivh or not?
I really hope not, but it's not unlikely that it does.

Last deck I got to legend with: Oil/Miracle-Tempo/Control Rogue!
Instant addition to handlock decks.. actually can be used for all classes, hunters will auto abuse the hero power :P

I get this feeling that echo will reset the mana cost of the card, so not really as crazy as you'd think

Maybe throw in a faceless for some sort of control warrior otk?
You are not prepared!

Nope.

Why not play this is druid? I can see it as a possibility there.

So really, I doubt it.
Listen to this guy

My comments refer mostly to the wild format.

There once was a man from Nantucket...
Mediocre.
I doubt I'll need to add this giant to my Warlock/Mage decks.
I don't get why all the hype really.
Betteruse that hero power.
